20 Chapter20-Eradicating the Monster Lair

After the excitement, Jason immediately began to inspect his newly acquired soldiers.

[Frost Lich]

[Tier: 6-tier]

[Race: Undead]

[Level: 1]

[HP: 4000/4000]

[Attack Power: 1000]

[Defense: 500]

[Magic Resistance: 700]

[Speed: 150]

[Food Consumption: 0]

Skills: [Ice Crystal Burst]: Creates a wide range of frost that causes continuous damage and slows down enemies, accumulating power to explode, inflicting substantial damage, and freezing opponents.

[Arcane Wisdom]: A passive effect that ignores 15% of the opponent's Magic Resistance, actively triggered to ignore 50% of the opponent's Magic Resistance, lasting for 300 seconds

Description: Magi who mastered the power of fire in life, upon their transformation into undead, acquired a completely opposite type of magic. They will only obey their creator [Jason]. As undead beings, Frost Liches do not require food.

...

While in terms of attributes, the HP and defense are quite low, even lower than the 5-tier Subspecies Bone Dragon, the attack power is high, skyrocketing to a base of 1000 points!

Plus, one skill offers wide-area output combined with a control effect, and the other boosts magical penetration, enhancing the Frost Lich's ability to clear mobs, making them perfect artillery units.

"It's just a pity that the numbers are small; after the magus tower is built, I'll be able to train [flame magus], then I can transform more of them," Jason planned.

At this moment, he also took the opportunity to check Carolina's panel.

Now at level twenty, she had gained a new skill when she leveled up to ten.

[Dragon Tongue: Wind Riding]: Adds a wind element enhancement to all soldiers, increasing damage by 30% (damage type is magical) and speed by 40%, lasting for thirty minutes.

Jason was very satisfied; truly befitting of an SSS-level hero, it was an excellent buff skill, enhancing both output and speed.

Moreover, the BUFF applied to all soldiers universally, which would be extremely powerful without a Command Limit cap.

After reviewing the data, Jason gestured grandly and continued on the journey.

The efficiency of the subsequent pioneering increased significantly.

Along the way, monsters that originally required coordinated attacks from various units, taking some time to defeat, could now be eradicated with a single skill from the Frost Liches after they joined the team.

Various resource points along the path, like gold mines, quarries, lumberyards, slaughterhouses, etc., were being acquired by Jason with utmost efficiency.

Not only were the monsters being cleared quickly, but the collection of various resources, aided by the ten-thousand-fold acceleration, meant that they were practically gathered in just a second or two.

And Jason himself, no longer needing to lift a finger, merely rode Carolina, surveying from the skies, comparing the map while planning their route.

Where his army passed, it was no exaggeration to say that the land was left barren—monsters were annihilated, and resource points were completely exhausted.

"Use 'Ice Crystal Burst'!" Jason commanded loudly.

A large group of 3-tier jungle goblins ahead were enveloped in frost, their HP plummeting instantly, and within less than a second, swathes of them were dead.

Jason also noticed the numbers in the [Ascended High Tier] event's monster-killing section skyrocketing.

"It has to be the mage; this efficiency in clearing mobs is unparalleled," Jason remarked with delight.

The sun was beginning to dip in the sky.

After nearly half a day of busyness, making a large loop from the Old Losfall district to the surrounding forests and hills and then back again, Jason arrived at the center of the district, having practically swept the Old Losfall map clean.

Next on Jason's list was the Monster Lair [Black Scorpion Thieves Guild], the very place where the Lord of Losfall's daughter was held captive.

Monster Lairs are a common setting in MMORPGs, continuously spawning monsters.

Destroying the Monster Lair yields abundant resources and several treasure chests as rewards... akin to a one-time dungeon with better rewards.

Monster Lairs in Divine Age also represent multiplayer challenge content, similar to Hero Altars, guarded by tens of thousands of monsters and protected by a strong boss.

But was Jason afraid?

He only feared running out of monsters to clear.

Facing the [Black Scorpion Thieves Guild], Jason didn't act recklessly; he first observed it and found that this Monster Lair was significantly stronger than the Hero Altar, dominated by 4-tier monsters [Black Scorpion-Thief], with a substantial number of 5-tier and 6-tier [Black Scorpion-Bosses].

