68 Happy new year chapter!

A chapter on the new year just for all of you!

I went a bit too emotional at the last part but the idea came to me out of nowhere and I just went with the flow haha!..

"And then I said to him - 'Dude! Are you five? I'm not interested in your Ball collection! And I already have a Coltfriend so scram.' You should have seen his face Hahaha!" Said Rainbow Dash to Starfall as they sat together in a restaurant having a romantic dinner and enjoying eachother's company.

"Damn, you were ruthless. Haha! So what did he do?" Asked Starfall and Rainbow grinned.

"Oh, he actually didn't believe me Haha! You remember that day when I kissed you out of the blue as you walked down the street?" She asked and Starfall raised his eyes in surprise.

"That was then? So that hoofballer that looked at me like I kicked his puppy afterwards was..."

"Yep. So you did see him Haha!" Rainbow laughed With Starfall and they continued their talk slowly moving towards a different topic.

"So...is there any reason why Twilight is sneaking around observing Pinkie like some rare animal?" She asked pointing outside the window where the exact thing was currently happening, making Starfall snort in amusement.

"Ah that...She's trying to figure out the Pinkie Sense." He said as if this was explaining everything, but it was enough for Rainbow as she started to laugh.

"Oh Celestia, this is going to be amazing haha!" She laughed quickly putting together Twilight's research obsession and Pinkie Pie's weirdness. But then another thought came to her mind.

"Wait...Why aren't you there trying to figure it out too?" She said realising that Starfall was just as crazy or even more when it came to research weird magical phenomenon.

Starfall grinned.

"Why, obviously because I am on a date with a beautiful lady." He said before turning his expression into a mischievous one.

"And I already figured out most of how it works anyway..." He added in a whisper causing Rainbow to burst out laughing after understanding that he didn't say anything to Twilight so that he could enjoy the current spectacle...

'Also It wouldn't hurt to get some Hydra Sample's...' Starfall thought to himself.

"So...I heard that there's this Young Flier Competition coming up soon. Are you going?" He asked and smiled seeing as Rainbow's eyes lit up in excitement.

"Totally! Im going to breeze through the competition like the amazing Pegasus I am! Haha! I'd love for you to see me though but it's happening in Cloudsdale..." She said the last part a bit sadly.

Starfall just smiled his horn started to glow. Then to Rainbow dash's astonishment, a small cloud flew from the outside and landed in front of Starfall who started to mold it with his hooves quickly forming a Tiara that he placed on Rainbow's forehead.

"Who said I can't go and see you in Cloudsdale Princess." He said with a grin and Rainbow Dash's face lit up as she hugged him in excitement, dispersing the cloud In the process. She totally forgot how amazing Starfall was and then another memory stirred in her head. She remembered that Starfall proposed to train her in magic so that she could become even faster and she was only doing a bit of the techniques he explained to her until now. She should probably take him on that offer as she was still not fast enough to achieve the Sonic Rainboom despite all her training making her slowly become desperate...

It were certainly going to be a number of busy days ahead of them, but she was more than happy to spend them beside Starfall...

"Ughh...I can't! This is so frustrating!" Exclaimed Rainbow stomping her hoof on the ground as Starfall tried to console her.

"Just relax Love. No need to get angry. We were only trying for a few hours and It's not like getting a hold of your magic is a simple thing, especially for a not unicorn. You are already doing much better that others." He said caressing the upset Pegasus between her wings as she huffed in annoyance.

"But I almost got it! but every time I grasp the feeling, it just slips away and I have to try again!" She said annoyed.

"So are you giving up?" He asked with a smirk already knowing what comes next.

"Hell nah! I'm Rainbow Dash, The best flyer in Equestria! And If there's a Pegasus who can figure out Flight Magic then It is Me!" She said with renewed determination and sat back in the meditative position once again trying to achieve the 'impossible'.

"Starfall! Rainbow! Where are you?! We need your help!" A voice suddenly resounded from under the duo, breaking Rainbow Dash's concentration and making her groan.

But despite her annoyance, they quickly jumped from atop the cloud on which they were currently residing and flew towards the Source of the voice, Starfall levitating himself but finally deciding to teleport having been left behind by much faster Rainbow.

Rarity looked at the two that appeared before her and didn't comment on their method of arrival as she had an important thing to tell them.

"There you are! I was looking everywhere for you!" She said in a worried tone, trying to catch her breath, causing the two of them to exchange looks.

"Rarity? What's going on?" Asked Rainbow putting her hoof on her back and letting the other mare mare catch her breath.

"It's-it's Twilight and Fluttershy! uhh...Pinkie...Said that something big was going to happen at the Froggy Bottom Bog according to her Pinkie Sense and Twilight realized that Fluttershy went there to release some frogs! I only heard a little but Twilight was muttering something about Hydra sightings before dashing towards the place with PInkie! We need to go there quickly! Applejack is also on her way but we need to hurry." She said in one breath causing Rainbow Dash to open her eyes in worry.

Starfall was a bit less worried knowing that Twilight should be strong enough to take care of a Hydra thanks to all their training, but he nonetheless decided to follow them knowing that many things could go wrong.

He honestly would have been with her from the beginning if he didn't get so absorbed in training Rainbow dash in magic...

They didn't talk much more before departing in the direction of the Swamp, and Starfall was annoyed that his research on magical Portals was yet to give him a proper spell to transport everyone and he didn't have time to grab any artifact.

