116 Chapter 115: Battle Against the Lion King

Blood curdling screams resounded in the entrance of the Holy City, a mob of people hurriedly ran out.

Guiding the last few people in the area out, Gudako let out a sigh of relief before turning back to the battlefield between servants.

Her eyes was focused especially at the top, where a king and a false servant was fighting.

Bright golden and blue light illuminated the night sky as the clash between the Lion King and Zenkichi rages on. Magical Energy that surpasses space and time, versus the power of the sun.

Even though she could barely see their fight, Gudako could still communicate with Zenkichi with their mental link and the situation wasn't good.

Zenkichi has almost exhausted all his energy reserves fighting her, even with the help of Gudako. The Lion King is constantly attacking him with anti-fortress level magical energy infused attacks, basically spamming ultimate attacks at him nonstop.

"Zenkichi, Brunhilde." She clenched her hands, worry flashing in her eyes. "Please, be alright."

"Master!" Mash's astonished cry was heard.

"Die!"

Gudako widened her eyes, as an armored knight with horns on their helmet and surrounded with red lightning appeared by her side, their sword raised and was about to slice her in half.

Bang!

"HYAAA!"

Mash appeared before the armored knight, her large shield blocking the deadly blow just in time.

Gudako stumbled backward, her heart pounding with fear and adrenaline.

"Mash!" Gudako exclaimed, her voice trembling with relief and gratitude.

The armored knight sneered, Mordred's eyes filled with malice as she glared at Mash. "You think you can protect her? Especially with that... shield in your trembling hands? Why do you tremble? Heh. Pathetic as always!"

Mash gritted her teeth, her determination unwavering. "I won't let you hurt master! Mordred!"

"Just die alongside your master!"

While the fighting on the ground area was fierce, it was much more intense and deadly at the top of the high wall, where Zenkichi clashed with the Lion King.

"Holy Judgement."

Space and time distorted, as a bright golden light seemingly engulfed the sky and brought light to the land as if the sun had risen. However, this golden light that was forming around the Lion King into a beam was powerful enough to destroy the land twice over.

And nothing would remain.

"Encounter."

However, just as the Lion King launched the attack at Zenkichi, an invisible barrier stopped it in midair.

"Here! I don't want it!" Zenkichi yelled, blood vessels straining across his body, he then returned back the attack at the Lion King, causing a powerful explosion that sent shockwaves rippling through the air, breaking down all the ruined structures outside of the Holy City.

Zenkichi panted heavily, his eyes bloodshot and blood dripping from his nose. The armor, Brunhilde, that had covered him was showing cracks all over. A pair of blue bat-like wings dimmed, the halo above his head was slowly fading away.

He went all out, using even Vollständig.

Turns out, the minus skill Encounter? It could block and redirect any attack, be it physical, emotional, mental and even energy-based, elsewhere. Even for an ability that defies all sense and logic, seems to have a limit.

Can a Minus do anything against infinity?

'Mana, spiritual energy, divinity and demonic power, I'm running all out. I'm barely hanging out with Gudako's support and two of my skills, Devil Style and The End.' Zenkichi dryly smiled as he felt his wrench again.

He had underestimated the Lion King. How could he forget? The Gods from Brunhilde's world was... lacking to say the least, compared to the Gods in the nasuverse and other realities.

The Lion King, no, the Goddess Rhongomyniad was the definition of what a god truly is.

All powerful, transcending mortal limitations, and wielding authority beyond other deities.

The Goddess of the Holy Lance, Artoria Pendragon.

Moreover, being in her territory, the "Holy City", only bolstered her power and influence, making her a nearly unbeatable foe within this domain.

'You really shouldn't have pissed her off, Zenkichi.' Brunhilde said, groaning in pain.

'Well I'm trying to kill her after all, pissing her off even more seems like a given.'

'... It looked to me that she got angry because of what you did to that boy.'

'No surprise. Although it shouldn't possible, but then again, that guy's luck with women is always good for some reason.'

'Huh? You know him?'

'It's a long story.'

Bzzzt

"Shit!" Zenkichi cursed as numerous beams of light began to rain down upon him from the Lion King's onslaught. Each beam carried the weight of her divine authority, threatening to crush Zenkichi under their overwhelming power.

The Lion King walked in the air, small golden circles appearing below her feet as she continued to unleash her devastating attacks upon Zenkichi. Her expression was cold and determined, embodying the unyielding resolve of a woman avenging her man.

A golden spear, a construct made out of her magical energy, appeared in her hand and she spoke.

"False god from a different realm of creation, your insolence ends here." Her voice carried an otherworldly authority, resonating with power that shook the very fabric of space and time.

She swiftly spun the golden spear in her hand before throwing it at Zenkichi with pinpoint accuracy. The spear whizzed through the air, leaving a trail of crackling energy in its wake.

