CHAPTER 16

Two days later, everything had settled down in Oaksville. People were vacating the town as ordered. Just about three to five people were left including Julia.

It would be a full moon soon. Theodore and Samuel were discussing in Aiden's study. "What are we going to do Aiden? Even with the appearance of the the chosen one, things are still not easy." Theodore said.

Samuel then said,"He is right my lord. We only know that she is the chosen one. We don't even know if she remembers, but from what I saw during the ball, she doesn't even know the kind of power she can yield".

Theodore nodded his head.

"So how do we even bring her here, since you said she is in Oaksville?" He asked.

Aiden had been listening to Theodore and Samuel, he had not said anything.

Aiden then said after some time, "I happen to need a governess for Lily. You know what to do Theodore." Theodore nodded, "Yes my lord."

And so the matter was settled.

Far away from the land of Verdía, where Frostholm empire reigned, the land of witches whispered of dark and ominous presences.

Frostholm empire was originally the land of the white witches as there were no black witches at that time. It was where emerald forests danced under the golden sun, and shimmering rivers flowed through the enchanting valleys.

It was a land of wonder, where the air carried the sweet fragrance of blooming flowers and the songs of unseen birds echoed through ancient trees.

Its landscapes were a tapestry of breathtaking beauty, adorned with rolling meadows painted in vibrant hues, majestic mountains that kissed the heavens, and cascading waterfalls that whispered secrets to those who listened.

The queen of the witches at the time ruled over them. She was very kind and thoughtful. She paid her utmost attention to her subjects. She always listened to them if they had any issues and so everyone loved her.

But the queen's elder sister, Leah, was very jealous of her younger sister. Leah had always dreamt of becoming the queen of the witches one day.

But what she didn't get was that, to become the queen of the witches wasn't about dreaming or wishing or being appointed by fellow witches. The queen of the witches had already been determined by fate.

Ever since Leah got to know that her younger sister, Isabelle, was the fated queen, she became bitter. She had once complained to her parents about it, but her parents had no say in it, "It is beyond us Leah, we can't choose the queen ourselves or we would have to face the consequences that comes with it." Her parents had told her at that time.

Leah could not accept this fact, she thought that as the eldest, she should be the queen. But her parents had told her that being the queen wasn't dependent on hierarchy.

Leah didn't listen to what they where saying at all. She was far gone. As she wanted to be the queen at all costs.

She stumbled upon a book that was about the forbidden magic. She read everything about it and started to practice it.

Leah delved into forbidden realms of dark sorcery, harnessing twisted energies that corrupted her very being.

She weaved a web of dark enchantments, seeking to sow chaos and despair within the Frostholm Empire. Her whispers of temptation reached the hearts of the weak-willed, promising untold power in exchange for their loyalty.

Under Leah's influence, the once peaceful land of witches became tainted with darkness. Covens turned against each other, their ancient bonds shattered by mistrust and betrayal. The land was then covered with a malevolent aura.

Frostholm was divided into two areas, one for the black witches, Maplewood and for the white witches, Honeystone.

A strong barrier was casted to prevent the black witches from stepping into their territory.

They discussed on how to stop the black magic from spreading.

A week later, Leah was enjoying being a queen now. She was the queen of the black witches. She began to plot on how to bring more people to her side and be the only ruler of Frostholm empire.

But she was a step slower. The white witches attacked them and finally defeated the black witches.

As Isabelle was about killing Leah, "Can you bear to kill your own blood, Isa?" Leah asked teary-eyed that made her look pitiful.

But Isabelle knew Leah was far from being pitiful. She knew Leah was tricking her into dropping her guard.

Isabelle smiled, then she pierced her sister's heart. Leah couldn't believe what had happened. Her sister was so kind but what she didn't know was that there was a limit to one's kindness.

Leah died with a shocked expression written on her face as if she couldn't believe that her sister had just killed her.

Even after the defeat, the Frostholm wasn't as it used to, though it was back to normal a bit, but the empire still remained divided.
