Chapter 10

Ben paced in his room, "Shit," he said reading the text from James. "What?" Jen asked, coming out of the bathroom. Ben relayed the information to her, "We need to get her out of here now," Jen replied. "Got any ideas? I don't think Andy is asleep," Ben told her. "I'll sneak down to her room. If he sees me, I'll just say I was asking for some make up remover or something," Jen assured him and quietly walked out of the room. Jen looked down the balcony that overlooked the entryway. She didn't see anyone, so she kept going, and ran into Kathrine. "Oh, Luna Kathrine, nice to see you," Jen faked. "Luna Jen, did you get lost?" Kathrine asked her voice full of judgment. "I was going to asked Blair for some make up remover," Jen lied. "There should be plenty of soap in the spare room, enough even to take off all of your makeup," Kathrine spat. Jen smiled, "I don't use soap, to hard on my skin. I wasn't blessed with thick skin like yours," Jen pushed back sweetly. Kathrine faked a chuckle and got closer to Jen, "I wouldn't think of attempting to wake Blair, she's not in there," Kathrine told her. "What do you mean she's not in there, we saw," Jen began. Kathrine interrupted her, "She and my son have gotten very close very fast. If you catch my drift," Kathrine told her. Jen gaped at her, before turning around and going back to her room.

Jen shut the door and leaned against it, still not sure if Kathrine just admitted her son was raping Blair. Ben was still pacing, "Well?" He asked. "Kathrine caught me, before I could go in there," Jen told him. "So," Ben replied. "She said Blair was in Andrew's room," she explained. Ben called James and told him what happened, "I see her silhouette in her bathroom," James assured him. "Jen, she's in her bathroom," Ben told her. "Craig said something about a ring," James said. "I didn't notice," Ben replied. "If we let James in, she's going to alert Andrew," Jen chimed in. Ben sighed, "She's probably right," James agreed. "I'll go stay in the car with Ryan, text me in the morning," James continued and hung up. Ben looked down, he could hear the heartbreak in James' voice and didn't know how to help. His sister didn't seem to know him, not like she use to anyway. James laid his clothes near a bush and shifted. He curled up where he could watch Blair's window. He couldn't bring himself to leave her completely and deep down he hoped his proximity would help strengthen that mark.

Ben sat down on his bed, his sister wouldn't do this to James. "Ben, can't you and Blair talk to each other mind to mind?" Jen asked. Ben looked at her, "I don't know with that hex if it'll work," Ben told her. "Just try, babe, please," Jen said kneeling in front of him. Ben took a deep breath and closed his eyes, he thought maybe if he focused on his sister harder than what she taught him he could break through whatever hex was there. "Blair," he called into the darkness. "BLAIR," he yelled getting frustrated. He waited but there was nothing, just a void of dark. He opened his eyes and shook his head, "Ben, you have to reach her," Jen urged cupping his face. "You are the only one who can," she added, tears in her eyes. Ben grabbed her hand against his face and closed his eyes again, he sighed against the dark. "BEN," a voice echoed, hurt and fearful. "Blair," he called after her. "Ben, please help me," she called. "Blair, where are you?" He asked. There was quiet, "Blair," another female voice called. "JEN," Blair yelled. "What happening? Where are you?" Jen asked. "I'm inside, I'm still here," Blair cried. "You have to take off the ring," Ben told his sister. "I can't, I can't control my body," she cried. "Don't worry, Blair we'll figure this out," Jen assured. "We will do whatever it takes," Ben added. "Tell James I love him," Blair cried. "I'll get you out of here Blair, I promise," Ben said into the darkness. "Always with you," he added for comfort. "Always with you," Blair whispered.

Ben opened his eyes trying to fight the tears, he refused to let himself cry. "How did you get in there?" He asked Jen. "I don't know, maybe because I was touching you?" She shrugged. "What do we do now?" He asked. "Sleep, we're going to need it, to try and get her home," was all Jen could offer as she stood in front of her mate. Ben wrapped his arms around Jen's slender wast and put his head between her breasts. She scratched her nails gently through his hair, this was beginning to take a toll on him. She could see his strength was dwindling, he had been trying to be strong for James, but he was hurting too. Blair had refused to give up on him and now it was his turn.

Blair watched as her body brushed her teeth and combed her hair, got into a night gowned. Blair pushed and pushed trying to get her body to take off the ring. It was no use, her body turned off the lights and closed her eyes. Blair sat against the darkness pulling her knees to herself. She couldn't help but cry, she felt awful for snapping at James about Aileen instead of just believing him. "Stupid stupid Luna," a taunting voice called into the darkness. Blair picked up her head. "Who is that?" She asked, afraid. "Don't worry Luna, you and I and Alpha Andy are going to be very happy together," the voice said with a giggle as it faded away. Blair went ridged in fear, was that who was controlling her body? This was going to be a long night, alone in the darkness.