Zenkichi's senses sharpened as he focused on the incoming projectile. Despite his fatigue, he knew he had to react swiftly. With a burst of speed fueled by desperation, he dodged the spear, feeling the rush of displaced air as it narrowly missed him and hitting the large city wall.

Swish

Which strangely didn't get destroyed but that's only because the walls was made from a divine construct; making it almost indestructible.

"This boss is just fricking insane." Zenkichi's face twitched as he hurriedly created numerous weapons and shooting them at the beams of light raining down upon him, blocking and deflecting as many as he could.

Each beam he managed to redirect back at the Lion King exploded into a shower of sparks and smoke upon impact with her, only for to come out unscathed and continued on creating beams of light that could level a city in an instant.

"Don't you care about your holy city and citizens?!" Zenkichi yelled, projecting Gae Bolg in his hand and using Hirenkyaku, appeared before her.

That's right, in that small moment of seeing Shirou Emiya's magecraft, he managed to copy his skill.

Despite the numerous requirements in order to accomplish what Shirou Emiya did with his magecraft, The End bypassed all of that and copied it; its an absolutely broken ability.

If only what the Lion King was throwing at him a skill or technique then he could probably level the playing field but nooo, the Goddess was simply using her seemingly endless magical energy and controlled it.

The End and Divine Reflection could only copy skills/abilities/techniques, but not infinite magical energy.

"Gae Bolg!" Zenkichi exclaimed, activating the Noble Phantasm. The blood-red, barbed spear gleamed with crimson light as it thrusted towards the Lion King's heart.

Swish

An armored hand reached out, intercepting the spear before it could reach its target. The Lion King's gauntlet glowed with a divine aura as she effortlessly halted Zenkichi's attack.

"You dare challenge me with such feeble attempts?"

She clenches her hand, crushing the tip of Gae Bolg with ease, dispelling its magic and rendering it useless. Without any hesitation, she stretches out her hand and grabbed Zenkichi's neck.

"Ah! Y-You..." Zenkichi stared at her, surprised at her monstrous strength that it bypassed the skill, The Iron.

Blue flames and electricity emerged from his body, trying to fight against the crushing grip of the Lion King. But it was to no effect.

Lion King coldly stared into Zenkichi's eyes, her grip tightening around his throat with an iron grip. With just a burst of her magical energy, she dissipated his powers in an instant.

Despite his struggles, he found himself unable to break free from her grasp.

"My city, and humanity, will not be harmed when they are within my realm." She lightly said.

"But you, false god, have threatened that peace. For that, you shall face divine retribution."

Zenkichi gasped, struggling to speak as the Lion King's eyes shone. Overwhelming magical energy enveloped his body, crushing his body.

Although he could take the hit and become immune to her attacks, but that's only if it doesn't completely annihilate his whole body! After having to resurrect a few times now, he could tell that Cattish Tale would only work if a part of his body remained intact.

"Die."

Lion King murmured as she gathered her magical energy.

"Get your hand off of him!"

Brunhilde changed back into her human form and a lance appeared in her right hand, thrusting it at the Lion King's head.

"Annoying." The Lion King furrowed her brows and used her other hand to effortlessly swat Brunhilde aside, sending her crashing into the ground below with a resounding thud.

"Ah... augh...." Zenkichi gasped for breath, feeling the crushing weight of the Lion King's power bearing down on him. His vision blurred, and his body screamed in agony as he struggled against her unyielding grip.

"... You were born to bring happiness to the people around you."

"... Huh? You bastard, who are you and why are you messing with Kurokami?!"

"... I'm the man who mastered the skill of the silent eraser in middle school!"

Images, memories, of Zenkichi's life flashed before his eyes.

He was dumbfounded, was he seriously seeing his life flash before his eyes in this critical moment? Zenkichi shook his head, trying to push aside the distraction and focus on escaping the Lion King's hand.

Drip

'Rain?' Zenkichi blinked.

He glanced up to see dark clouds gathering overhead, heavy with rain. Thunder rumbled in the distance, echoing the turmoil within Zenkichi's heart.

Strange. Was it because of their battle or the Lion King's doing that a storm was drawn?

Drip

Realization dawned on his face.

"Liquid Morph!" He exclaimed.

"What-?!"

And to the shock of the Lion King, Zenkichi's body began to melt apart; turning into water and successfully escaping her grasp.

"Bleh!" Zenkichi formed his face and taunted the Lion King, before falling into the ground to regroup with his friends.

Shiiii

"Futile." Yellow lightning crackled into existence in her palms. "You're merely delaying the inevitable."

Just as she was about to discharge her attack, an unknown voice sounded from behind her.

"Switch On - Airgetlám!"

A golden ray of light came into existence through the heavy rain, and unlike the light that the Lion King creates, this one carried something that she lacks...

Hope.
