Next day. We were once again In the cafeteria. Munching on our meals dazedly. As all of our minds were focused on what course to choose. What will be the best for us. What will bring out the full power of our aspects. Even Cassie was encouraged. Yesterday, She was nothing like this. I really thought she was a pale corpse just going along with life. However when we met her today. She was full of energy and enthusiasm.

'I'm glad I could help her to. At least lessen the burden of her flaw. Even if it was for a little while.' I watched her devour her meal like a banshee with an amused smile.

But while I was teasing the embarrassing eating habits of Cassie. Everyone's attention were on the large screen hung up on the wall of the cafeteria.

On the screen was the ranking of the new sleepers based on their aspects. Rank and use.

And just like in the novel. Nephis was first. She had also revealed her true name. Which was put on the screen instead of her name.

[Changing Star].

Nephis's clan was called the immortal Flame clan. It was the most powerful clan at its prime. But unfortunately, Nephis is the only descendant left after the fall of their clan.

Nephis's grandfather. Immortal flame. Was one of the heroes of humanity. Even though he didn't receive a True name. He was still revered as one of the greatest heroes In history. After all when the first nightmare creatures ventured into the world. When Millions of people lost their lives. Humanity was barely able to survive.

But then the first batch of sleepers came. The ones that beat their nightmares and returned as sleepers for the first time in history. And among them was non-other than nephis's grandfather. That was how The Immortal Flame clan Came into existence.

To put it in a simple term. Nephis's Grandfather was one of the Og's.

In the end. All heroes are just a page in the long expansive book that is history. As when the Rank 5 gate surfaced into the real world. Nephis's grandfather. Who although was a master at that time. Died trying to protect the civilians, Eventually that continent was destroyed and no one was left alive. It was truly one of humanity's worst losses beside the emergence of the spell.

Nephis's mother was too. At the mercy of the Rank 5 gate. However she barely kept her life. And as a price for escaping death. She went into a State called Hollow.

It's a state where the soul of a person is destroyed and just the body remains. Empty. Soulless. Usually when an awakened or a sleeper dies in the dream realm, Thier soul gets destroyed. As well as their bodies. If that doesn't happen. They become Hollow.

At the death of her mother. Who's true name was. Smile of heaven. Nephis's father. Broken sword. Was heartbroken and depressed. In his mourning episode, Broken sword challenged the third nightmare….. And actually came out alive as a saint.

Yes, That's right, Broken sword was the first master to defeat the third nightmare and come back as a saint. He set a record. He opened an immovable door that was impossible to open and created a foundation for the future awakened.

Originally Broken sword was from a humble background. But due to his special genius and talent. He quickly became one of the powerhouses of the world. In turn he fell in love with Smile of heaven. Nephis's mother. So he asked her hand for marriage. That's how he got entangled with the Immortal flame clan. Eventually rising the clan up to the peak of the world.

After that. Broken sword perished in the dream realm. In a place that's now called a death zone.

However, Later into the novel. It was pointed out that it was the sovereigns that betrayed Broken sword and Killed him as a result of their scheme.

Why?

I don't even know if we got an answer for that in the novel. So that's one more mystery added to my already complicated list.

After that. The Immortal flame clan went into a downward spiral. Losing their assets and influence as time went by. In the end the only people remaining in the clan house, Were nephis and her grandma. Who passed away of old age.

By the time Nephis was sixteen. She was all alone in the empty, Desolate clan household. She had lost everything before she even had awareness. Her father. Her mother. And the rest of her clan as well.

It's no wonder she looks so….. emotionless, I mean she is a legacy. Calmness is literally trained into her. After all she was taught everything by a master who remained behind out of loyalty for a while. Before also leaving too.

As for Nephis's aspect. It is divine ranked. The reason for that is, The Immortal flame clan had a deep relationship with the sun god. Where the direct descendants of the clan may have a chance of inheriting the divine lineage of the gods their clan is related to. And in the case of Nephis. She received the blessing of the sun god. Just like how sunny got one from the shadow god. But sunny was a bit more special.

