Chapter 109: Mavis Talks to a True Coward

~Mavis POV~

I have to admit spending a week in this world has been somewhat fun training these kids… well not really.

That is more of Tatsumi's job and the other members as I just supply the magic to spawn more enemies with my <Illusion Magic>. Quite honestly though it's really fun to see them squirm a bit after they agreed to help training with Ruby and their consents of course.

I even have the magic paper documents to prove it.

No one can say they didn't agree with this I made sure to have evidence. How else have I prepared my Fairy Tail guild with destruction issues?

Money?

Nope by the great legal loopholes exploited by their very great first leader Mavis.

They are very welcome.

*BOOM*

"DODGE!!!"

"YOU ARE INSANE YOU HEAR ME!"

"DODGE!!!"

"AHH!!! NORA!!!"

"Coming Ren!"

"DODGE!!!!"

"AHH!!"

"NO JAUNE QUICK WE HAVE-"

*Bang*

"ACK- SNIPER FIRE!!"

Looks like Tatsumi gravity training and Kaina shooting at them as they hold off to dear life seems to have some interesting effects.

Let's see that would be Jaune, Pyrrha, Nora, Ren, and Yang fighting off against foes that handle long-range attacks under extreme pressure. Also, Tatsumi screaming at them to dodge is not working for them…

"Ack! What the hell man!"

"What did I say?"

*Bzzt*

*BOOM*

"DODGE!!!"

"AHH!!!"

"YEAH! ANOTHER ONE!"

"NORA!!!"

And there goes Tatsumi shooting off his <Railgun> at them under extreme gravity again. Although you do have to hand it to these hunters though they are… I would like to say tough but that would be too kind.

Ah!

More like beating up a test dummy sounds better!

*Shing*

*Clash*

And from the other end is Weiss, Blake, and Ruby are off against Saeko and Hinata who finally arrived at the party a bit late during the two days in the week. But the training with them seems to have improved their endurance at least.

They are the glass canon after all.

Managing to see Saeko hold back with her spirit <Silver Chariot> and Hinata absurd increase speed with that <Hamon> techniques made it quite the formidable foe to handle. Even though they are under 3 times this world's gravity it's frightening how these hunters adapt.

It's almost poetic even but…

Not even taking a side glance I can already feel another threat here as I managed to sense rather annoying someone from behind as I spoke closing my eyes, "You do know for someone that has magic. It's not a secret that I have one so better to reveal yourself."

Taking a side glance with my eyes I see that a raven-like bird appeared but soon changed with magic to her full appearance.

A middle-aged woman consisted of a shallow cut black and red dress with black shorts underneath, with a series of beaded necklaces and a belt that wrapped around her waist and carried her weapon's sheath. Attached also is a long black object that is either fur or feathers, with a red and white bandana material hanging from behind her.

Her forearms bear red armored gauntlets that protrude outwards and black fingerless gloves. She wore black mid-thigh high leggings with red splatter patterns and black heels. She had long black hair and bright red eyes.

This is a person Tatsumi told all of the members to know to be cautious of like this person he calls a coward Raven Branwen.

She merely takes her blades at the ready she takes them out slowly as she began to speak to me as if I'm delusional, "Sorry kid but… it's better that you're Maiden powers is suited for someone else…"

I'm sorry?

*Snap*

As she draws her blade and with a snap of a finger more blue shells of doom with wings were summoned as I began to talk with this very delusional person, "I'm sorry but I wouldn't recommend doing that. Unless you can take on the course of handling <Illusion Magic: Blue Shells> to the face. Then again though what do I expect from a coward."

Coward.

Such a fascinating term to describe such an ugly woman like her.

Tatsumi gave me some warning about this person personally seeing I might be in danger from idiotic people like her and others.

Raven is cynical, patronizing, selfish, and stubborn. She believed her act of "kindness" of saving Yang's life from Neopolitan was sufficient despite having left Yang at a very young age and refused to protect her daughter when in need after that. Raven is intended to be more intimidating the less you know about her.

Despite her great power, she chooses to run away from her problems instead of facing them, sacrificing others as shields to gain herself an advantage. In the end, Raven's survival of the fittest philosophy is just a façade to hide her fear of Salem and her other insecurities.

Because of her prideful and self-centered mentality Raven often fails to measure the consequences of her actions, such as her attempt to manipulate Yang into staying with her and to distrust Qrow and Ozpin by calling Ruby a lost cause, and revealing Salem's existence and insulting Qrow and Taiyang, which only reinforced Yang's determination to reunite with her uncle and sister, and reject Raven further.

