But Ashley didn't pay any attention to any of these because she was busy with her own life and only looked at the picture once. 

That is why she didn't recognise Anna and managed to recognise her only after seeing Ethan. 

Now, she couldn't help but regret not paying attention. 

And, the day Anna gave birth was the day Ashley had an accident. She remembers listening to the news on her car and there was breaking news about Ethan's wife but before she could even listen to what that breaking news was, she met with an accident and died. 

So, she was not aware of this big news that shocked the whole continent.

Or, she might have announced that she is divorcing Ethan.
