106 Where Is My Peace?
"We had a tough manager at the time, I remember I had to go without anything sweet for nearly half of the league's duration," Ryou smiled wryly.
"Sounds tough, and it looks like it is finally starting to affect Marin as well," Rin shook her head then turned to Yuuya "How long has she been on a diet?"
"Why are you asking me that?" Yuuya asked flatly and Rin pointed at Marin.
"Wahhh! The fish tempura is great!! Ugh, Vegetable but it is Tasty~~!" Marin was too far gone to answer that and besides…
"I am sure you know about what she is up to," Rin said with somewhat of a grin, but Yuuya didn't pay her any mind and answered.
"…She started her diet this morning," and the surroundings became silent.
"…I see," Rin was more deadpanned than Yuuya at this moment.
The same was true for Ryou and Shingo, Marin was in this state after only one day of dieting. No, not even a few hours have passed yet.
Taking advantage of the situation Yuuya started to eat quietly while ignoring the gazes from the rest of the class.
"What is happening here?" Grayfia who had just arrived asked after she saw that everyone's expressions were a bit weird.
"Ah, no it is nothing, Anyway Grayfia c'mon sit down," Rin said and took an empty seat from nearby.
They were all going to have lunch in the classroom since they all got food from home. Now for the important question, at least from Yuuya's perspective…
'Why are they all gathered around here?' Yuuya thought looking at the group around him.
Rin, Ryou, Shingo, Yukine, Nuwa, Akira, and another girl who he didn't know, no he knew her name but didn't know the person in question.
"Hello, My name is Kazama Kaede," The girl with red hair tied in a ponytail and crimson eyes smiled at Yuuya with a wave, it seemed she was already acquainted with everyone else and he was the only one that remained.
Yuuya nodded slightly and ate silently.
"Don't think he is rude alright? He is always like that," Rin said to Kaede who…
"Of course, I won't think like that Rin!" Her reaction was a bit strong but not out of order.
"Haha, I see, anyway on the matter of diet, Yuuya do you have something like that?" Rin threw the conversation back to Yuuya.
"Hmm, I am also really curious about that," Ryou seriously wanted to know, the reason for that was Yuuya had a very impressive build.
His height was one thing but his body was something that attracted a lot of attention, since it was easy to see that he was packing a great amount of muscle under his clothes.
And other people around were also interested to know more about Yuuya since he barely talked to anyone aside from Marin, Grayfia, and a few people.
"I don't really have a particular diet," Yuuya answered flatly and started to eat again.
"What? Is something like that possible?" Rin looked at Ryou, there was no need to even think that Yuuya was lying.
"Some people are like that, also even the food Yuuya is eating now looks really balanced, so I think he doesn't need to pay special attention to the food," Ryou has actually seen Yuuya eat a whole cake in a shop inside the commercial area.
So, it didn't look like he ever followed a specific diet, he just ate whatever he had.
"Hmm? Now that I look at it, isn't Lucifuge-senpai and Tenjou-kun's bento the same?" Kaede said while looking at their bento.
"Wait now that you say that!!" Rin also just noticed it and looked between the two boxes.
"Yeah it is like it was made by the same person," Kaede blinked and looked at Yuuya, the word around the school was that Yuuya was really good at cooking.
Because of that, her mind raced quickly and…
'So, did he make it? But why does Lucifuge-senpai has the same food? No, don't tell me they…'
"Ho~, what is going on here I wonder?" Rin smelled something interesting and it wasn't the food.
'I knew there was something going on but, Is it already too late for Marin?' Rin wondered while looking at Yuuya and Grayfia.
Yuuya didn't look like he would answer cause his mouth was full of food, so her gaze went to Grayfia.
"The thing is…" Hearing those words everyone around them stopped in place.
Rin and Kaede had severe expressions on their faces albeit for different reasons.
"… I am a maid at Tenjou-sama's house, so I prepared the food," Grayfia smiled slightly and the others blinked a few times before turning to Yuuya.
"Damn, that reason is more shocking than the one I was thinking of," Rin leaned back into the chair as if to take it all in.
"Is Yuuya from some big family?" Ryou asked since that seemed to be the only way Yuuya having a maid made sense. No normal family is hiring a full-time maid.
"Well, Yuuya knows the Princess of Ousei Academy, so it is possible," Yukine said flatly while eating, she was the one who seemed the least affected by this.
"I-If that is true then their table manners make sense," Shingo said and the others nodded, they do remember how the two eat.
"Hoho, to think I would meet such a worthy rival, I couldn't be happier, But Tenjou-kun know this, the title of 'Young Noble of Ousei Academy' will always belong to me," Akira said while pointing at Yuuya with a dramatic pose.
"He should be the 'Noble of Ousei Academy' to being with, You are the challenger here," Rin deadpanned, 'cause Yuuya was actually the closest to the title of Noble in the school than anyone else.
"Rin-chan you are supposed to back me up here!!" Akira shouted a little and Rin tilted her head.
"Why would I do that?" Akira could only sit back down after that, he was defeated.
But the others also agreed to this since the more they thought about it, the more sense it made.
'Did I just hear someone sigh in relief?' Nuwa thought as she looked around before looking at Marin who had just finished her lunch.
"Ah! Grayfia-chan!!" Marin jumped from her seat at the sight of Grayfia and made a beeline for her, the reason was obvious.
"The food was sho Good!! You totes saved my life, Thanks a bunch!!"
"I see, would you like to have a bento daily?" Grayfia asked making Marin sit down.
"Really? But wouldn't that be a bit too much?" Even though Marin said that her face showed clearly that she wanted it.
'You come over almost daily anyway,' Yuuya deadpanned, but that thought was better left in his head.
"No it isn't anything like that, it would be helpful to me as well," Grayfia still wanted to see the results of the plans she made. And more importantly…
'Marin-san needs to be healthy,' Grayfia thought as Marin's face brightened up.
"Grayfia you rock!! I love you a bunch!!" Marin hugged Grayfia tightly with a big smile.
"Oi Oi, what is this turning into?" Rin's face twitched, what was going on here?
"A weird triangle," Yukine said flatly, but most of the people here didn't know what she was talking about, but leaving that aside.
"Marin, did you know about Lucifuge-senpai being a maid?" Kaede asked, she had become a good friend with Marin. And seeing how close Marin was to the two, it was likely that she already knew.
"Umm, She looks criminally cute in her uniform," Marin said with a sagely nod.
"Why do you look like a middle-aged man doing that?" Rin pointed it out and others could see the resemblance.
"You will never understand that we anime fans are united at heart, so we all look the same when we are appreciating the things we like," Marin crossed her arms and laughed.
"There she goes again," Nuwa sighed and the others could kind of understand Marin's point.
And then one thing led to another as they all talked till the end of lunch break.
'Why do they always gather around me?' Yuuya thought as this happened every time there was a break between periods or the lunch break.
Rin, Ryou, Shingo, Kaede, Nuwa, and Akira would come to his desk and then chat with him, Yukine, Marin, and Grayfia who came during the lunch break, they'd hang out there till the end of the breaks.
This has been going on for some time now but in the past two days, it had somehow started to happen more often, the only time Yuuya has any semblance of silence was when class was in session.
'There is Apophis at Home who won't let me sit in peace,' Yuuya wondered if he would be able to properly relax at school like this.
"What's going on in that pretty little head of yours?" Yuuya turned his head and looked at Apophis.