It is the same for the other great three clans. The valor clan has the blessings of the god of war. Led by non-other than one of the three sovereigns. Anvil of valor. Though he hasn't made an appearance in the novel yet. He is part of the betrayal that caused the death of Broken sword.

As well as the great Song clan. Who I suspect. Are related to the beast god. Their leader, Ki song. Is a very scary women. It is said. She adopted a number of girls. And Raised them up as direct heirs to her clan. That's why the song clan consists of beautiful but very scary women.

The last clan is The House of night. Their founder is called Nightwalker. It didn't really point out In the novel on which god they have a connection to.

There's also one last sovereign who doesn't have a clan. Nor has he been talked about in history. I think he is the most dangerous, mysterious one among the sovereigns.

Asterion.

He is a [Dreamspawn]. so is Nephis. A dreamspawn is someone who belongs to both worlds but isn't welcomed In neither of them. Their soul exists on the edge between nightmare and reality.

[Dreamspawn] is an attribute that awakenes when you become a sleeper. Though I don't understand what it entails. It is rather mysterious. The reason Nephis has that attribute, Is because she was born from a Hollow mother….. I mean that's what I read from a Redditor when I was interested.

'It seems I really have to do something about going into a trance all the time.' I slapped myself. Leaving a very red handprint.

'As I was saying. Nephis's aspect is called [Light Bringer]. It allows her to call forth The white flames of the sun god. The flames's uses are very versatile. It could heal. Incinerate. And protect. However we all know nothing is free.

Nephis's flaw is [Pristine soul]. Its effect is shown when Nephis summons her flames. And while she is using her flames. She isn't immune to its effects. Her soul will be burned along with her body causing her unimaginable pain. This is the price for having such power at the back your hands.

The soul is the most fragile, but also precious piece of your existence. That's the reason why Jet's aspect is really rare and powerful.

'In the story. Nephis was very hesitant to use these flames. A trauma deeply rooted into her mind due to the pain it causes.'

I sighed. I was glad I didn't have a flaw. From this pattern. I couldn't even imagine the kind of flaw an aspect such as [Perfect adaptation] will have. So I'm very happy I didn't take any chances.

Right behind Nephis was caster. The legacy. Apparently he has an ascended aspect which while rare to a normal degree. Isn't that broken compared to mine or Sunny's or Nephis's. Hell it's even lower in rank to Cassie's.

I continued staring at the screen's display before I let out a dry laugh.

At fifth place was my name along with a small description about my aspect and it's name. [Superior Physique].

When people began noticing my rank. Whispers and murmurs rang out. With the same people that looked down on me yesterday. Were Now looking at me with a particular glint in their eyes. Which indicated trouble.

As though they could read my mind. The devi- sorry, A group of kids walked towards our table in a manner that made my smile twitch.

They were one of the groups from the high end section. Dressed fashionably and elegantly.

When they reached our table. Sunny's body tensed, While Cassie was calm. Probably because she couldn't see.

One of the boys that looked like the leader stared into my eyes. And stated "I saw your aspect. It is rather impressive. Is it an awakened one? I bet it is!" The boy had a greedy expression as he looked at me like I'm some kind of prize to be won.

I smiled widely in response to his words as I raised my hand and...

"Fuck off" Shooed them away.

The group was confused for a moment. Before the leader spoke up. His tone having an underlying threat compared to before….

"It seems there has been a misunderstand-"

"Fuck off" I waved my hand again. My smile never leaving its place.

The boy narrowed his eyes at me. Before turning around, And like a herd of hens the others followed him. Giving us warning gazes one by one in return.

After they were gone, Sunny elbowed me with a shit eating-grin on his face "well done. That was very satisfying."

I chuckled as I watched the retreating group of teenagers. A cold glint passing across my eyes.

'…..Bunch of hypocrites'.
