Oh my God!; Beatrix shouted as she stood up and walked towards James then she continued "What happened to you?" with a concerned voice.

Its nothing; James replied with a cold voice.

How can you say its nothing, your face has bruises and its swelled up; Beatrix touched his face softly as she spoke.

Its kinda embarrassing, i slipped on the stairs; James let out a short laugh as he spoke.

Oh!, am sorry. I hope you didn't get hurt badly; Beatrix asked looking really concerned while her hand was still touching his face.

No, am fine; James answered as he glanced at Chris whose eyes was stuck to the TV like he wasn't hearing their conversation, his face was emotionless, a mere look at him will make your heart stop beating. James felt a slight fear as he looked at chris, he turned and took Beatrix hand off his face and held it in his hands then he continued "You shouldn't worry, am fine. Thanks for caring".

Ok I know what will happen, you are going to stay here and until your face heal up, i can't let my ladies see my cousin like this; Beatrix said jokingly as she lightly punched James on his shoulder.

If you guys are done, i will like to say am leaving; Chris cold voice echoed through entire room.

Well, i have work tomorrow so i need rest; Chris said as he stood up from the sofa and took his jacket.

Oh, i guess we will watch another day then; Beatrix replied as she walked towards chris and embrace him.

Yea i will see you tomorrow; Chris let go off her embrace and walked towards the exit before turning to James "Can i talk to you for a minute", his voice was cold as ice which James's heart escalate in fear.

Ok, yes, sure; James quickly stood up and rushed up to Chris and they both left the room.

Outside, Chris walked elegantly towards his car like a king while James walked behind as his body trembled with fear. Upon reaching his car, Chris turned to face James and spoke "If you try anything funny, you are going face me" with a murderous and threatening voice. Without letting James speak, he boarded his car and drove away.

James froze where he stood, his mind went haywire, his heart was thumping, his whole body shivered in fear. His heart was in distress, panic and rush, he started thinking on how to avoid Beatrix in her own house, he just don't know what to do. He rubbed the space between his brows in frustration, he stood outside for long time before going into the house.
