Dragon Fire.

A bit late but It's here. Hope you like this chapter. It became a bit serious at the end but don't worry. Starfall would make damn sure to avoid the worst scenario possible. You know what I'm talking about. *wink wink*

"Okay Spike. Give me a flame please." Starfall said to the little dragon, who without any hesitation breathed a green flame onto a magical runic bonfire in the center of the lab.

The flame mixed with the magic supplied by the device, and stayed there floating right above the construct, sustained only with the magic that was being provided.

"Perfect! With that there won't be any need for you to bother coming here every time we want to research Dragon Fire. Thank you Spike." Starfall ruffled his head, making the dragon smile.

"It's ok Dad! I wouldn't mind helping you anyway, but I'd appreciate the free time it gives me. Though I was wondering, wouldn't my enchanted message fire be different from a regular Dragon Fire?" Spike asked curiously but Starfall shook his head.

"Of course not Spike. The teleportation magic comes from inside you and not from the fire. This magic had been cast on your egg originally giving you the magical imprint, and without your intent, the fire that you would produce is just a regular Dragon Fire." Starfall explained and Spike nodded in understanding. //while author wasn't sure if that's how he originally made it but just went with it XD//

"Right...I knew that..." He said a bit embarrassed making Starfall snort.

"Alright champ, come on or you'll be late for your date." Starfall winked at Spike who blushed and spluttered.

"Wha-!? That's not-!"He tried to defend himself but Starfall closed the doors to the lab with a wink, and The lab once again fell into silence, the only sound coming from the green magical bonfire in the middle of the room.

Starfall walked around the fire with his eyes full of curiosity.

It wasn't his first time seeing or even researching Dragon Fire, but it still didn't diminish the interest he had in the magical fire. The swirling energies clearly visible inside of the green inferno were visibly different from the regular mundane fire, While his Mage sight provided a lot of knowledge about how mouldable and interesting the Fire actually was... If a Dragon worked hard enough, he could probably gain control of the fire and use it to cast magic In a similar manner to a unicorn. The idea wasn't new for him. He had been trying to teach Spike Dragon Magic for quite a while with mixed results, and while they were yet to achieve anything significant, Starfall was proud of how hard working Spike was under his tutelage.

The doors opened with a whoosh as Dr Whooves walked inside carrying a box filled with different items.

"I see that the Magical Bonfire works as intended?" He asked and Starfall looked at Whooves with squinted eyes.

"I told you it's "Magical Pyre"! And yes it works quiet perfectly if I'm being honest. The small Magic Generator mounted at the base is more than enough to keep the Pyre aflame indefinitely." Starfall explained while putting pressure on the word "Pyre".

Whooves rolled his eyes at Starfall's naming sense but decided not to argue.

"that's Dandy! So how about we begin some tests? there's a number of things I wanted to check out. It isn't everyday you get to research Dragon Fire." Whooves asked while tapping on the box he brought with himself.

"Sure! Let's start with the burning capability. I'm interested in comparing the Dragon Fire to a regular fire." Starfall said with an unusual excitement.

"That... isn't very scientific to be honest..." Whooves looked at Starfall funny, but he just grinned sheepishly, at his expression.

"Ok, I just want to burn some stuff, can you blame me?" He admitted without any embarrassment and Whooves just facehoofed...before smirking...

"No. I get ya. Let's burn some things my friend." The Stallion grinned mirroring Starfall and a brohoof sealed their plans for the next few hours...

"Ok, Ok! Now Add some boomslang root... Carefully... Carefully...And..."

*BOOM*

"Hahaha! Nice! That one was pretty Good!" Starfall exclaimed excitedly as whooves walked over with a soothed muzzle and a goofy grin on his face, leading Starfall to another bout of laughter.

"Bahahaha! You alright?" Starfall asked trying to contain his laughter.

"I might need an eyebrow regrowth Potion from miss Zecora but other than that I'm completely fine." Whooves said without breaking his grin.

Suddenly the doors burst open.

"Did somepony say, Potions!?" A wild Pinkie Pie appeared with a basket full of dangerously growing treats and candies.

"Uhh...Pinkie? What are those?" Starfall asked looking at the magically radiating sweets with a hint of worry.

"These? These are the Potion candies you game me the idea for! Zecora was more than happy to help me with the idea! She rhymed something about "an idea most daring, with consequences glaring" so she probably liked the idea as much as me!" The Pink mare explained to Starfall's and Whooves' consternation.

"Look Look! For example this! This is a Colour Changing muffin! It doesn't do much other than changing colours but I want to make them change the taste depending on the colour but is still don't know how! Or This! A Tooth Cleaning Loli Pop! No more brushing your teeth! And it taste delicious! There's even a chocolate flavoured, digestible shampoo! and a levitating cotton candy cloud! Discord had a good idea and Zecora figured out how to make a real one! And there there's...'

Pinkie Pie didn't stop for breathing while explaining all her candies and the more she talked, the more Starfall was impressed.

They actually made a lot of pretty amazing stuff in the span of...a few days? He could se the researcher spark in Pinkie's eyes. The same one he had when working on his own research...and he liked it. It was clear that Pinkie found something that really spoke to her just like making parties.

