Downfall

In a beautiful elegant room, sat Queen Elequess. She had paint-like blue hair that flowed in the wind like it was water, her fair skin further complimented her crystal blue eyes which was capable of seeing all things pure, atop her silky hair was a blue crown, it's exquisite design proved the wealth of her kingdom.

A poor-looking man ran before the queen and went onto his knees in fear. The queen did not budge emotionally, she slowly met her eyes downward with the filthy citizen.

"My queen! We are under siege! The Demonic Trio are killing everybody!" The man explained in a panic. The queen smiled.

"My queen? What is wrong? Should we not do something?" The man asked in confusion.

In what seemed like a goddess descending, in the most elegant and fragile tones, she spoke.

"Worry not. This is just destiny. If my kingdom is to fail, I will fall with it! My child.. he's already left with the Royal Guard Captain. What is there to do?" She smiled once more.

The man looked up in shock to her, it appeared that the matter was inconsequential.

"My queen! My family! The people! We're all dying! Please do something!" The man wailed tears of agony.

The queen's fair and gentle face returned to one of neutrality.

"I've already decided. There is nothing that I could attempt to do to atone for my sins. God is waiting for you all, be grateful. For the Devil is awaiting me with his arms open." The queen smiled as her body went limp suddenly and the beggar's face was painted with despair.

The beggar slowly got up in tears and opened the large doors of the castle only to be greeted with a spear through his chest. The kingdom was lit up in a beautiful crimson, screams of terror rung throughout the city, laughter from the murderous demons could be heard behind it.

Soon, even the castle went ablaze, just like that, the great Kingdom of Serenity disappeared overnight.

In a small town a man had just entered on horse back, he wore majestic looking obsidian armor with runes written upon it, the horse was equally as beautiful as the man's armor which glowed in the night. He appeared to be in his mid 40's and had short dark black hair, an eternal serious expression was written upon his face.

Behind him was a boy, his age was no more than 4. He was smiling, enjoying the beautiful scenery, he had always loved to be outside the city. His eyes were crystal blue and his hair was a deep aqua.

"We're almost there, boy. Ready yourself, we will disembark soon!" Royal Guard Captain Senberk said.

"Yes sir!" The small boy replied, overjoyed.

As Senberk entered further within the town, some villagers ran out to greet him by kneeling down onto the dirty mud.

"We greet the glorious Lord Senberk!" They said, in response Senberk put his hand in a motion for them to get up.

"I deserve no praise, nor do I deserve the title of lord! Get up!" Senberk said without a shred of arrogance.

The villagers refused to get up until their village chief appeared, it was an old man with a walking cane that looked incredibly common, except for his left eye being blinded.

"Come, speak with me in my house" The village chief said as he left.

Senberk got off of his horse and helped the child off of it as well, he then grabbed his bag and tied the horse to a fence in front of the village chief's home that looked poverty-stricken.

"Wait for me out here. I won't be long." Senberk explained to the child, he nodded in response with a large smile.

In the house the two sat opposite ends of a table, enjoying tea with each other.

"So.. it happened did it?" The old man said quietly. Senberk sat his tea down and looked at him quietly for a short while.

"Yes.. they arrived. As for the boy, he has shown signs of inheriting it from both his mother and father, he's highly talented and gifted." Senberk replied in a tone of redness.

The old man smiled in response for this as he drank more tea.

"Son.. don't be sad. You were always like this as a kid.. You need to teach him to be strong from now on." The old man said as he smiled.

Senberk looked at him with shock, tears welled up in his eyes and dripped one-by-one onto the floor. He attempted to cover his face with his hand.

"Dad.. my family.. my daughter.. they're gone." He said softly as he cried.

The old man got up from his seat and walked over to Senberk and hugged him.

"I understand. But for now.. don't live with thoughts of what could've been, live for what you will do. Darko will be a great man once he is grown.. he will get revenge for you." The old man pat Senberk on his back to calm him.

Senberk slowly stopped crying and then hugged the old man.

"Thank you for taking care of us for now." Senberk said as he got up and exited, the old man watched with sadness.

'I don't have long either, son.. I hope you can teach him in time.' He thought as he sat back down, lost in his thoughts.
