28 Chapter 28: Magic Zenkichi!

Next morning

"Ugh...What am I gonna do?" Zenkichi muttered as he closed the gates to his house and walked on the road heading towards the school. "I don't know how I'm going to do this date with Nabeshima-senpai, without looking like a fool."

He tilted his head, in deep thought. And said, "Should I ask for advice? But who? Mom's out, there's no way in hell I'm asking her for advice when she's still single after more than a decade of separation with the old man."

Hitomi stopped on her way towards her workplace with a eerie, blank expression as a inky darkness creeped up from behind her head.

"...Why do I have the sudden urge to murder my child?" She said, with terrifying words and calm voice that didn't fit her innocent loli face.

Zenkichi paled, feeling a sudden intense chill in his spine. He looked around to find anything that looked anything remotely responsible for this sudden bad feeling he was getting.

"...What the hell was that?" Completely bewildered, Zenkichi shook his head.

"Shiranui and Medaka are out with the exact same reason."

'And that I don't want either of them ruining this because of their respective reasonings; Shiranui would do out of shits and giggles while Medaka would do it because of...actually, I don't actually know. But I just have a gut feeling it'd be a very, very idea to talk to her about this.'

"I really need to get a guy friend." His lips twitched and hung his head down in self-pity.

A lot of guys would be envious having girl friends, you know what I mean, but they haven't truly understood the loneliness of a man with no brothers to talk to and hang around with.

'Should I just go ahead and purchase a computer to play some Call of Duty, League of Legends, Among Us and other games that can help socialize me with others beyond my schoolmates? With my title as the Dragon Warrior and the Demonic Hound, it's pretty much impossible for me to find a true guy friend to hang out with.'

"Damn..." Zenkichi said as he raised his head up. With raised eyebrows he stopped in his tracks to school, in a small road in between houses, pleasantly surprised at the sudden system screen appearance and put the thoughts of earlier to the side.

"The first one is a good enough surprise, as it means I have access to gift exchange so I can ask any of them for expensive stuff as they're from the past, future and simply another world entirely. But the last one..." Zenkichi's lips curled up into a smirk and clenched his empty hand, barely containing the intense excitement he was feeling. "It's a total game changer."

Takachiho? Naze? Whatever the hell kind of group they got backing them up couldn't possibly handle something that this world hadn't shown to have...magic! Or Ether! Whatever that stuff in Time Cat B-cuber or Rebecca uses that makes them mechanical wizards.

Without any hesitation, Zenkichi promptly pulled out his phone and started texting.

[Lucky Devil: Hey guys! I have something to ask of you all.]

[Sun Hashira ☀️]: Oh! What questions will you ask, mister Lucky Devil?

[Time Cat B-cuber 🐱]: Fire away, Admin!

Yup. The year is 2017 and for some reason, although the technology and other stuff remains the same that aligns with the timeline from his previous world, the manga updates were a couple years further.

Zenkichi chuckled at the amusing transaction they were having. A few magic books for some mangas? This guy or girl certainly got their priorities straight.

Zenkichi widened his eyes and it took every fiber of his self-control to stop screaming out of the top of his lung in exhilaration.

I've got a goal with my patreon, although I haven't put it in there or was it taken off. But anyways, it's reached, I'll increase my updates by 2 chapters a day according to my schedule. That means 4 chapters a week, 2 chapters each on Tuesday and Thursday. Tedious but I'm willing to work for it! Cause I'm getting myself a laptop or pc! For college! And other very important stuff as well that involves gaming!!
