chapter 4 the awakening of magic guys

As they arrived at the kindergarten, Junpei's mom, Hideko, looked down at him with a smile.

"So this is the kindergarten, Junpei. Why aren't you walking? Are you nervous for your first day?"

"No, Mom," Junpei replied, shaking his head. "Akari, Izuku, and Katsuki are coming to the same kindergarten as me. I'm just excited."

Walking towards the cheerful-looking kindergarten, I started scanning for my friends the moment I stepped through the door.

"Over here!" Bakugo yelled.

Hearing that, I dashed toward them. "So we're really gonna stay in the same kindergarten? That's awesome!"

"Yeah, but Junpei, you were late," Izuku said.

"Oh, really? Sorry, I was just busy with my sister. She was sad because her crush started dating someone else."

"What is dating?" Akari asked.

I hesitated, not sure how to explain. Even though the age regression was working, it didn't change the fact that I knew a lot of things kids shouldn't. "I can't really explain it."

"I can tell you what dating is," Bakugo offered.

"Don't tell her!" I quickly interjected.

"Come on, she should already know. We're not kids anymore."

"I don't know what dating is either," Izuku admitted.

"We're probably the only two kids in this kindergarten who do," Bakugo said with a smirk. "Hey, Junpei, do you wanna make a bet?"

"What bet?"

"How about we go outside and have a race? If you win, I won't tell them. If I win, I get to tell them."

"Wait, we want to race too," Akari said. "If we win, you both have to tell us what dating is."

I sighed. "Alright then, let's go race."

"One, two, three, go!"

The race started, with Izuku obviously trailing behind everyone else. Bakugo, Akari, and I were neck and neck, but thanks to my photographic memory from my past life, I recalled the running techniques of professional runners. I tried to copy them, but it was sloppy and nowhere near the original form. Still, it was enough to make me unbelievably fast compared to the other kids.

Seeing me take off, Bakugo and Akari pushed themselves harder too. In the end, the race finished with me in first place, Akari in second, Bakugo in third, and, unsurprisingly, Izuku in last.

"Dammit, did your Quirk activate or something? How the hell did you run so fast?" Bakugo demanded.

"I still don't have a Quirk. I was just faster than you."

"What about her?" Bakugo asked, pointing to Akari.

"I'm also faster. Pissed about it?" she said with a cocky tone, quite unlike her usual self.

"Alright then, maybe you two are faster than me, but I'm definitely stronger. Let's have another competition!" Bakugo challenged.

It seemed they had forgotten the original purpose of the race. But it was a good thing, as we kept having more competitions, The ranking constantly changing— except for the last position, which Izuku consistently held.

"Dammit, I swear one day I will beat both of you in every competition because I will be the number one hero!" Bakugo declared.

This is great! Bakugo lost multiple times. Unlike the original timeline where he won everything against the other kids, causing his ego to grow, his losses should calm him down at least a little bit

A couple of months passed.

"Wow, Bakugo's Quirk finally appeared! He's the first one in the class to be able to use his Quirk. That's amazing! Let's go see it," someone said.

Everyone in the class surrounded Bakugo, watching him make small explosions from his hands.

"Amazing, Bakugo! You're definitely going to become the number one hero with this Quirk," the teacher said.

This is extremely terrible. Everyone in the class is praising him, making his ego grow again. And the worst thing of all is Izuku. In the anime, they showed him as one of Bakugo's friends who praised him for everything, but in reality, he is Bakugo's biggest hype man. The amount of praise he gives Bakugo is more than the entire class combined. I hope this doesn't erase all the progress I made in the last few months.

A few days after this, I awakened my Quirk.

Because of my Quirk awakening, we visited the doctor.

"I've never seen this result in my career," the doctor said.

"What do you mean, doctor? Is there something wrong with my son?" Hideko asked, concerned.

"No, Ms. Hideko. It's something else entirely. Do you know how we usually check if someone has a Quirk or not?"

"Yes, if someone has a Quirk, they only have a single joint on their smallest toe," she replied.

"Yes, but this method isn't always reliable because some people have mutations even if they don't have a mutation-type Quirk. So, we also check the DNA of an individual. And this is the amazing part: your son's DNA shows that he's developing two Quirks."

"Are you serious?" she gasped.

"Yes, he's the first person in history to develop two Quirks."

I was mostly tuning out the conversation because I already knew all of this. The only thing I was worried about was if we were going to meet that doctor. But thankfully, my mom took me to a private doctor who works for them, so none of this information will get leaked.

"Junpei," my mom's voice snapped me out of my thoughts. "Can you show us your Quirk?"

"Okay, Mom."

My eyes turned completely black, and my purple pupils started glowing. They were amazed at how my Quirk looked, but then they noticed that they started floating, along with a couple of objects in the room. The objects and themselves were covered in a purple glow.

"This is telekinesis. It's similar to my Quirk, so he inherited a part of it," my mom said, a bit relieved. "I thought none of my children would inherit my Quirk."

"Ms. Hideko, can you tell your son to let us down? We don't feel comfortable flying in the air by a kid," the doctor requested.

"Oh, sorry! Junpei, please let us down."

"Alright, Mom."

"Now that we know your son has a Quirk similar to yours, it means his second Quirk will likely be a transformation or mutant-type influenced by his father's Quirk."

"Wow, this doctor is good. He guessed my second Quirk perfectly, but from the wrong reason."

"Well, Junpei, we're going home to tell the family about the news," my mom said, smiling.

Thirty minutes later, we walked into the house.

"So, how was it? What did the doctor say?" my dad asked.

"There is good news and some weird news," my mom replied.

"Well, tell us the good news first," he said.

"Alright. Junpei has developed his Quirk, and it's similar to mine: telekinesis," my mom announced.

"That's amazing!" my siblings exclaimed, hugging me and showering me with compliments.

"What's the weird news you mentioned?" my dad asked, his curiosity piqued.

"The doctor said that his Quirk might have negative side effects if he uses it to the extreme," my mom said, her voice tinged with concern.

My dad's smile vanished. "But don't worry, the doctor offered some medicine to help with that."

"But this isn't the weird news I was talking about," she added.

"Really? What is it, then?" my dad pressed.

"Yes, everyone listen up. The doctor said that Junpei is developing two Quirks."

"WHAT?!" the whole family yelled in unison.

"What do you mean?" my dad asked, stunned.

"Like I said, he's developing two Quirks," my mom reiterated.

"This is amazing!" Keiji said.

"Wow, two Quirks? You might become stronger than All Might!" Fumiko added.

They both hugged me again, praising me. Only my parents seemed to understand the weight of the news.

"This might be problematic," my father said thoughtfully.

"Maybe, but if we're lucky, his second Quirk will be easy to combine and claim as one," my mom replied.

"So, what are we going to name your Quirk?" Keiji asked. "After all, you don't want a boring name like 'telekinesis.'"

"Stop saying stupid stuff. What kind of name can you even give to telekinesis?" my sister chimed in.

"Magic Eyes," I interrupted.

"Huh, why Magic Eyes?" Keiji asked, confused.

"Oh yeah, I haven't told you about that part," my mom said. "Show them your Quirk, Junpei."

I activated my ability, and my eyes started glowing. My family was surprised.

"This is beautiful, but it doesn't mean I approve of the name. It's kind of weird," Keiji said.

"No, I want it to be Magic Eyes," I insisted.

Hearing my determination, they gave in, and my Quirk was officially named "Magic Eyes."

I’m trying to adjust my schedule so I can give you two chapters a day
