AN OLD FRIEND

Apart from Liana, Catherine is also very nice, she's an orphan but get a chance to be a detective by herself. I really admire her with her intelligence and skill. The last case we lose Liana, but also we know another nice detective who came to help Liana when we found her, but it was too late.

I was sitting in the changing room on the second floor of the PS, waiting for Catherine to change to her uniform. Shortly after I finished, the captain announced us that today, we'll be going to an orphanage to make sure there's no crime when the royals get there to see children.

"I'm finished, sorry for make you wait"

I turned around to see Catherine already in her uniform, she smiled as her gaze met mine. I smiled back to assure her it's fine for me to wait. We walk out of the changing room and formed up to our team, wait for the captain to charge.

"Ok, all right? I think we all already know our job today right? So, I'm not going to explain again. Bet you did your best, see you all at the orphanage then!"

After captain's word, we split into small groups and start our job. Catherine and me were in the same group with Brian, he's also a new detective. We climb into a police van waiting for us to approach. Minutes later we were safely drive on the four lanes highway under bright, blue sky.

I heard Catherine and Brian talk to each other about Liana's case. They are detective from an investigation team, so it's their job to find Liana's cause of death.

It's impossible for her to die when there's no one at the crime spot, I thought to myself while read the orphanage's program of greeting royals today.

ROYALS VISITING AN ORPHANAGE TODAY

And there on the paper I'm reading, has all source of plans we are needing to prepare for the greetings. My job is to easily standing while the sister of the orphanage greets a warm welcome to the royals. Catherine, on the other hand, has to be prepared for the bad things if it were happening.

The royals has so many enemies because of their influences and wealthiness so there is simply normal for someone to done bad things at the orphanage when all the security are ceased.

I felt lucky for myself that for the very first day as a detective, I already has two friends, one is Liana but another is Catherine… I also feel very sorry for Liana's family, And for her lost, we detective is still in sadness.

"Raven, do you have any ideas on how about Liana's tools?"

The sudden change of topic that shot to me from Catherine made my brain unable to provide the answer for a split second, when I finally recover I reply,

"Uh… for Liana's tools I think we have to detect the fingerprints for the first class"

"Uhm that's sound good, but her tools is not in a very good condition for detection because of the time bomb. So the investigation team decided to detect fingerprints at the spot instead"

Her response was full of worry that I can tell she's also worry for Liana's sudden death. I nodded my head in agreement, from the beginning she's the investigator so she has more experience in investigating than me so it's better I let her clear the crime.

"Girls, soon we'll reach the orphanage so please get ready!"

Brian's announced as a driver made us nodded in reply and we start to pack all things that necessary for the first aid security of the royals. Catherine text the captain and inform us that the captains will reached the orphanage after us, so we'll be the first team to reach there. That means we have to start preparing the greetings in advance.

This orphanage is ruled my the royals but also under the good care of the sisters from the palace, they got the job to take care of the orphans.

"Speaks of an orphanage, made me think of myself in my childhood "

Catherine suddenly speak in soft tone while she recover her childhood memories, I knew she's an orphan but she never talk about her childhood with any detective friend.

"I miss sisters that they take care of me, even if I can't remember the names"

She tell us the story in the orphanage, her routine in there, her friends, the sisters, food in there and even she could remember how her room look like.

"It's almost tens years now that I'm on my own"

She left the orphanage when she's fourteen and she always had to work while study on her own, that's why I admired her by her strong essential.

"Ah.. we talk about my childhood again, we almost reach there, better get ready"

She changed the topic suddenly and made me quietly nodded my head as an agreement, we better get ready, soon we'll reach our destination. I heard that the orphanage is as old as the royals family. It starts by St. Alexander, the start of the king. King of all kings in the royals.

Finally, the van pulled into a stop in front of the four story building proudly stood under the late morning's sun. It's quite big for an orphanage, I thought to myself as I explore the big building that greet our sight when we settle down the van.

"Hello, you all finally arrived. We already prepared a room for a guest, please made yourself comfortable, the royals will reach three hours later so we'll have time to discuss our greetings plan"

The sister in white, clean dress kindly greeted us and we followed her into a small but warm room prepared for us.

"I'll get some warm tea for you all, soon I bet Arthur will reached here"

She say as she made her way to the door, Arthur is our captain's name. So I bet she already know him. Shortly she returned with five cups of tea, we thanks her and take a sip of our cup. The smell of tea reached my nostrils and made me think of a roses garden, the tea has very comfortable scent.

She told us it's from England and it's a rose tea. Then we start to discuss our plan for royals arriving in advance before the door to the room swung open and the captain entered.

"Ah hi Laura, long time no see"

Arthur greeted the sister named Laura with the feeling of an old friend, and she greeted him back with a sweet smile that almost reached her ears.
