Chapter 36

Drake opened his eyes as he stared at the ceiling, feeling the sunlight that came into the room from the open window.

He winced a bit as he got up from the bed as he remembered what occurred yesturday.

' Damn that guy is a monster. ' Drake thought.

He then opened his eyes and looked to his left. His eyes widened as he then became annoyed as he saw Elden sitting in a chair eating some sweets

" Oh your done. So how you doing? " Elden asked as he took a bite out his sweet.

" Better. Anyway can have some? " Drake asked a she looked at the sweets.

" Already got one for you. " Elden said as he tossed a box of sweets to Drake. Drake opened the box and started eating.

" So why are you here? " Drake asked.

" Oh come on did you already forget the bet? " Elden asked.

" Huh?! " Drake asked as he made a confused face before thinking about yesturday.

" Oh. That bet. Yeah I remember. So what do have to do? " Drake asked fully serious.

" Just take a day off to rest. " Elden said casually. Drake stared at him in confusion while blinking.

" That's It? "

" That's it. "

Silence followed as Darke just stared trying to process what happened while Elden casually ate his sweets in the background.

" Okay but why? " Drake asked.

" Oh that. The coup with be easy. Everything has been planned out. Everyone just has to relax for today and tomorrow he coup will happen. " Elden said.

" I see. What should I do? "

" Just raid this royals compound, knock him out while checking the entire place and bring him to the castle. "

" That's all. "

" Yep. You just have to raid his compound. How you do it doesn't matter as long as you get him. "

" Oh good. Now it's just a matter of how I should storm into his castle. Well whatever I have time and options. " Drake said.

" That's the spirit. " Elden said. Elden then got up and left the sweets on the table near Drake.

" Ight Imma head out. See you tomorrow. " Elden said as lazily waved his hand to Drake.

" Yeah. Bye bro. " Drake said before Elden teleported out of the room.

Fox was sitting on the couch in Eldens office as she was reading a new book she bought from the store a few days ago.

On the table she had some snacks she had taken from the kitchen to eat.

As she was sitting she suddenly felt something on top of her head. She sighed as she knew who it was.

" So did you get Drake to join our side? " Fox asked not even surprised anymore by the fact Elden placed his chin on her head.

" Of course I did. Anyway is the book good? " Elden asked as he looked at the book.

" Yeah it's pretty good. You can read it after I finish it. " Fox said slowly as Elden tried to take it.

" Okay. " Edlen said as he got up and sat on the couch next to her.

Silence rained over them as neither of them talked. The sound of the pages of the book flipping over cpukf be heard. Fox kept reading the book trying her best to ignore Eldne who just looked at her.

' Again really. Sigh let's just finish this. ' She thought as she looked at him.

" What do you want? " Fox asked in a tired voice.

" A spar. Battling Datke was really fun and I still feel the need to fight so can you please spar with me? " Eldne asked politely.

Fox sighed as she closed her book.

" Just let me change first. " Fox said as she got up and went to change into something more comfortable to fight in.

As the door closed, Elden sighed a he looked up to the ceiling.

" Even after 3 years you still try to act like I don't know you. " Elden muttered as he remembered the shaking of her hands when she held the book. Her shaking hands were an indication that she wanted to fight something.

" Well can't say this won't be exciting. " Elden said as he got up.

" You say that as if you're the only one. "

Elden looked to his right and saw Fox in her comfortable clothes that she uses to fight in.

" Your right about that. Anyway let's go. " Elden said as he grabbed Fox's hands and teleported them to open field full of rocks.

" So what's our score so far? " Elden asked as he started stretching.

" 300 battles. 149 times I won and 151 times you won. " Fox said as she stretched as well.

" I see. Well guess it'll be another win for me. " Elden said.

" You said before and where did that get you?" Fox said with a teasing smile.

" Yeah yeah. You beating my ass. Consider this my revenge for that one time. "

" If you can actually win, otherwise it'll just be an embarrassment. " Fox said with a smirk.

