Chapter 62: Glitch

"I'm going to look for the jewels and the stone portal," Mr. Wang said, making him assured. "Let the young lady have fun. I have a feeling… she'll want to return to the original world as well."

Haru was a bit surprised. It wasn't improbable in the first place, but he still couldn't believe it.

"How… How would you know that?"

Mr. Wang just glowered at him and mumbled something before finally leaving. Haru sighed, feeling like he hasn't resolved anything. Not his worries about Camille or his ill relationship with Mr. Wang.

"Am I really not… trustworthy?"

He felt Ali's tiny hands crawling over his. When he looked towards the child, he was given a reassuring smile. "I trust you, Haru," The boy said. "But really, don't worry. I think the world really is safe."

"Okay…"

They started looking around and for some reason, what hooked Haru to finally pause was in front of a roulette wheel. He felt something sinister in it, but was still drawn towards it. He couldn't explain the feeling, but it's something similar to wanting to do bad things.

He felt his skin shuddering, confusing whether it's excitement or fear.

The instructions were clearly glowing in sky blue at the side.

The system automatically maneuvered at his actions. He was presented numbers, wherein he had to pick.

There was a black highlight on the number 24, so he couldn't help but quench his curiosity. He was about to click on it when he felt Ali tugging the layer of shirt, making a fuss.

Ali was grunting and shaking his head aggressively.

"No, no!" The boy screamed. "Don't go near that! Something's wrong with it! The system! Broken! No!"

He kept on yelling. Haru felt annoyed, which was a little strange, because he never found the little boy annoying even once. There's a strong force pulling Haru in to dive into that sinister air.

Haru pushed off Ali's hand and immediately clicked on the number 24.

The little silver ball was produced and was rolled over the spinning roulette.

Ali ran towards it and tried to ruin it, but the ball had already stopped at 24.

As soon as the roulette stopped spinning, a black magic expanded and swallowed Haru in. Ali tried pulling him out of the black magic, but it was all futile.

The boy had no power left and he could only watch Haru getting pulled in and swallowed by that black magic.

He fell on the floor and when everything went back to normal, Haru was nowhere to be found any longer.

And for a few days, he was never seen.

A glitch has occurred.

Ali cried and sobbed tremendously that his wails had reached through the labyrinth and to the ears of Camille and the old man.

Camille was having fun playing Baccarat with the system somewhere when she heard Ali's cry. Her curiosity and worry eventually overpowered her being so immersed at the game that she ran, following the color pattern of the carpet she walked on.

When she reached near the surface, she saw Ali. And along with him was Mr. Wang approaching as well.

"W-What happened, Ali?!"
