Emily...

She was in terror.

That poor dog had died from a drop from that mixture.

Lila laughed happily and was already packing up the mixtures in a briefcase.

Her heart thumped against her ribcage.

Her husband could die from a drop of that evil.

She won't let that happen.

She needed to get back home to her husband.

"Come on, Em. Let's go"

Go? Where? Was she missing something?

"We're going to terminate the wolves and you're coming with me. This is your hard work, Em and I'm not going to take all the credits"

Emily's heart pounded against her ribcage.

Although she was glad that specimen C won't be fufilling any of his promises, she didn't want to go down there.

"Why don't we let the guards do it. Let's just go celebrate and have fun"

"That is the most absurd thing I've ever heard. Loosen up, Em. It's an honour to be able to kill our predators. Come on, let's go"

Her husband wasn't a predator.

Cole wouldn't hurt her, that much she knew.

Each step she took forward was more dreaded than the last.

And finally they were met with the steel doors and the guards that secured the place.

She wanted to be in their shoes at that moment.

The guards let them in closing the door behind them.

Lila moved forward with the briefcase and stood in the middle of the cages that were arranged to assume a crescent shape.

Emily became restless when Lila began to mock the wolves.

Bending down to unlock the briefcase, she raised one of the mixtures in the air.

"We're going to end your existence and your useless attempts of trying to be on top of the food chain"

"We'll like to see you try"

Specimen E had shouted making Lila narrow her eyes.

Lila walked towards him with a crazed look and without warning threw the mixture at him.

At first nothing happened making Emily release a breath of relief until he began to scream.

He kept on howling and then it was dead silent.

The man had died.

Panic set in as the rest of the pack began to howl.

Some in anger, some in pain.

"Now you see, humans will always be at the top of the food chain"

Someone scoffed grabbing Lila's attention.

And that someone turned out to be Specimen C making Emily to be more restless than before.

Lila walked towards him with a challenging look in her face.

"What's wrong, Wolfie? Are you scared?" said Lila in a baby's voice.

"I should be asking you that question because once I'm out of here, you'll be dead meat"

"In your dreams" said Lila moving closer to him with each word.

"You might be stronger because of the weapons you posses but it's obvious we're smarter"

And with that, Specimen C ripped out Lila's locket.

That was the remote control for all their cages.

It wasn't long before all the cages were deactivated.

Lila's eyes which were wide with fear was ripped off by one of the released captive leaving a blind Laura bleeding and weeping on the floor.

Emily swung into attention, going for the door straight away but she didn't get that far because she felt unconsciousness seeping slowly into her.

"I told you I'll have you" was the last sentence she had before the darkness consumed her.
