The City

It didn't take long for the trio to make it back to the village. Waiting on them was the village chief and someone Cyrus didn't expect to see. It was his dad and standing next to him was Teddy in his Champion form; he was now a Gaogamon.

"Cyrus!" His father called out to him as he saw him from a distance.

Running over to his son Dan hugged him like he hadn't seen him for years. As soon as the problem happened the Union called him and told him the situation. He immediately told them he would personally go look for him but he couldn't since he was retired. However, they made an exception and allowed him inside to pick him up whenever they found him.

Cyrus could hardly breathe. His dad was 6'3 and built like a bodybuilder not to mention being a silver-ranked tamer. Just as he was about to pass out his dad let him go, and he took a good 10 seconds to catch his breath.

"Dad, you almost killed me, it's only been two days since I last saw you," He said still in pain from what just happened.

"Sorry I was just worried something might have happened, it seems like I didn't have to. Even so, your mom would kill me if I went back with good news," His dad said while leaning against Teddy.

"Yeah, mom does worry a lot. Thanks for coming I know how it is for retired tamers to get into the digital world. Turns out my little mishap was a blessing in disguise," He said as he looked at his dad and Teddy.

The digimon in question was staring at Agni with an intrigued look. This was Cyrus's first time seeing Teddy at his strongest and to be honest, he looked cool. Right now though his attention was completely focused on Agni.

"I see the little rascal has gotten stronger," Teddy said as he walked over and patted Agni on his head with one of his claws.

"Of course I did how else am I gonna hold on to your tail when I bite it," Agni said while trying to jump onto Teddy's back.

"You'll never get stronger than me," Teddy said you could tell he was happy with Agni's progress.

"It's good to see you're safe Cyrus now let's get going I don't want to miss my show." That was all Teddy said as he turned to what seemed to be the direction of the city.

"Yeah let's get going I still have to let your mom know you're safe, plus Teddy gets all cranky when he misses his show." His dad said as he hopped onto Teddy's back.

"Shut up, you make it seem like I'm some old housewife," Teddy said irritated.

"Well, I guess this is goodbye, we'll meet again I'm sure. Now go you're gonna make me tear up," Mike said while fake crying.

"Would you stop you, idiot? The kid's father is right there and you're acting like this. It was nice meeting you kid I can tell you gonna make a name for yourself maybe in the future we can have a friendly spar."Hawk said as he slapped Mike on the back of his head.

"Yeah it was nice meeting you too, let's do that whenever we meet again, later Mike," Cyrus said as he got on the back of Teddy with Agni sitting in front of him.

"Thanks for finding my boy, stay safe," Dan said as Teddy dashed off towards the city.

It was 5 hours later with a couple of breaks in between before they reached the city. There was a huge wall that spanned the whole City and Cyrus almost couldn't see where it ended. As they got closer he saw what looked to be the checkpoint before one could enter the city.

Teddy however didn't stop, he just kept passing through the open gate. His dad must have called ahead to let them know he was coming and one of the guards nodded as they passed by. When they passed through the gate Cyrus was greeted with an amazing sight.

It wasn't the structure of the city or the buildings that amazed him as they were pretty much the same as where he lived. The truly amazing sight was the amount of digimon there just roaming the streets. Most of them seemed to be partner digimon and their tamers but some of them looked to be Natives of the digital world.

It was truly a beautiful sight to see how different life was for digimon here where they could flourish. They kept moving as Cyrus took in the sights they finally stopped when they reached a building that Cyrus realized was the Union base. Getting off Teddy who de-digivolved to Gaomon we walked into the building. As we stepped through the door A woman was waiting for us with a group of teenagers. Cyrus recognized them as the same group that went through the portal with him.

"Hello, Cyrus. I'm glad to see you're doing well. My name is Michelle vice-director of this Union base. I'll be taking you to get settled in then it's off to basic training, you'll also be compensated for the trouble you faced in getting here," She said with a smile while putting her hand out.

"Thanks for all the help," Cyrus said as he shook her hand.

"Guess this is goodbye for a while, make sure the next time I see you you at least silver rank as a tamer. Stay focused. I'll see you in a couple of months good luck." Dan said as he gave his son one last hug before heading towards the portal room.

"See you later Cyrus make sure to take care of the kid and teach him some manners," Teddy said as he followed behind Dan.

Turning around to face Michelle Cyrus nodded his head signaling that he was ready to go. He walked towards the group of teenagers, they looked at him for a second then went back to looking at Michelle.

"Alright, Mr.Gibbs will be teaching you again today so stop loitering if you already know how he is. Cyrus, you're with me I'll get you caught up and ready for your stay," She said as she turned around and started walking away.

The teenagers looked like they had just heard the worst news in their lives. They were all complaining about how much they hated Mr.Gibbs. Cyrus however was already following after Michelle he had a feeling a lot of them weren't gonna make it very far as Tamers. That wasn't his problem though he had his issues to worry about and to fix them he needed strength.