He could of course take them using teleportation but that brought some further problems like not knowing the state of their destination, and the power expenditure which wasn't small for teleporting three ponies at once...

So after Starfall took all this into consideration, he teleported the trio to the entrance of the swamp instead, giving himself a few minutes to recover the magic and saving them a fifteen minute journey.

It wasn't long before they found Twilight, Pinkie, Fluttershy, and Applejack, fending off giant four headed Hydra and Twilight was showing that her training wasn't for nothing by gracefully dodging the attacks of the creature while hitting it with magic blasts and trying to scare the Hydra away.

Applejack had one of the heads caught in a lasso while Fluttershy was hiding behind a tree and shielding a nich of forest critters which wasn't really that surprising knowing the shy and kindhearted Pegasus.

Pinkie Pie on the other hand was preoccupied jumping on the second head of the hydra as if it was a trampoline annoying the creature, but no matter what the Hydra did, it couldn't fend the pink Pony off.

"Hey girls you need some help?!" Called out Starfall causing the four to momentarily loose concentration but when Hydra tried to take advantage of it she was met with a kick of a rainbow coloured Pegasus.

"Starfall! Girls! You're here! Can you help us!?" Called out Twilight, as she saw the new arrivals joining the frail.

"That's obvious Darling!" Called Rarity as she used telekinesis to wrap a red cloth from her bag around on of the hydras jaws stopping it from opening its mouth.

The fight only took another few minutes as the monster was easily subdued and bound in some conjured chains. Starfall then convinced Fluttershy to talk with the Hydra, and after a while she managed to find a common ground with the Hydra causing Starfall to grin and the others to look at everything with incredulity.

The hydra agreed to not harm any Ponies in exchange for being left alone and was released after Starfall secretly got himself a few samples from the monster after making sure that it didn't realise...

He even found its nest where a bunch of eggs were placed and he joinked one of them to bring it into his basement...

The girls all congratulated Fluttershy for calming the Hydra and Starfall kissed her on the lips causing the Shy Pegasus to turn completely crimson, but she was happy from all the positive attention.

And then, to his amusement, the same scene that happened in the show actually played out in front of him when Pinkie Pie denied the Hydra being the so called Doozy, the big thing that was about to happen, causing Twilight to finally give up and agree that there are things in the world that are unexplainable, which realisation PInkie Pie deemed to be exactly the big thing she predicted...

The look of incredulity on Twilight's face was so amusing that he made a quick photo by taking a camera out of nowhere.

"Where did you take that camera from?" Asked Applejack, causing Starfall to shrug, to which Pinkie Pie looked at him with squinted eyes as if she was telling him to back of from her territory...

The day ended up with everyone sitting together in the Sugarcube Corner and having a small Party while Rainbow Dash bragged about Starfall teaching her how to use magic.

Every Mare became interested in the topic and Starfall knew that soon he would have no free time to himself, but he wasn't sad about it.

The future looked bright and interesting at the moment and they were all happy...

In the highest tower above the Canterlot castle on a balcony, a purplish blue Alicorn Mare gazed into the distance with her heard leaning on the railing.

She sighed to herself as she watched the Ponies down on the streets enjoying their daily lives and having fun together.

Suddenly, she felt a hoof being placed on her shoulder. She knew who it was so she didn't turn to greet her.

"You miss him Sister...Am I right?..." Asked the voice from behind her and Luna nodded.

"You know...I spend over a thousand years without you...And that time I was always so lonely...but I found solace in the Blueblood family whom I considered my extended relatives...Through all that time, I never once considered marriage...I never had time for romance, and any suitor that came to me always had an ulterior motive while others were intimidated by my size..." She giggled at the last part.

Luna turned towards her sister.

"I don't understand why you are telling me this Sister..." She said and Celestia smiled.

"I'm old Luna...Even with all this immortality, I wouldn't mind taking a break from all those responsibilities. And when it comes to relationships...well... I don't think It would work out with someone who isn't at least as aged as me." She sighed wryly, before caressing her sisters cheek.

"You were stuck on the moon for so long...but it wasn't really you right?...If you think about it, your younger sister status only increased...Even your magic seems to agree...

Luna... We were hundreds of years old back then, but while I am now over a thousand years of age you are still the same little Luna who now seemed to have found her second half..." Celestia smiled.

"Where are you going with this Sister?" Luna asked confused and Celestia smirked before learning towards her ear.

"I was looking for someone to take my place even before your return. But I think I can keep the position for a few more years myself even without your help. As long as you take care of the moon to lessen the load on my magic I don't mind if you go to him..." She winked causing Luna to open her eyes in shock and hope.

"B-but Cissy! I...I don't want to leave you alone again!" She said torn on what to think but Celestia just laughed before hugging her sister.

"I won't be alone. You can visit me whenever you want and I can do the same. We aren't separating like back then and just knowing that you're happy is enough to satisfy me." She said before kissing Luna on the forehead.

"You don't need to decide now. I know you waited for Starfall to figure out that Stamina Spell. Just know that I won't stop you if you wanted to move out. you're not a child after all." She winked and Luna couldn't help anymore and hugged Celestia tightly.

"I love you Sister!" She said and Celestia smiled returning the hug.

"I love you to Luna." She said with a sigh of contentment...
