20 Bandit hunt

"Is that it?"Kevin asked as he pointed to a small village.

Walking through heaps of snow, Lilith panted as she looked toward the village. She was exhausted from walking and at this point just needed to get some rest.

Before Lilith answered, she pulled out a paper from her jacket's pocket. Exchanging glances between the paper and the village, she nodded.

"I suppose it is. It would have helped if Klein came along."Lilith grunted.

"It cannot be helped. Unfortunately, I cannot read... so it will be nice if you can tell me the details of the assignment."

"What kind of a moron can-" Lilith was about to serve out an insult before she remembered Kevin's memory loss. To Lilith, it was still hard to remember he lost his memories when he could talk and through back annoying comments. She concluded that he must have been a fast learner, seeing as how he could not speak fluently when they first met.

"For the bandit hunt, we are targeting a group of bandits called night hawks. Klein did advise us to target their leader first because he was the strongest there. After that, everything should fall into place."Lilith explained.

"I have been meaning to ask, what are bandits?"Kevin asked as he went into a squatting position.

Hearing his question, Lilith's face palmed herself. She felt as though since Kevin came, she had been constantly explaining stuff like a dictionary.

"There are practically a group of outlaws, which engage in disgusting crimes. This group in particular deal in human trafficking. Enough to make me vomit."Lilith explained as she clenched her fist accompanied by a frown.

Stretching for a few seconds, Kevin got up from his squatting position, ready to charge in before Lilith held his shoulder.

"Where do you think you are going?"Lilith asked, pulling him back.

"If it is not obvious. We are going to take them down."

"Did you not hear anything I said?" Lilith asked in frustration."They deal in human trafficking, so technically every innocent person there is a hostage ."

'Are their lives our concern?'Kevin inwardly questioned himself. Losing his memories, Kevin found it hard to be concerned for the lives of others. The reason why he was training so hard to fight Norm was mostly that the village was his only lead in getting his memories back, and partially out of gratitude.

"So what do you suggest we do?"

"We are going to invade their group. Stealthily of course."

Giving a nod, the pair marched towards the village.

"You bitch! You did this on purpose, didn't you?"A man who wore a black mask which covered his face except his mouth and eyes accused a woman wearing tattered clothes.

"No, please! I did not mean to pour food on you."The woman pleaded as tears streamed down her black eyes.

Paying no attention to her pleas, the man grabbed her hair pulling her to a small narrow path between two houses.

"If you are going to dirty my clothes, you might as well clean them. With your mouth!"

"Please, please do not do this."The woman pleaded with her eyes swelling. Unfortunately, her cries fell on deaf ears.

"Mappa, what are you doing? We were told not to damage the merchandise." A woman wearing an identical robber mask said.

"Come on, just a little."The man begged.

The woman wearing tattered gazed at the woman in black, praying that they would at least respect her value as merchandise. With a cold stare, the woman replied "Make it quick."

Sob!Sob! The woman fell to her knees, realizing that not even the heavens would help her.

With a nasty smirk hidden behind the mask, the Mappa stretched out his hand to the woman before a voice resounded through his ears.

"Truly disgusting."A female voice said as she implanted her for into Mappa's face.

"Mappa? How dare -"

Zzzzz! Before she had the privilege of finishing her sentence, an electric current surged through her body, stopping her heart.

"Double takedown!"Kevin shouted as he raised his hand for a high five.

"Shh, keep quiet! But good work." Lilith praised while also raising her hand for a high five.

"W-Who is-"The woman was about to ask but her mouth was instantly covered by Lilith.

"Do not make a sound. We are here to take care of the bandits, hide the bodies and leave. We will take care of the rest."Lilith whispered, to which the woman simply nodded.

As instructed, the woman dragged the two bodies away while Kevin and Lilith took their clothing. Fortunately for them, the bandits wore black clothes and masks which favored the pair as it would be hard to identify an intruder.

"Let's go. We are lucky their genders matched ours."Lilith whispered as she left the alleyway. As soon as she emerged, a female bandit ran over and proceeded to throw a barrage of questions.

"Mika, did Mappa rape the merchandise? If that fool gets us in trouble, I will kill him."

'So the person I am impersonating is called Mika.' Lilith thought. She was quite ashamed of herself for not finding out their names before impersonating them.

"Forget about that, come here and eat, we do have all day. We need to start harvesting organs by tomorrow." Another male bandit announced.

'They.. treat lives like disposable items.'Lilith was beyond disgusted, she swore to herself to make sure their plans never work.

"And Mappa, for your sake, I hope your lower genitals did not damage the goods. Or else you will deal with me."

'Lower.. genitals?' Kevin thought, not understanding the true meaning behind those words.

As planned, the infiltration was successful and thanks to the mask, no one suspected a thing. They were served food by some of the villagers who were held captive. It was quite despicable, not only were they stripped of their rights but also had to perform manual labor.

Despite that fact, Lilith still ate the food. She pulled up her mask to her nose and dug into the food while the other bandits were not looking. Kevin on the other hand preferred not to do something as risky as that even though he was hungry.

After eating, they surprisingly still had a lot of time before their so-called 'break' was over. Therefore, they initiated a conversation.

"So this is what it feels like to be a spy." Lilith casually said.

"What is a spy?"

"Nevermind." she said, wanting to avoid explaining."But at this rate, nothing can stop us from beating the night hawks' leader. That is how good my plan is."

"Mika! It is your turn for the practice match."A bandit yelled.

The pair was dumbfounded, were they going to get caught this soon? Lilith uses the wind element, but what about the person she is impersonating?
