WAZZIS

At the pent house, Wazzis welcomed him and clapped him on the back about being more anchorite that the ancient cavemen whose cemeteries and birth places he had combed touring the countries and their cities.

He clapped his friend two and joked loudly about finding mummies in life and the entire group laughed and clapped him taking turns before turning towards their bettering and gaming tables pools as their smoking pipes gave off more Odor to the blinding atmosphere already pungent with smoke. It spiraled around the room turning it glint and grey as they laughed.

There was a small party in the bar and Wazzis dragged him behind the curtains and into the V.I.P areas (section) of the 1st class bar the sofas was Italian. It was by fast the softest and most qualify laden leather he had even seen or sat on as someone now gestured from somewhere for him to set down.

He wove with the tip of his hands and the beautiful girls who had been smoking and frolicking around appeared. They seemed dispersed with the hasty faintly rolling of their eyes and eye contact and plastic seductive gaits as they touched the gold rimmed wine glasses, with the tip of their tongues as the went by.

As they eased into their sofas, he smiled at him and Williams feared that he might still be slightly delirious.

"any luck'' he said watching his diamond tipped mental hand clock (it was too gorgeous to be a watch and too big too).

He was searching the grave sites not the ancient tomb of treasuries in Gaza for heaven's sake he wasn't a tomb raider. He was an archeologist, he now wished his friends understood this and took his waves off his toes but Wazzis and friends let him were business men not bookworms, academics for that matter. It was the only reason they had handed him the grant in the first place. It was in truth no grant but a public gesture made before his executives and the marauding officials and officers who were now waiting patiently for him in the bar. So, he thought carefully and decided against lying to them tonight. They would be lied to in the morning. It was always easier but he would have to do it very cleverly now. For he had indeed found a treasure that he would have no use for in the antiquity market. It was treasure that will be panned and worked on in the laboratory.

A priceless artifact that will be examined in hope or certainty of would be results if it failed at yielding and would most certainly draw them closer to the results they sought if they tried a few more time and so he said.

"No, no, not yet" it was all that he could say but he quickly added "but we are certain that there would be more results" he trailed off. The noise of the music and the stereo blasts was now drowning their conversation

Wazzis looked pleased and calm as he slapped his friend playfully and handled him the keys to a condominium suite and bade him goodnight. He was suddenly grateful. He was tired and this Wazzis could tell and so he left him to retire as he thanked the donors and the elite Egyptians Aristocrats that had now clustered around him to welcome and take turns in congratulating and listening to his expeditions and archeological findings.

He simply slid into the bed room of the plush suite and bade the valet his leave as he tipped him heavily and went straight to bed as suites doors closed

before him. He was now acting like Wazzis, getting used to this life of the rich where they spent heavily and saved too little.
