Null...?

As a Great Monarch died in the center of the Leo Reality, an examination was hours away from taking place. A young boy, no older than 16 was in a large fancy room, that could be comparable to an average house in size. The boy was handsome, with dashing black hair and crystal like purple pupils, was on the ground, doing a exercise that most would recognize as a push up?

He did many in a row, adding up to a total of 100 in one set, this difficult feat was seemingly nothing but a normal exercise for this young man, he then layed on his back and did crunches, a set of 100 aswell.

After doing multiple exercises, he jumped up and grabbing a towel from his closet, hopped into the shower. After a cold shower, the boy came out in a simple black robe, that made his naturally handsome self, gain a dignified aura.

"Alright, it's almost time for the test, I should get going or Agnes might really kill me this time" Upon closer inspection, this handsome young lad was the cute little toddler from before, Leon!

Rushing down the halls, he slid past a grand door that he quickly rushed back into, "I'm here!" he yelled

Dashing into the room, he saw an elegant woman sitting alongside a man, with black hair, red eyes and a robe that made him look like an emperor, he focused on Leon and spoke after eating a bite of pancakes

"Finally remembered you had a family Leo?" He said light heartedly

"I couldn't sleep last night, sorry dad." Leon looked guilty but still walked up to sit down and start eating

"Good boy, eat up and bring back a good result, you've pestered me about this day since you could talk" Ellen seemed relieved that the test would finally be over so she could go back to her normal days instead of having to listen to her son rant about it all day, though she wouldn't complain for having such a dedicated child.

"Alright, get ready and let's get going" the emperor like man spoke once again, he was obviously Leon's father, Rodrig Filsch!

"Hn" Leon nodded.

Some hours later, the masses were gathered Infront of a large alter, familys were encouraging their young to do their best, the young feeling helpless as talent was an innate attribute they had no say in!

An old man stood up around the alter, and gave a loud cough "Ahem!" The crowd instantly went silent, looking up at the old man dressed in a black robe with a sword symbol on it.

"As you all know, this is the talent awakening ceremony! One by one, youths who have recently turned of age must come up and place their hands on the Spirit Orb, the Orb will display a rune with the level of talent the owner posseses."

"Now at once, let us begin!"

The old man pulled out a scroll and read off a name from it "Harry Link! Step forward"

A tall boy, about 6 feet and 6 inches, walked ahead, he had a head full of blonde hair and brown eyes, walking ahead with his skinny figure he arrived Infront of the old man and made a bow "Hello Examiner"

The old man nodded calmly as if he was used to the respectful attitude, "Place your hand on the orb" he said as he pointed at crystal clear orb on a pedestal.

Harry stepped forward and touched the orb with his right hand, closing his eyes and praying for a good result. After a few seconds the orb glew with a blue hue and a rune was formed "238".

"238! Middle Tier Talent" The old man nodded at Harry and dismissed the relieved young man.

The old man waved his hand and spoke "For the commoners present, the spirit orb gives us a number in runic, and we've labeled these numbers into a category of talent. 150 and below is Low Tier, 200 to 400 is Middle Tier, 400 to 700 is High Tier, 700 to 1500 is Profound, and Legend is 10000 and above!"

The crowd began exchanging words and making predictions on who would claim the spot of being the most talented in this batch.

The old man then read another name off the scroll, "Louis Le!"

A beautiful girl walked up to the stage, numerous boys had their eyes shining at her presence, Louis Le was a famous beauty of their Sky City! She placed her hand on the Spirit Orb with confidence and in a flash, a rune appeared "550"

The Old man looked at the girl with bright eyes, "Young Lady, would you like to join our flaming sword sect?"

Louis looked at the old man, taking a quick smug glance at the crowd, she dropped to her knees "Disciple Louis reports to the elder!"

"Good good, move to the side, I will bring you to the sect after the test is over." The old man smiled as Louis walked to his side with a smile.

After calling a few more names, the old man froze for a second as he read the next examinees name "Rodrig... interesting." He muttered under his breath, though his voice not escaping the one who's name was mentioned.

"Leon Rodrig!"

The crowd suddenly went silent. 'Rodrig?' 'THAT Rodrig??' looking around the numerous people looked around to see what outstanding young man carried the name of Rodrig.

Leon stepped forward, walking towards the stage with an elegant yet quick walk. When the crowd saw this handsome young man draped in black that made him seem so exquisite they were shocked, the girls eyes grew bright and the boys thought to themselves 'he's handsome... really handsome. But he's still a little worse than me. Right?' in unison.

Leon walked up and nodded at the old man, no one shocked that he didn't now as his status gave him that right!

Placing his hand on the orb, everyone was fully focused on the result of this young man.

The orb however, didn't shine. It didn't do anything. When it seemed like the orb didn't even realize Leon was there, it suddenly faded, the Spirit Orb at this moment withered away, like it never existed in the first place!

...

If one breathed at this moment, the entire crowd would be able to hear them through this silence.

"What?" The old man was absolutely dumbstruck, how did he disintegrate this artifact??? Even Legends could at most crack it, this monster directly made it vanish into the void of nothingness...then, among the confusion a rune appeared ahead of Leon.

Unlike others it was a word instead of a number "Null"

"What does Null mean?" The mysterious monster in question asked in confusion

The old man could only let out a sigh and say "it simply means there's nothing. Your body has no talent within it."

Alright thats it for today, tried adding some comedy at the end, do tell me in the comments if its any good. i am not a commedian so i dont expect much, see you tommorow!