" True. So shall we start? " Elden said as he took his position.

" Sure. " Fox said with a smirk on her face.

Elden stood away from fox as they stared at each other before they rushed at each other.

Elden aimed a punch straight at Fox face who tilted her head to dodge and aimed a punch to Eldens gut. Elden say this coming and redirected her punch with his left hand.

He then quickly aimed a his knee towards her stomach. Fox dodged the attack by moving to the left.

She then lifted her leg and aimed a side kick to Eldens head. Elden ducked his head under the attack and quickly sweeper her other leg.

Fox fell to the ground before rolling to the right and got up quickly as Eldens right hand missed her and hit the ground creating a mini crator.

Elden looked at Fox and smirked as she smirked back.

" You know you look so much better when you have a smile on your face. " Elden said as he chuckled a bit at Fox's face.

Fox had a small blush on her face as she was looking at Elden. Elden just chuckled as Fox immediatly stopped blushing and became annoyed.

Elden looked at her and made a ' come on ' motion with his hand. Fox obliged as she rushed at him.

The mana started pouring out as they decided to clash. Fox rushed at Elden as her mana covered her hands.

Elden smirked as he quickly dodged her first punch.

* boom *

A large cut appeared on the terrain as Elden jumped back to avoid the after strike.

' Tch her sound punch is still annoying as usual. ' Elden thought as he grinned.

Fox smirked as she disappeared and appeared on his left with her right hand pulled back.

Elden smiled as he quickly switched places with Fox, before pulling a block of stone from the ground to use as a sheild.

Fox quickly used a back kick covers in her mana. She smashed through the stone. Her leg approached Elden but he switched places again with a small stone from the smashed big stone.

* boom *

Fox leg created another sonic boom as the attack created another large cut on the ground , carving up the terrain.

Elden appeared next to her with hand raised towards her.

' Almighty push. '

An invisible force blasted Fox back. She had her arms crossed as she hit the ground. She can flipped and stopped skidding.

She looked up and saw Elden right in front of her face. Her face had no worry or surprise as she opened her mouth.

" Blast away. "

Elden punch stopped a few inches from her face as he got blasted back. He went at a fast speed before planting his feet into the ground.

He started skidding back before heading back at a 90 degree angle as a air slice went right above him.

He quickly got himself together as he teleported above Fox ready to deliver a towards kick from above.

Fox noticed and turned around to take the attack.

* wham *

The force from the kick wedged Fox into the ground. She grinned as her arms felt heavy front the kick.

Elden teleported a few feet away from here immediatly as she tried to grab him.

Elden looked at Fox who smiled sweetly at him. Edlen was in guard as he watched Fox carefully.

Fox raised her hands and slammed them onto the ground.

* Boom *

He ground started splitting up as they started to be raised into the air. Cracks appeared all over the battlefield.

Dust was spread into the air as Elden jumped form rock to rock as the terrain changed. The broken rocks caused more dust to form as they hit the ground.

Elden stood in the middle of the dust cloud as he stood still.

' Hmm what's she up to? ' Elden thought as he used his spectral sight.

He could see Fox standing outside the dust cloud.

* buzz *

' Hmm. Those sound like bugs. ' Elden thought. He turned off his spectral sight to see the bugs crawling up his legs.

Elden didn't flinch as he kept listening while looking at the bugs on his legs.

Elden then grinned widely as he looked to his left. Fox appeared in front of him and aimed a punched to his face.

'Clever girl. '

* Boooommmm *

The dust cloud got blown away as well as most of the terrain behind Elden. The ground was carved.

With Elden, he wa shrinking as he looked at the fist inched away from his face and Fox who's eyes widened as she noticed her punch couldn't reach him.

She quickly retreated back as she looked at Elden.

" Okay how did you do that? "

" I should be asking you that. A sound based illusion! That's fucking awesome. " Elden said he grinned.

" Thanks. " Fox said as she smiled with a tiny blush on her cheeks.

