Tom's house was located in a slightly wealthier area of the city compared to Alex's. His family earned the same amount of money overall but they only had one child so the expenses were less, allowing them to live more comfortably.

This caused Alex to often have a fleeting thought that his life would be easier without his siblings, but that thought never stuck around for very long, he loved his siblings too much to trade them for an easier life.

Instead of an apartment building, Tom was living in a standalone house, though its size was only slightly bigger than Alex's home it was enough space for the family of 3 to live comfortably, where everyone had a room and enough space for their things.

It was a source of envy for Alex, he couldn't help but wish for a similar situation but at the end of the day he pushed those feelings aside and accepted reality while enjoying time with his best friend.
