Chapter 44: Flowers and Plants and Cottage

As a child, Mr. Wang has already been an uptight person. He's studious and disciplined.

Living by the rules and by the book, his only drive in life was to succeed and take care of his siblings.

He grew up in a fairly strict, but loving family in a good Chinese household. Mr. Wang is the eldest among them, so the responsibility he grew up with was unknowingly heavy. But he didn't mind any of those. He just faithfully followed whatever road was opened up to him and never went astray of being well-behaved and being pious.

Until he was studying in school, his schedule has always been packed with lessons and reading and studying.

Not everyone among his peers are as studious and hard working as him and not all of the eldest like him burden responsibilities that seriously.

For Mr. Wang, all his efforts and actions were bred out of a genuine love and virtue. As such, he felt guilty for any kind of enjoyment when he got more and more used to work and studies that even concerned his own parents.

The only times he'd enjoy himself willingly is when he'd take care and play with his siblings.

Any other than that feels like a luxury to him.

Stopping or resting wasn't a choice for him, whether he's fine or he's exhausted or sick.

Somehow, he never questioned this drive.

He never asked for anything more than what he needs and what he has, so no one would be too concerned for him.

To everyone else, he seems to be walking towards a lonely and destructive path. But to him, it was nothing more than life.

It was his own life that he followed someone else's desire and supplied someone else's needs. For his siblings and family and for himself.

Until that day came when these are all realized…
