CHAPTER 24
Ahhh! Ze Monday morning. Ze worse day for school going teenagers. Don't we all just love ze Monday mornings?? I know I do. NOT! Today is not my day. It's official. It seems the universe is against me because today started out bad hair day. The damn bun kept sticking out at places that I never knew buns stick out from. For some weird reason, Tyler spilled milk all over me so I had to change my outfit for the third time. The first two times, it's because I couldn't decide on what to wear.
"What crawled up your ass this morning?" Ivy asks me immediately when she sees the scowl on my face.
"Bad hair day, and Tyler spilled milk all over me."
"Been there sistuh!" Janice says, which eats a glare from me.
"Look who the dogs dragged to school today. Normally, you look horrible, but you are a sore sight to look at today." A voice sneers.
Oh hell naa! Not now! I ain't got the patience for this twerp right now.
"Ain't got shit to give you Maddy. Leave me alone." I snarl.
"Oh I'm so scared. You pathetic looking thing. I don't know what Josh even sees in you." She is coming towards me with her stupid dummy entourage behind her. Janice and Ivy tense up behind me.
"I'm warning you for the last time, stay away from Josh. Whatever spell you have put him under you had better remove it before you regret ever coming here." She threatens.
"Ouuu I'm shivering in my boot. What you gonna do about it? Huh?!" She raises her hand to slap me but my reflexes are faster so I hold her hand and turn her around, twisting her hand behind her back. When her two dummies make a move towards me, Ivy and Janice step up with the bottle of pepper spray in their hands, ready to spray away. She is squirming and trying to get out of my grip but I hold on tight.
"I've told you not to mess with me, but you are such a blockhead that's nothing enters your ears. I'm telling you this for the last time, don't mess with me. You, my friend, don't know what I am capable of. Stay out of my way, and it will be good for everyone. Don't even think you can ruin me. I know dirt about you that even you don't know." The last part was made up, but hey who cares.
"Now get out of my sight, you disgust me. I push her away from me and walk away with my friends behind me. Before we walk far away from the parking lot where the shit went down, Janice grabs my arm, stopping me.
"This is for pushing me down the slide in the third grade." She takes her lipstick zapper and points it at Maddy.
"What are you gonna do with that? Touch up my make up?" She scoffs while rubbing her arm.
"Naa! But you'll have to do that later on. I'm just gonna do this." She aims the zapper to Maddy's hair and zaps it, making her hair jump out in different directions as though she had been electrocuted. Well, basically she was so...
"Now we can leave. Class starts in ten." I'm sure if someone was the way we were walking, they'd think that we just put ourselves on slow motion with our hair flying in the wind. The victory walk. I think my happiness just shot up a notch at finally being able to physically 'attack' Maddy. I mean what's the point of being a fighter if you can't fight an idiot because you are undercover? At least I didn't 'fight' her.
The day went by in a flash, and it was finally lunchtime. The time when I get to see Josh. And of course, the twins.
"Babes!" Dave greets us when he sees us approaching the table.
Janice goes over and gives him a kiss.
"Gross! Get a room people!" Josh fakes barf. Janice sticks her tongue out at Josh. He just shakes his head at her. He reaches out his hand, and I take it.
"Someone said that she saw you man handling Maddy today." He says after kissing my cheek.
"She deserved it." I pout.
"From what I was told it was a full blown fight."
"Some people can exaggerate a lot. I just twisted her arm."
"Atta girl!" Dan says before Ivy smacked him. I look over to Maddy's table and I see her glaring at me. I smirk at her and give her a wink. She gives me a nasty look before turning back to her table.
That'll show her who is boss!
The rest of the day went by event free. I secretly wanted Maddy to approach me again so I could zap her properly. She didn't make any move to come to me again but she kept giving me nasty nasty looks. I mean if looks could kill, them I'm sure I would have died and resurrected and died and resurrected a thousand times over and over again. At one point, I'm almost tempted to give her the finger, but I don't so I glare back. She could go burn the sea for all I care.
Janice is on a committee that is helping with the prom arrangement so she doesn't come home with me. When I reach home, I take a shower and jump into bed. I do my homework and read a novel till it's Janice returns and it's dinner. I just want to go to bed and I do just that immediately after dinner.
Imma pray for a better day tomorrow. I hate having bad hair days and horrible mornings.