" I had got the idea from Joker for illusions and decided that I can make an illusion by making my target hear certain sounds. Like with you for the bugs. "

" Damn that's awesome. " Eldne said with a smile. Fox also smiled before asking..

" Anyway how did you stop my punch? "

" A knew spell I made. You basically can't touch me as everything that approaches slows down the further you try to reach me. "

Fox eyes widened at the revelation.

" Are you serious? Damn now I can't harm you." Fox said as she sighed.

" Yep. I couldn't stop your attacks before since you could get past my defences. " Elden said as he remembered the first time that happened.

* flashback *

Fox closed in on Elden with her normal expression with her right hand pulled back.

Elden saw this and made a void wall in front of him, planning to stop her attack before counter attacking.

* boom *

When her hand hit the void wall, the sound travelled through it and hit Elden. Eldens eyes widened as he felt pain all over his body from the attack and got pushed back, spitting put blood.

* Flashback end *

Needless to say, everyone in his squad cried tears of joy as they watched their captain get hit for the very first time. They even mad that day a momentous occasion to celebrate as they held a party for the next 2 years.

Elden was annoyed and tried to rectify this problem.

" Now, I. Don't. Have. To. " Elden said with a smile. Fox had a tick mark on her head as she knew that she wouldn't be able to hurt him.

" Sigh that's annoying and fucking unfair. " Fox said pouting a bit.

Elden smiled as he looked her pouting face.Fox noticed and asked him..

" Why are you smiling? "

" Oh that I'm just so proud at how far you have come." Elden said while wiping a tear.

" Was I that bad before? " Fox asked curiously and a bit angry.

" Nope. I just feel so proud that the cold uncaring person has come so far. " Elden said as he gave her a hug.

Fox blushed hard before trying to escape.

" Can you let go? " She asked while trying not to sqeak.

" Sure. " Elden said as he let go. " But still though, I remember the first time you read a romance novel. "

* flashback *

Elden and Fox were sitting in a room. Elden was going through the paper work that cane with being a captain and running a business while Fox was reading a book. A romance novel.

" Hey Elden. Can you explain this scene please? " Fox asked with her normal face. She didn't feel anything though there were a few instances that it broke for a second.

" Sure. " Elden said in a happy tone as immediatly teleported away from hell, happy that he could escape for a few seconds.

Elden went next to her and leaned over her shoulder to look at the book.

" So what wrong? "

" Why are the characters making this scene a bigger deal than what it really is? " Fox asked.

" Hmm the reason for that. They don't have their emotions in check due to their own scenarios that strain their " love " which causes them to make these situations. "

" I see. Is love a bad thing? " Fox asked.

Elden knew why she asked that since she probably never felt love before of any kind so she dontvknow what it was.

" No. Love is both a great thing and at some points in life, love is a cold hearted bitch. Shit happens with love. It can be good and bad. It can make people go completely crazy at some point. "

" I see. Is it worth it? "

" Well with my experience so far, Yes. Don't worry through. You'll know when you feel it. You can also ask Rose for help. By the way there are 2 main loves here. Family and the ' let's get married ' love. I'm talking about the family love for now."

" Okay. "

* flashback end *

" And now we have this version of you. You came a long way. " Elden said.

" Yeah. But still that novel was really heavy on the situations. Right when one is resolved, the next directly happened. " Fox said as she giggled.

" Love is both beautiful and a pain in the ass."

" True. " Fox said as she shook her head.

" Well with this over, what do you want to eat?" Elden asked.

" I'll leave that up to you. " Fox said with a smile.

" Okay. " Elden said. He grabbed Fox by her waist and pulled her close before teleporting to his office.

He looked at fox who was blushing madly. Her face was red as she avoided eye contact.

Elden let go as he patted her head.

" You are so cute. " Elden said as Fox had enough as she tried to hurt him. Elden dodged and ran out the room.

Fox was still blushing as she sat down and held her face into her hands.
