40 The Beginning

"Good job!"

Right now multiple children we're currently having class, which was something rare as living near the Größe Forest in a small village normally they would barely get any education but of course that all changed when their teacher arrived.

"Teacher could you repeat that word again?"

One of the kids raised their hand catching their teachers attention.

"Of course Anne!"

Their teachers name was Hyme he had messy white hair that reacher until his shoulders, bright blue eyes and a scar covering half his neck.

"Literally basically means you're serious with whatever you're saying, an example of this was Paul literally takes hours to solve math!" Hyme teased one of the children named Paul who stood up and pointed at Hyme with a furious expression, as much as hoe furious a child could get.

"No fair Teach! Why couldn't you make Joseph an example he can't even write properly!"

"Now calm down Paul it was just a joke"

This was had become a normal occurrence in the village ever since Hyme had arrived a year ago, the children at first didn't want to go to school but ever since they were able to learn new things they would never a single day of school.

Soon enough it was only two hours before sunset thus the children we're able to go home with each of them saying goodbye to Hyme, and speaking of Hyme he was now locking the small storage building turned small school and started to head to the market to buy ingredients for his dinner.

"Oh Hyme!"

But as he walked an old man half Hyme's height called him, this old man was the mayor an old adventurer who founded the village his name was Grun.

"Hello Mayor Grun, how have you been?"

"Oh I'm just doing all right, how about you any luck with your little investigation?"

Hearing the Gruns question Hyme couldn't help but be saddened by it.

"Sadly no, it's as if I just appeared passed out full of injuries in the forest out of no where."

"Maybe that pocket watch of yours is a clue?"

"This thing?, it won't even open I'm thinking of selling it."

Hyme took a small silver pocket watch out of his pocket and held it, the pocket watch had strange engravings on it and despite all his attempts Hyme couldn't even open it.

"Well I hope you do remember who you are, and remember to take it easy we can't have you passing out from exhaustion again!"

"Will do mayor!"

Hyme knew what the Mayor was saying is true, he could barley even do any form of hard labor and he was easily exhausted it was a fact that Hyme had accepted over the year. As he himself knew that the flaws he has were proof that he was Human.

"I wonder if they still have fish this late..."

[Dimensions May Die]

Hyme was found bloodied and passed out near the outskirts of Größe Forest, the Villagers took him in and when he woke up he couldn't even remember who he was. And the only thing that was on him was a small silver Pocket watch that wouldn't open.

But despite this he apparently knew how to read, write and solve math thus the Mayor decided to give Hyme the chance to be a teacher for all the children in the village.

He decided to call himself Hyme thanks to suggestion of the local priest.

[Dimensions May Die]

Right now Hyme was in a little hut near the entrance of the village, it was small but still had enough space for a bed a cabinet a small table and chair a desk and a stove. There wasn't a second room so everything was cramped together.

But Hyme was still happy to call this his home as the villagers made it for him as a surprise, before that he would be sleeping in the stables on a pile of hay.

"I wonder If I can sell this to the merchants tomorrow..."

Hyme held the pocket watch in his hand with curiosity, despite his attempts he couldn't pry it open even the blacksmith was unable to. So their guess was that it was a magical item.

He didn't care for it whatsoever but if it was a magical item then he would be able to get some decent money from it, but until then Hyme placed the pocket watch on his desk as he began getting ready for bed.

But as he blew the candle out, he caught a glimpse of something Blue in the distance deep within the trees but as soon a she blinked it disappeared.

"Must have been a bird or something."

[Meanwhile in within Größe Forest]

"Damn it Rem he almost saw you."

Aizawa grabbed Rem by her shoulders while having a furious expression on his face, which soon disappeared when he saw tears running down Rem's cheeks.

"Sigh....."

Aizawa released his grip on Rem before leaning on the tree, ever since Victor imprisoned Muzan for some reason he didn't even remember who he was.

They found this out when the system gave them a prompt to visit him which all three of then immediately did, and to find that their friend didn't know who they were was something they didn't expect.

"Aizawa-san is there even a way to make him remember who he is?"

Raku was peeking between the trees watching Victor who now calls himself Hyme close his curtains, Raku was a geek for fiction and shows but their wasn't an explanation on how Victor lost his memories.

"It's fine we just have to check on him from time to time, it's best not to force him to remember."

"Y-You don't know that!"

Rem refuted but Aizawa just looked at her with his ever so present poker face and replied.

"Except we do."

"The system definitely has a reason to warn us about it so its best to let Victor remember who he was."

"I-I don't know about this..."

"It's alright Rem-san!, despite it being a year for Victor it's been only two days for us and 20 minutes in his home world. He'll probably remember us by the weekend!"

Yet despite Raku's words he couldn't help but be worried for Victor, as she still remembered the words he told her before he disappeared to chase Muzan.

'I promise I'll come back, and hey maybe I'll actually take you guys somewhere nice!'

Rem was hoping that her Hero would keep his promise, but as she pressed the system to take her home she didn't realized that her Hero won't remember for quite some time.
