There was some parts of living as a Blueblood that shouldn't have surprised him. One of them being the dinner with Princess Celestia. Turns out that she usually eats with the members of the noble family and that also means him and his mother.

Of course he wouldn't have been able to eat anything solid yet, but that didn't mean she couldn't bring him here just for the sake of spending more time together.

Turns out that there was only a dozen or so ponies in his family and not all of them had a surname Blueblood. A few of them seemed pompous but not all of them which reassured him. It seemed that even Celestia was not on the best of terms with those few, unbeknownst to them. He would make sure not to become one of those in the future...

It was already a few days since he first managed to levitate a toy. His training was progressing steadily and he was slowly improving his ability to wield magic. Just yesterday he managed to levitate a ball to the ceiling and keep it there for over twenty second! That was a huge leap from his first try!

And what excited him the most was the fact, that it wasn't only his control that improved, but also the amount of magic he could wield! He could clearly feel it! While in the beginning, Starfall could barely feel the magic inside of him when he was casting a spell, as if there was only a tiny bit of it, After those few days he could clearly tell that there was more magic inside of him than it was before. His 'Mana Pool' Increased, while his Mana consumption decreased. He needed to continue that trend and maybe one day, he would become a strong magician!

It really bothered him though, that there were monsters like Pumpkin Cake who could levitate herself and walk through walls while being the same age as him... Was that just the effect of her having a lot of power? Or are unicorn foals normally able to do stuff like this?! Well, whatever the case is, the fact that a foal can do stuff like this without any magical training leads Starfall to the understanding that magic is mostly dependent on the power, imagination and will of the caster.

So in the end, there was nothing else for him to do than train!

But first a nap...

__________

There are certain things that a former fantasy enthusiast has to try when being reincarnated into a magical world and is thinking about learning magic.

One of them is trying to achieve the so called Mage Sight.

As Starfall was still unable to break free from that cursed blanket, he decided to spend his time on channeling his magic through his body. Turns out that it was much harder than he initially expected. Certainly harder than just levitating a toy by sheer determination.

What he needed to do was to first feel his magic and then try to get a hold of it which was not an easy thing to do with how little power he actually had.

He spend almost a week working on that one ability, and his blanket prison sentence was finally over when he eventually succeeded.

And here's where we go back to the topic of the Mage Sight...

When Starfall was performing the action of guiding his magic through different parts of the body, he had the genius idea to inject it into his Eyes with the intent of seeing magic. It shouldn't be hard to imagine that he succeeded...in almost blinding himself...

Thankfully the explosion of light that assaulted him and gave him subsequently a massive headache, wasn't in any way harmful...Turns out that what he saw was actually the magic in the surroundings, mixed with the magic he pushed into his eyes. Starfall simply used too much power and didn't specify which magic he wanted to see so the magic in his eyes was also included in the spectrum...

When he tried using the same magic the next day after the headache subsided, he started with little to no magic and slowly increased the amount until he found the proper amount. The Mage Sight was surprisingly a low energy consuming spell but it was extremely hard to maintain. Starfall though wasn't bothered with the difficulty as the outcome was well worth the effort.

Magic was a truly beautiful thing to behold. He could see it everywhere, be it in the air or in the objects around him. But the most magic he ever saw would always be in other ponies. They would always have a different aura, be it in colour or in the amount but each Pony had magic. Some had more or some had less but all of them had at least a small amount of it.

It was interesting to see how the magic in their bodies moved when they did certain actions.

Pegasi magic would usually gather in their wings and hooves, and aid them in their ability to fly while unicorn magic would normally be connected to their horn. But in truth, most of it usually just resides in their chests as a kind of magical core.

Starfall understood that the more attuned to magic someone is, the more their core would be spread through their body. The magic of somepony with weak magic ability would just stay in one place, while a talented person's magic would be active and fluctuating.

With that theory, Starfall tried to see the magic of Princess Celestia, and he should have probably expected the result... But the three hours long headache afterwards was totally worth the eye-opening knowledge he received...