There was no terrain like the one near the previous Hero Altar to exploit here.

A frontal assault, overwhelmed by the sheer number of enemies, would undoubtedly lead to heavy casualties for Jason's team.

After some thought and a brief consultation with Carolina, Jason gave a few instructions.

"I understand," the dragonkin girl nodded after hearing Jason's instructions.

Subsequently, Carolina transformed into her dragon form, flew to the edge of the monster lair, and unleashed a breath of dragon fire, then she turned and flew back.

The monsters inside the lair, provoked by the attack, charged out furiously, following the figure of the dragonkin girl in the sky.

Once they were lured far enough away, they were immediately blocked by Jason's summoned Dragonsepulcher Sentinels and Subspecies Bone Dragon; then the Frost Liches unleashed their power—

Streams of frost converged, forming a ferocious blizzard, the blades of ice within it bursting forth, puncturing the lured [Black Scorpion-Thieves] into a bloody mess.

With the success of the initial tactic, what followed was a mechanical repetition of the strategy.

Carolina repeatedly lured the monsters, then the melee units intercepted, and the Frost Liches, bursting with magical power, delivered relentless attacks.

The number of wild monsters in the lair rapidly diminished.

However, Jason's satisfaction was short-lived as the situation abruptly changed.

Just as Carolina was luring out the seventeenth wave of monsters, a horn sounded from within the lair.

"Woo~ Woo~"

Instantly, countless monsters went into a frenzy, rallying together in a massive surge!

Nearly ten thousand wild creatures stormed out, creating a visually terrifying spectacle.

From the rear, a figure resembling a general, astride a dark steed and clad in maroon armor, a towering giant wielding a long blade, charged forth with an overwhelming presence.

"Enemy attack!"

"Enemy attack!"

"All forces, engage!" the towering giant commanded.

Faced with this situation, Jason was momentarily taken aback, quickly realizing that he had triggered the lair's defense mechanism.

Just like his previous experience with the Guild of Concealers, killing a certain number of enemies would prompt the boss to appear.

Previously, Jason had eliminated his foes so swiftly that by the time the boss made its entrance, all the minions were already dead.

But this time, it was impossible to clear the massive horde of monsters in the lair in advance.

Therefore, after Jason reached the critical point of slaughter, the boss arrived with all its forces to confront him.

[Black Scorpion-General]

[Category: BOSS (Unvanquished)]

[Level: 90]

[HP: 15,000,000/15,000,000]

[Attack Power: 1000]

[Defense: 800]

[Magic Resistance: 800]

Skills: [Crimson Charge]: … [Chaotic Dance]: … [Bloodthirsty Desire]: …

Description: …

Seeing the boss's level, Jason's expression darkened.

"A level 90 boss?"

"This must be the strongest entity on the Old Losfall map!"

"And that HP..." Jason was somewhat speechless.

This Black Scorpion-General has a whopping 15 million HP!

Trying to brute force through tens of thousands of wild monsters was utterly impractical.

Fortunately, Jason was well-prepared.

In his past life, when the major guilds were pioneering Old Losfall, information about this boss had leaked.

Jason's original plan was to ideally clear the Monster Lair by luring the monsters out.

If that failed, he had another strategy—

He planned to apply full buffs, forcefully eliminate a wave of minions, then retreat, wait to drop the aggro, and launch a counter-attack, repeating this process to wipe out the lair's monsters before confronting the boss.

This strategy might seem like a pipe dream to other players because, except for a few flying units, the movement speed of land units isn't fast, and they definitely couldn't outrun the boss.

Attempting to retreat would likely result in significant troop losses.

But for Jason, who possesses the Realm of Heimdall for storing soldiers, he could simply run away alone, without worrying about unit casualties.

Not to mention, Jason had Carolina, the dragonkin girl known for her speed.

When it comes to fleeing, he's a professional.

He immediately activated his skills.

From his equipment came [Bravo! Losfall], Death Acolyte's [Prayer], the dragonkin girl's [Dragon Tongue: Wind Riding], Frost Lich's [Arcane Wisdom], and Dragonsepulcher Sentinel's [Dragonform].

Maxed out!

Truly maxed out!

Instantly, all of Jason's soldiers were bathed in various strange lights, their momentum surging dramatically!
