Court Part 4: Imposter and the Verdict

"Your honour if I may," Katsuo said as he stood up from his seat.

"You may," the judge said.

"Ms. Blossoms you work as a secretary for the Inventions Department correct?"

"That's right,"

"And are you aware that you have signed a contract you signed before you started working there?"

"Yes, I remember signing a contract,"

"Well the contract does state that walks of all manifestations will either walk in and be present around 90% of staff members and that you will be working there at your own risk, do you remember reading about that?"

"I remember a bit of that,"

"I also understand that you have a manifestation that allows you to get basic knowledge about people,"

"Yes, that's right,"

"Do you mind demonstrating your manifestation for me?"

"Sure I can show you," Cher said with a smile and looked directly at the prosecutor, "That woman's name over there is Yae Yamanaka,"

"Are you sure that's what you see?"

"Yeah, Yae Yamanaka,"

"Preposterous," the prosecutor blurted out.

"Your honour the prosecutor's name should be Tea Yamanaka but she did have a twin sister named Yae. Ms. Blossom just proved that Yae is posing to be Tea, your honour the trial should've started if the prosecution didn't show up,"

"Your honour this is a farce, the defence and the witness know each other. Who's to say that they haven't planned this from the very start?"

"I actually haven't spoken to Ms. Blossoms in quite some time," Katsuo said in a matter-of-fact tone.

"He's right, one might say he's been avoiding me," Cher said raising an eyebrow at Katsuo.

"With the absence of the prosecution this trial should be adjourned," the judge stated, I could hear Mayumi take a deep breath but the judge continued. " Although I already have my verdict, Mayumi I declared you guilty on all charges,"

"What!?" Mayumi said as the guard came up to her handcuffing her and taking her away. "Director, Glasses help,"

"Katsuo you've gotta do something she won't last long in there,"

"Well we could appeal since the trial was unfair but I don't know if it will turn out any different," Katsuo said while watching Mayumi fight back trying to get away, then an arrow struck a guard, then the other and finally the judge. Everyone stood there in shock, I grabbed Mayumi and ran out of the courtroom, before we could get out of the building guards blocked the door and tried to take Mayumi. Before they could take her their feet were frozen to the floor, I turned around to see both Katsuo and Luciel.

"We better get out of here," Katsuo said as he opened the doors revealing more guards.

"And how did they all know to show up here so fast?" Luciel asked.

"They probably planned for Mayumi to be guilty from the start," I said as I walked out the door and loosened my tie, "Katsuo take Mayumi you know where,"

"And what about you?" Katsuo asked as I stopped and turned my head to face him.

"I'll be fine," I said with a smile, "just get going," I said as the guards all rushed towards me. I rolled up my sleeve and grew a spear out of it. "I managed to go 17 years being a Normal and those were probably the most peaceful 17 years of my life," I said smiling as I charged forward knocking down guards with my spear. However, they quickly got the best of me by surrounding me with shields. Just as I was about to give in the guards behind me flew up into the air. Luciel dropped down behind me and we put our backs together.

"I'll have your back if you got mine," he said smirking, "I knew you weren't just an ordinary normal,"

"Yeah yeah you were right," I said as I pulled out a claymore sword from my chest and swung it towards the guards, getting them to back up. I took another swing and cut their shields in half, I then transformed the claymore into a scythe and swung it at the guards, wounding them enough to not be able to stand. Luciel then grabbed me by the wrist and we made our escape. It wasn't long before we followed. A helicopter was after us that's when another arrow came and killed the pilots.

"You know those arrows seem to be very helpful today," Luciel said looking at me, I could easily tell what he was implying but I didn't have anything to say. I told Luciel where to go to meet up with Katsuo and Mayumi.

"Katsuo, are you here!?" I yelled throughout the underground lab. I created this lab myself while I was living with Katsuo's aunt, whenever I needed a place to get away this is where I'd be. It was right in between Katsuo's house and his aunt's house so it was perfect, the only people who knew about this place was Katsuo and I.

"You didn't have to yell, we're right here," Katsuo said turning the corner as Mayumi poked her head out.

"So what now?" Luciel asked.

"Katsuo and I can't stay too long but we'll be back in a couple of days," I said looking at my watch.

"A couple of days?! Why so long?" Mayumi yelled.

"A couple years back Hiro confessed to having put a tracker on Director so if need be he'll see where and how long she's been where,"

"I still can't find it and no matter how many times I ask to remove it I have a feeling it's still there," I said feeling a chill. "You showed Mayumi around right?" I asked as Katsuo nodded. "Keep her safe Luciel, I'll be in touch," I said as Katsuo and I left my old lab and continued back to headquarters.
