CHAPTER 2

Back to the present…

As Hannah entered her mother's room, she found her mother staring at nothing in particular. Her mother was lost in her own world.

"Mother, mother!" Hannah called a little loudly

"What happened?" Asked her mother

"What are you thinking about mum?" She asked

"It is nothing dear. Don't worry. Is Gabriel back?" Lilian asked.

"Yes, he is" Hannah replied

"Have you told him?" Lilian asked her daughter

"No, he is taking a bath now. He should be through. I will go and serve him his food be and tell him.

You should rest now mother. Good night" Hannah said.

"I will. Good night dear" replied her mother. Hannah then left the room.

Hannah saw that her husband had finished, she then went to serve him his food.

After Gabriel finished eating, he went to his daughter's room. She was sleeping so soundly.

He went forward and gave her her forehead.

He then strode out of the room. He went to his room and met his wife waiting for him there, seemingly thinking about something.

He called out gently "Hannah"

"Yes" she answered

"What is wrong?" He asked her. She hesitated, then she said "Gab, Jules showed signs"

He sighed inwardly, he knew he was not human, year he could not quite comprehend what he truly was. He did not have anybody he could ask because his parents had died when he was just a year old. He grew up in an orphanage.

The feeling had lingered within him for as long as he could remember, a persistent whisper in the depths of his consciousness.

His physical appearance resembled that of a human, but there was something intangible, something different that set him apart.

He possessed extraordinary abilities that defied the boundaries of human potential.

His senses were heightened, his mind sharp and agile, capable of processing information at an astonishing speed. He could control and manipulate the air. He knew he was not human, but was something more, something extraordinary.

Who would have thought his daughter would also not be human?

"She would only show signs for now, do not worry dear" he said.

"I know Gab, time flies really fast and before we know it, she is already an adult." Hannah replied.

She continued "Why don't we go to the place where you were first raised? We could perhaps find answers?" She asked

"That is not a bad idea. I have also thought about that, but I have not found the time to go" Gab said.

He continued "I will find time to go one of these days, probably before the end of next week."

"Okay. That will be better. I will go with you" answered Hannah.

"What of Jules? You have to stay with her" he said.

"Nothing will happen to her. Mother will look after her. I am going with you, end of discussion." She looked serious as she said.

Gabriel had no choice but to agree with her. He nod his head helplessly.

"Let's go to sleep" she said

The both of them laid down on the bed and drifted off to sleep.
