Mysterious Crystal

"Argh... It hurts..." I gasped

"Wait, it hurts? Even dead I can feel pain? What a bad joke" I said groggily

As my consciousness started to return little by little I realized that I'm still alive, barely but alive nonetheless.

As I open my eyes the only thing I can see is the abyss from the cliff and way in the bottom is the Meran Forest.

While getting my bearings I realize that I'm stuck on a dead tree growing on the wall of the cliff, the tree is shaking and cracking from the strong winds.

My body hurts so much i can barely breathe, i probably have a couple of ribs broken, aside from that, my shoulder is dislocated. Luckily I'm not bleeding profusely, aside from a few scratches.

While assessing my body's condition, the tree started to crack.

In panic, I start to look for a way out, and luckily for me, right to the left of the tree is a small indentation on the rock wall.

I slowly start to crawl there to save my life, while the tree starts shaking more and more, threatening to fall down at any second.

Every little movement I make sends pangs of pain from all over my body, after what seemed like an eternity I managed to get near the ledge and right when my only functioning hand grabs the wall, the tree falls down.

I end up hanging with only one hand from the cliff's wall, with my other arm completely incapacitated, i can only try to climb with my healthy arm.

While starting to lose grip, many scenes flash through my mind.

Lana's beautiful blue eyes, constantly looking out for me, Mark's contempt and attacks that I haven't been able to get payback for, and my mother's face, 10 years ago, while on his deathbed, asking me to live happily, to be strong.

"There's no f*cking way i'm dying in such a pathetic way!!!" I scream.

While screaming I start to pull myself up the ledge with every ounce of strength I have in my battered body.

Finally with much effort I managed to pull myself up, then I hooked my leg on the edge, and finally climbed up the small indentation.

"I will get payback, i'm never letting anyone else walk all over me again" while saying this and grudgingly thinking how to get back to fatty Mark and that baldie, i fainted.

Feeling pain and pangs of hunger I woke up, to see the sun high in the sky.

"It seems that half a day has passed," I said looking up at the sky.

While thinking that, I grab the hem of my shirt and bite on it, while doing that I grab my dislocated arm and with a hard move I put my shoulder back in its place.

"Hmph!!" i grunt because of the pain i felt

I have no more choice than to put it back myself, if i want a chance to get back up the cliff.

Waiting some time for the pain in my shoulder to die down, I start looking around me, to see if I can find a way back to the city.

I'm in a small indentation in the rock wall of the cliff, no more than half a meter deep, two meters tall and about a meter wide. The back of it is covered in rocks of different sizes.

To see what's behind those rocks and to make more space for myself I started moving the smaller rocks to the edge and throwing them down.

"I hope there's no one down there, or they're gonna get hurt hahahaha" I said to distract myself from the monotonous work and the pain and hunger I'm feeling.

I know it might be a useless endeavor but I have to do something to not start despairing.

After a couple of hours of hard work, as i'm moving a rock the size of my head from the ground i fell a small breeze coming from the other side of the wall

"There's a cave here, and it has another connection to the outside" i scream, as i know than a cave can only have air currents if there is two entrances to it

"I just hope the other entrance is not also on the cliff's wall"

As I finally move enough rocks to crawl in the space between them and enter the cave.

Once inside, I see a small luminescence from little crystals embedded in the rocks.

"Earth element crystals Huh... There are two or three I can see and from their glow they're low grade ones" i said feeling disappointed.

If they were from a rarer element or of higher level, I would have been able to use one as my catalyst in my awakening. But whatever the case, I can still take them with me and sell them.

I hit the wall with a fist sized rock that I grabbed from the floor, making the Earth Crystal fall off, I picked them up and held them as a makeshift torch.

With this I have five earth crystals, after selling them I can at least buy a Low level Wind Crystal or Water Crystal.

"Things are looking better for me hahahaha" I give a small laugh and start humming a song as I walk further into the cave under the brownish light of the crystals.

"It feels good to be alive, it's like they say, after a streak of bad luck, good things start to happen"

A few minutes after following the tunnel, I spot a big light illuminating the cave from a corner where the wall turns abruptly.

As I cautiously approach the bend in the path I start to think what could be causing such a bright light.

As I reach the bend, I peek from behind the wall, only to see a human skeleton, and in his hand the most beautiful crystal I could ever imagine.

It was glowing with a beautiful silver light with tinges of purple.

I break into a run to grab the crystal and as i do so i feel the enormous elemental energy contained inside.

"It's an elemental crystal" I start maniacally laughing and crying at the same time, feeling the great amount of energy contained inside, it's obviously a Peak Level one.

"I can finally compete on even grounds with those wealthy guys" as I continue to laugh, the movements I make, cause the injuries in my ribs to ache painfully and I start coughing for air.

"A silver purplish light, what kind of element is this one?" I wondered as I sobered up from the pain, looking at the light coming out of my hand.