An alicorn's magic was...wild for the lack of a better.

It wasn't only huge in amount, but it was also constantly shifting and waving in every part of her relatively large body. He would have called the sight mesmerizing if he was not feeling so much headache from the sensory overload...

After that day he promised himself to limit his usage of Mage Sight to weaker power sources, and only check the magic of entities like alicorns when it was truly necessary or he needed it for research purposes... He wasn't a fan of all the headaches after all...

_________

He continued to train in his regular magic training for another few day when he was finally fred from the shackles of the blanket.

His body was finally strong enough to unwrap himself without using magic and his mother came to the conclusion that she needed to finally get him a foalsitter.

As it turns out, she wasn't joking about dragging Cadence from wherever she was currently residing. He could hear his mother berating the young Alicorn about visiting family from the other side of the castle.

As it turns out Cadence was actually related to the Pegasi branch of the Royal Family which explained why in his past life she was said to be related to queen Amore of the Crystal empire.

Starfall had to admit that She was really a beautiful Pony and it was no wonder that She was the, yet unofficial, princess of love. When she first saw him, she instantly went to pamper him and he enjoyed the attention of the pink Alicorn.

After that he would usually find himself under the care of Cadence who took great delight in Foalsitting him. She started with showing him picture books and teaching him different things that he already knew but he acted as if he was oblivious to that stuff. The only thing that he listened attentively to was how to read as ponies had a very different alphabet from humans even if the language was...wait, they weren't speaking English! After a month of living here, Starfall realized that none of the ponies actually spoke English and he understood everything! He thanked whatever deity send him here for that gift, as it would be a total bother if he had to learn the language by himself...

But going back to the topic of Cadence.

She was a delightful person to have around, and Starfall could easily see himself becoming close friends with the Alicorn. Even his acting like a foal wasn't a problem for him but more like a game that he played with the girl and the days passed by quiet enjoyably with his personal training and the all-powerful foalsitter...

There was one thing nagging him though... There was no mirrors in this room! he needed a mirror to check his magic out, as until now the glimpses he got while being carried around didn't help him much. He couldn't just look at himself and see his magic as foals Body didn't help him in that matter, and he knew that seeing magic in reflection was not a problem as he already checked it out. Mirrors were like a natural barrier for his Mage Sight as it turns out and they perfectly reflect the magic in front of them. This could be a very useful piece of information if used right, but he still wasn't sure what was the reason for this reaction as he knew that magic wasn't actually stopped by the mirrors. he checked...

________

It was another few days of training and visits from people like Princess Celestia and his Father who would look for any possibility of seeing him, before he finally had a chance to stand in front of a mirror without anyone keeping an eye on him.

He sneaked out of his crib and trotted out of his room for his first ever solo adventure through the castle. Yes, He could already walk people! It wasn't hard to figure out and his body was in the end not of a human baby but a pony. And while they were in many aspects different from their Equine counterparts on earth. The fact that Newborn foals could walk very early was not much different in this situation. Of course he wasn't able to walk from the very start like earth horses but he was still much faster in that regard than a human baby ever could.

Like this, with a little help of Levitation, Starfall found himself in front of a room of the maid responsible for this part of the castle.

It was none other than Twilight Velvet! That was the reason why he occasionally saw her and her son walking together around the Castle. She was very liked here and no one minded when she brought her son to work. In the end, she was a talented unicorn housemaid, and her talent in magic made this work an easy and enjoyable occupation.

Her husband Night Light, was a Magic theory writer and on the side liked to make fantasy novels that his wife enjoyed reading in her free time.

Starfall learned all this from paying close attention to people's discussions and interaction.

He also learned that she should be now working on cleaning the south wing of the castle so her chamber should be empty!

He silently entered the room and took in the sight of a neatly arranged workroom filled with cleaning utensils, nice furniture and most importantly...a mirror!

He jumped right in front of the mirror and activated his Mage Sight.

It was time for Research!
