34 Chapter34-[Resurgent Legion]

Back at the inn, Jason, ever the gentleman, booked three rooms, preferring to approach the matter of infusing Undead Essence with a sense of mutual consent.

However, Carolina protested, "Respected master, I will not accompany you tonight."

"Alright, rest well," Jason responded without any question, even booking an additional room, acknowledging the past two evenings had been rather taxing on Carolina.

Yet, he noticed the dragon girl wearing a mysterious smile, seemingly concocting some plan.

Upon returning to his own room, Jason vaguely saw that Carolina didn't head back to her room but instead pulled the two newly recruited female heroes into the bathhouse, all while smiling.

The other two, Loreta and Tiffany, blushed deeply at whatever the dragon girl whispered to them.

Jason didn't dwell on it much, took a bath, and lay in bed.

As was his habit before sleep, based on the day's progress, he planned his next moves.

"Continue map clearing for the next four days."

"Aim to finish cleaning around Losfall, then move on to the event," he pondered.

With the caravan now operational, it signaled the start of a virtuous cycle.

During map clearing, he could look for various soldier training facilities to continue amassing troops, especially since injecting two hundred thousand gold coins into the auction house should enable him to acquire most of the materials needed for soldier training.

As for the [Divine Waters] in Jason's possession... sorry, those were being saved for future high-tier units.

"In four days, it should be about time to start participating in the event," Jason gestured in the air.

The server's second event [Resurgent Legion] was divided into two phases— The first phase, from the fifth to the eighth day after the server launch.

Weakened versions of ancient units would spawn near each newbie city.

These units would drop slightly better loot than regular monsters of the same level, but for Jason, it made more sense to hunt higher-level monsters.

After all, the event was aimed at the average player, emphasizing participation for everyone.

The key lies in...

"The second phase of the event," Jason pondered.

In the second phase of [Resurgent Legion], special unit buildings would spawn, which Jason aimed to capitalize on.

He planned to use Underworld Baptism to produce a batch of high-tier units.

If he remembered correctly, there were a total of three special unit buildings near Losfall city, and each player could train up to 1000 soldiers in a single building.

In total, that meant three thousand troops.

While general newbie cities had 4-tier unit buildings, Losfall and some other high-difficulty newbie cities would feature 5-tier unit buildings!

If Jason was lucky... he could potentially train 8-tier soldiers in one go, so he couldn't afford to miss the second phase of the event.

"However, though Losfall was less populated in my previous life, allowing players the chance to train 5-tier units,"

"Due to my influence, this newbie city likely already has quite a few powers present, and they've probably also noticed that high-difficulty newbie pools have richer resources."

"That means the unit training buildings will probably be fiercely contested..."

Jason frowned slightly, mainly recalling some distasteful matters from his previous life.

Events like [Resurgent Legion], featuring high-tier unit training buildings, were common.

Initially, they were shared among the wider player base.

Later on, it was mostly the large guilds and powers that would forcibly monopolize them.

This situation arose mainly because these buildings could serve a limited number of players at the same time; if others were training, it meant some forces might miss out.

Thus, in Divine Age, the contest for and monopolization of outdoor resources were far worse than in traditional MMORPGs.

That Divine Age could eventually impact reality was well known among the major families.

The big guilds monopolizing these resources were backed by financial dynasties, employing extremely brutal methods.

In the game, players daring to approach the event's unit training facilities were directly killed off, with even threats issued that if they were killed once and dared to come back, they would be corpse camped, killed until they quit the game.

After all, the death penalties in Divine Age's later versions became increasingly severe.

Moreover, if a player actually managed to break through the encirclement on their own merit and train those high-tier units, those major families would even go as far as to track the person down in reality and eliminate them.

A classic case of killing the chicken to scare the monkeys!

As for the Valoria official side, for one, they slightly cared about their image, and secondly, those family powers would also give them some face, sharing the high-tier unit buildings, at least not having personally engaged in monopolization.

But the moment Jason recalled how he was bullied in his past life, how he dared not touch the high-tier unit buildings that spawned near him, his mood instantly darkened.

"However, this time, I won't miss out on any of the three buildings!"

"Whoever blocks me, I'll kill," Jason murmured to himself.

He then casually checked the storage status of various resources.

After two days of map clearing and development, his resources were very plentiful.

Wood: 226,000,

Stone: 218,000,

Iron: 201,000,

Gold Coins: 84,000,

Food: 226,000.

Of course, Jason still had 94 Basic Resource Packs unused in his backpack.

Apart from those obtained from various first kills, there were also some dropped by outdoor bosses that got overwhelmed by Jason's army before he even noticed how they died, sporadically dropping some Basic Resource Packs.

After tallying his supplies, Jason finally lay in bed, covered himself with a small blanket, and prepared to sleep.

However, at this moment.

In the next room, his three heroes were chatting away energetically.

Carolina casually mentioned, "Actually, like Loreta, my core energy quality was only SS-grade before."

"Really?" the knight Tiffany chimed in, "But according to the apocalyptic knowledge we were given, at this stage, it wouldn't be possible for our master to gather three [Soul Essences] to enhance you, right?"

However, the dragon girl simply smiled mysteriously, "Using [Soul Essence] is just the most basic enhancement. I'm not only at SSS-level now, but I also feel there's potential for further advancement."

This statement made the scholar Loreta restless, "Wait, further advancement, do you really feel that way?"

"Our True Knowledge Society has always believed that, with the departure of the gods, the shackles they placed on all beings also dissipated. Beyond SSS-level is no longer an unreachable realm!"

As the conversation unfolded, the three became excitedly engrossed in discussion.

However, when asked about how Carolina achieved her breakthrough, she always remained mysteriously vague.

But Carolina mentioned, "Actually, our master can also grant you the opportunity to ascend."

"But, you must understand, you can't enjoy this for nothing..."

Her words tickled Tiffany and Loreta's curiosity.

In the game world of Divine Age, where killing and chaos were common, everyone understood that power was everything.

Both of them immediately declared, "We are willing to pay any price!"

Carolina smiled slightly, her relationship with [Smith] made it clear that he was very focused on enhancing his army's strength, so the dragon girl found herself reluctantly having to persuade the two newly joined heroes.

However, Carolina also knew well that things easily obtained were seldom cherished.

"Alright, I'll speak to our master about it. In a few days, you can have this opportunity."

After saying this, she whispered something into Tiffany and Loreta's ears.

Suddenly, the faces of the two distinctly graceful female heroes blushed.

Carolina, with a smile, said, "It's getting late; I'm going to sleep now."

She knew that, unlike dragons, the notions held by human heroes were indeed too conservative and would need some time to digest.

On the other side, Jason had no idea what was happening. What made him helpless was that just as he was about to fall asleep, he felt a cold, smooth body suddenly slip under the covers.

Faced with such insubordination, he had to take decisive action.

This time, Jason developed a new game.

Aside from fully transforming into a dragon, the dragon girl could also turn into a half-dragon, sprouting a pair of horns in the process.

Conveniently, Jason could use them as a steering wheel, thrusting fiercely...

After a while, Carolina, with a trace of milky liquid at the corner of her mouth, cuddled Jason's lower half and sweetly fell asleep.