She met the previous Spring Maiden the one who is gifted magic in this world, who had abandoned her responsibilities, and accepted the maiden into the tribe. Despite giving her training in her abilities, Raven found the effort to do so unproductively and the Maiden too weak to take advantage of her powers, and subsequently killed her out of "mercy" and inheriting her Maiden powers as a result.

Tightening my fist I can honestly say that I dislike her being her at all…

She is everything that defies the rules of my Guild of Fairy Tail stands for and what's worse…

She is actively refusing to acknowledge her faults and always trying to justify her actions both to others and to herself, often putting the blame on others for them even if she feels guilt for destroying others' lives…

Glaring at this vile woman I began to talk with this coward as I coldly discipline this child in front of me, "Like you are very better than me miss Branwen? At least I'm not a dirty hypocrite and coward. I know what I fight for unlike you. My family and my friends."

Raven beneath the mask could only glare as she tries to 'reason' with about her shrewd idea of 'power' to her, "Listen you don't anything about this world nor its problems… but I can help you train your powers if you join my tribe-

"SILENCE!!"

*BOOM*

Releasing my magic pressure I made sure my magic power didn't skyrocket too much as the fear in the woman's face showed how fucked up she messed up.

That was when I began to calm down as I began to glare at her as my magic was suffocating her as I looked down sadly at her as I spoke heartfully, "Joining up with a band of rapists and murderers? No. It would stain the Fairy Tail Guild name if I did. You speak of power but you are nothing but a coward and hypocrite. You think often dealing with obstacles by going through them instead of going around, and saw strength as all-important in a fight, traits that Yang the very daughter you abandoned has inherited from you."

I frown at the sad idea that Yang is following this pathetic woman as a mother is nothing but a fool drowning in her sins.

But not relenting on the power I hold on her feeling the magic pressure I gave her some words of advice since I managed to scare this woman in her place like I was scolding an enemy, "You Raven Branwen had comrades once. But you threw them away making you weak. Comrade isn't simply a word. Comrades are about the heart. It's the unconditional trust in your partners."

Stepping even closer to her I can feel her fear beginning to hold as I tell this shallow woman what it means to make mistakes and face them while breaking down her meaning of 'power' she deludes herself in, "You Raven think that mistakes are shackles that bind you like you're bond with you're a brother or trusting him but chose to ignore it and agree with your band of misfits but guess what? Mistakes are not shackles that halt one from stepping forward. Rather, they are that which sustain and grow one's heart."

The closer I got the more that this woman is shaking in fear because she knows I can end her but instead I choose to give her the chance to make it up as I finally speak to her while I made her look at Yang and the others, "Raven those kids down there will eventually grow up and when they all grow up, the youths that are going to live in this era. Go forward, youths. Like wind on a field. Your burning blood, sweat, and tears… are as beautiful as a parasol. Show no fear… something that is holding you back a lot…"

Placed my hands on her mask as she tries to move but couldn't because of my pure infinite magic pressure subduing her easily because of her fribble weak mind while I finished my words to her for good, "Your so-called power isn't good at all Raven when you meet a wall you can't break with the power of brute strength alone. There are walls that can't be broken through power alone. But if there is a power that can break through those walls, it is the power of feelings…"

Letting her go Raven did what she did best as sweat fell from her face I let out a final piece of advice as she left, "Unwavering Faith and Resilient Bonds will bring even miracles to your side if you ever reconnect again with your heart. Goodbye foul woman coward."

*Vroom*

With that Raven was gone through her portal with tears coming off from my words or fear of death I don't know nor do I care.

I can only guess my words and power scared her off as she couldn't answer my questions…

Quite the shame really but at least I keep my friends and family safe by their side unlike her… for she is what truly defines the term…

Coward.

A/N: Sorry for the wait hope you enjoyed the chapter with Mavis talking to Raven. Thought it was best when someone like her meets someone like Mavis knowing her background giving her words of advice. Just for you readers to know the RWBY arc is fairly short and I want to hear what world you want to send the members next?

A/N Extra: Also, this is a side note but I'm trying to create fanfic with the MC having the powers of The Gamer but I can't decide on what setting to use since I want to have my hand at it? Should I go with the RWBY setting or do I go with a normal setting with the MC entering literal game worlds to grind also dealing with shady things in his world? Or I would like to hear your ideas of what world first?
