Tara woke up with all the commotion, and squinted her eyes open to see four of her best friends cum acquaintances are standing in front of her.
She rubbed the sleep off of her eyes and looked at the clock, it was 8am, which means she slept for some fourty minutes.
"What happened? Why are you all giving me those nasty looks?" She asked in her sleepy voice raising her brows, earlier she woke up with their loud voices.
"Really? So you're saying that you don't know!! Okay, did you donated blood?" Kush asked skeptically pointing out the mark.
Listening the question her eyes straight fall on her arm where a tiny mark is visible as the proof of her blood donation. As she's wearing a sleeveless top, it's visible.
She just pursed her lips and took a sigh, "Yeah, it was an emergency and we were out of stock & donar. So, I had to donate it." She told them about the situation.
Clap!! Calp!!
"Wonderful!!"
"Superb!!"
"Great Job!!"
Tara rolled her eyes on their taunts, "Guys, you should remember that I'm a doctor."
"Ohh really? Then you should remember that you're not just a doctor, but a patient also!!" Charlie retorted her in a sarcastic manner.
Tara sighed, "I remember it very well, but it's high time for you to understand that being a doctor, I've some responsibilities, I just cannot let someone die when I know I've the ability to save that person!
Common, its not like we just met, being childhood friends you guys know me more than any other person in this world."
"Listen girl, enough is enough!! We are tired sick with all this philosophy of yours. Let's come to the point, what are you doing here?" Raghav asked straight without any humor.
Tara just looked at him, she could see that he's really mad, which was quite normal also!
"I don't understand, what you mean by what I'm doing here?" She asked him back in a confused manner.
The guy breathe deeply to calm himself down, "As far as we know you'd already resigned, and visited Country I just a few days ago to finalize the legal formalities to join 'Chanakya Group.' Then what are you doing here?"
A little laugh could be heard, "You know, sometimes I really feel confused about if you're really intelligent or just acts like that.
Anyways, what you said is indeed true, I did resigned here and also I did joined there, but that's only in papers. There's a gap of ten days before joining as a doctor there physically.
Let me remind you, being a renowned doctor, I've patients from so many countries, among them there are so many patients who are admitted here, do you think I can just leave them hanging?"
"I've nine urgent and complex surgeries which I need to finish in the remaining eight days when I'm here, I previously wanted to refer another doctor to them, but they didn't agreed. So, I don't have any choice basically!"
"What about your other patients?" Rick asked with his brows furrowed.
"They are ready to travel to another country for me." Tara replied in a matter of fact tone.
"So, you're gonna overexert your body and mind for the ten upcoming days....!!" Raghav said with an exasperated sigh.
The girl just nod, "It seems like that."
"Fine, go and freshen up. We brought breakfast for you, we're also hungry, so let's eat first." Charlie said showing her the packets, Tara just nod and stood up before walking towards the washroom.

"What's going on in here? Why's there so many men in black?" Kush asked curiously as they sat for breakfast together.
Tara chewed her sandwich and sipped on her coffee before replying to him, "A distinguished person was admitted last night, they are for the man. The blood that I donated earlier was also for him."
"Who's the man? Someone famous?" Charlie asked feeling excited and interested.
"I don't know who he is, but he indeed is someone very important, special, and of distinguished status. All his details are concealed by the director, and the matter is highly confidential!" She replied in a serious manner.
"Did you noticed the gaurds? Extremely specialized & professional, as if they are specifically trained to be ferocious. The looks!! Each of them are killing machines, I've seen so many famous personalities, but never seen such security!" Tara talked about the man and his men in a surprised and amazed manner.
'Who's he?!' Tara wondered in her mind.
"Forget all this, I was informed & instructed to inform you also by big brother. Last night, Dr. Harrison has returned from his trip, and gave appointment, so, we are visiting 'G city' tomorrow." Raghav announced the news.
"What? But—can't we delay it for some days?" Tara asked with a troubled expression.
But the man just shook his head, and instructed, "Keep your schedule clear for tomorrow, I'll pick you up from your apartment at 6am sharp."
"Fine!" The girl nodded her head in understanding.
They continued to eat in silence when Rick suddenly asked something unusual surprising everyone, "Rose, for the last two weeks there's a question running in my mind—"
"Don't stand in ceremony, blurt it out."
"You know I was wondering about your sudden decision of joining 'Chanakya group." Tara stopped eating for a moment, a cold glint flashed in her eyes but that was just for a fleeting moment, it vanished before anyone can notice.
"So?" She shrugged her shoulders.
Rick continued after the momentary pause, "What I want to ask is why? What's the actual reason behind accepting the proposal.
I know that Chanakya Group are the no. 1 in the entire Asia, but they're not the only one big name who wants you.
And this is also not the first time when you're offered from a famous hospital, then why?
I don't know about the others, but I can see that something has changed in you very recently, I cannot pinpoint it exactly, but I can feel it surely."
Thump!! Thump!! Thump!!
The trio showed their silent support towards Rick by slapping the table.
"Nothing much, you're thinking too much. I found it temp—" Rick stopped Tara before she can finish answering.
"As you said earlier, we are childhood friends and knows each other from in and out. So, don't try to fool us." Tara smiled listening his words, that's right, these four people knows her very well, just like her.
"Well, before answering your question, I've a question for you all." She said instead of replying the question.
"Ask it."
"Do you know, how it feels to be burnt alive?"
Cough!! Cough!!
Three of the boys stared at her in shock while Charlie spilled the water on the floor and coughed out violently!
They didn't expected this type of a brazen question at all.
"What the—"

The door opened and a girl peeked, Tara looked at the door before signalling her to enter inside.
"Dr. Singhania, sorry to disturb you but there's an emergency, the no. 69 cabin's patient—"
Tara creased her forehead, "Wait!! Its the cabin for that VIP patient, right?" She asked with a stressed look.
The girl nod immediately, "Okay, you go, I'm coming!" Tara said before standing up, the girl nod and left.
She put the coffee mug and wore her white gown, then picked up her stethoscope and walked towards the door hurriedly.
"Wait till 30th April, I'll show you the live telecast of it, it'll make easier for you to answer my question. After you answer this question, I'll also answer your question. Bye, see yaa tomorrow." She left leaving everyone puzzled.