"...and Meena helped a lot in making those too! You should have seen her Sugar! She was so excited! I never saw her so happy while helping me make those candies!" Pinkie Pie suddenly said stopping Starfall in his tracks. Seems like Pinkie wasn't the only one who found enjoyment in making magical treats.

"That's great Pinkie. I'm very happy for you. You clearly put a lot of work into those candies. Say, do you think there's any sweet in that basket that could help regrow the eyebrow by chance?" Starfall asked while hugging a happy Pinkie Pie and giving her a searing kiss that she happily accepted.

She rummaged in the basket before taking out a Wiggling Jelly.

"Here you go! One Hairy Jelly coming right up!" She presented the Jelly to Whooves who accepted the Jelly thankfully even though he was a bit wary of the Magical Treat.

"And a colour changing muffin for you Sugar!" Pinkie Pie said while giving him said muffin who he happily accepted.

Thanks Pinkie, I appreciate it." Starfall said warmly receiving a happy smile in return.

"I need to go! I wanted to present the candies to all my friends! Bon appetit!" The Mare said before disappearing In the blink of an eye.

Starfall looked at Whooves who just shrugged and looked at the Jelly before unceremoniously throwing it into his mouth and chewing.

"Huh, it taste pretty good...but I don't feel any- *FWOOMP*

The Stallion suddenly found himself covered in a thick ball of brown hair growing from all the parts of his body. His muffled voice came incomprehensible to Starfall who tried his best not to suffer from asphyxiation. His laughter at seeing Whooves as a ball of fur pushing him over the edge as he rolled and wheezed in laughter...

It took only a spell from Starfall to remove all the excessive hair from Whooves, who now sported a perfectly clean and smooth coat and mane, with his eyebrows firmly in place without any signs of burning.

He was still giddy remembering the situation and should probably mention that to Pinkie later, but for now he still had this colour changing muffin to take care of.

"How much do you bet that it's going to change your coat colour?" Asked Whooves suddenly and Starfall had to stop for a moment, realising the more than likely possiblity as he was about to chomp on the muffin.

He looked at the muffin and shrugged.

"No bet. But it doesn't bother me If it does anyway." Starfall shrugged in amusement before munching on a piece of the muffin.

He could instantly feel the temporary magic of the potion infused muffin try to change his coat colour, but he realised that his magic was to strong for the Potion to take effect with just a piece of the muffin eaten.

What it did though was stir his already unstable magic and cause Starall...to sneeze...

*Achoo*

which was subsequently followed with him shooting a blast of magic out of his horn and dropping the muffin straight into the Dragon Fire in the middle of the room.

"Woah!? Starfall! How did you do that!?" Whooves asked Starfall who looked up in confusion at what did the Stallion meant only to notice a purple hole in space slowly closing itself, bit he could recognise the streets of Ponyville through said hole which meant that...

"But...How could I make a portal?...This is a Sub-Alicorn tier spell!" Starfall muttered in confusion. Only the strongest unicorns or an Alicorn could create a portal without an artifact...Was he already that strong?

"Uh...Starfall?..." Suddenly the concerned voice of Whooves broke his concentration.

He looked up, only to see his friends slowly backing away, looking at something with growing fear on his face.

Starfall followed his eyes, trying to figure out the situation, but as he finally found the source of his worry, he also started to back away.

Because the same muffin he had dropped just a moment ago, was currently suspended in the middle of the Dragon Fire, it's colour a glowing lime green unchanging despite its previous disposition, and it was visibly glowing brighter and brighter absorbing all the Dragon Fire while vibrating menacingly.

Starfall instantly knew that something bad was about to happen. His eyes moved to his Friend and assistant just as the automatic safety barriers separated the Magic Pyre and the unstable muffin from its surroundings.

"Get out of here Whooves! We have Code 17! Magical Anomaly!" He screamed as his hooves led him to the doors of the Lab his horn on the ready to activate all he could so that they could contain the unstable muffin.

whooves didn't wait for his order, already galloping towards the nearest wall where the security system had been previously installed, and disconnected the Generator from the Magical Pyre.

Sadly that wasn't enough as even without the additional Fire, The Anomaly was already soaked enough in energy and it's rapid spinning continued to accelerate.

Starfall activated protective metal shields that rose from the ground and surrounded the Fire, aiding all the magical Shields that were already in place or joined the frail.

And then it happened.

A Blinding green light erupted from where the Anomaly had been previously, destroying the metal shields and consuming a number of magic shields by a green glowing Fire that didn't resemble Spikes regular Dragon Fire.

This Fire felt wrong, and the way it destroyed everything on its way clearly spoke of its power.

It were only the last few shields which finally managed to stop the fire from reaching the

two stallions, but what was left in the center of the room, made the two of them shiver in shock.

Melted concrete... lava emanating a green shim... and no sign of there ever being anything else other than devastation...

Whooves was terrified by the shocking turn of events, but Starfall's mind was focused on something totally different...

Wasn't that a balefire bomb?...A mix of alchemy and Dragon Fire...

The Stallion shivered...He was going to do his damn best to avoid this knowledge ever leaving this lab... There would be no Nuclear War in Equestria if he had something to say about it...
