He, as her ex boyfriend, is aware of that and the cause as well. 

When her parents died and she felt insecure, this started. 

And, he was her safe haven.

Whenever she couldn't sleep, all he had to do was hold her tight and warm in his arms and it would work a miracle on her. 

So, the reason she is sleeping like a baby is him. He can understand that. 

After knowing all this, how can someone expect him to leave her?

'I will get you to open up to me, Anna. And, once you start to trust and rely on me, we can fight this together.' Aiden thought. 

If Anna had listened to his thoughts she would have been worried and touched at the same time. 

Because, Aiden is only aware of half of the situation. He is not aware that she is from Xander family and going against it is difficult. Moreover, she does have something very precious with them.
