1 A New Life

~In the year 1966, Wednesday 13th June at 5:00am in the operating theatre, a cry could be heard. A sign of a new life being born into the unknown of chaos.~

~The child coming out if her mother's womb with the placenta around her neck, °Aina° the doctor and nurses couldn't help but whisper and admire her strength in helping her mother pull through the whole ordeal, her mother was weak she wouldn't have been able to go through another round of labour.~

~After cleaning the baby and checking her vitals, making sure she's perfectly healthy they brought her to her mother, for the first time, Her mother finally laid eyes on her cried, tears dropping from her eyes. The tears of joy and thankfulness.~

~Her daughter was the epitome of beauty, with a pink healthy skin color, Hazel orbs, curly black hair, small pink fingers that keeps reaching out to her father who hasn't said a word since he had entered the room staring at his daughter in admiration~

~When he noticed his daughter's hands reaching toward him was when he broke out of his Awe. Touching her fingers, she grabbed one of his finger, holding it in a tight grip. Laughing at his daughter silliness, he faced his wife.~

°You've done well, I'm so happy to call you mine, not everyone is as strong as you've been today.°our other kids will be clocking out of school soon, I'll bring them over so they can meet their new sister. I love you my dear wife and daughter°

°I love you too my husband thank you for being there for me and for taking care of i and my kids, i know it's your responsibility and I'm so thankful you made us your first priority as always°

~Glancing back towards their daughter, she had slept with her fathers finger in her mouth. Laughing at her silliness, he removed his finger from her mouth. Lifting her into his arms, he placed her in her crib~

°You know if you keep watching her you'll take away her beauty° his wife said with humor laced in her voice. Smiling brightly at her husband.

°I know that's why i keep staring at her, after all i gave her beauty, i can take it back if i want° He replied laughing at his own joke.

°You never crease to amuse me. But remember you're not the only giver in this issue°Both laughing at their silly jokes.

°You need to rest now, you've done enough for today, I'll watch over her for both of us. She's save in God's hands. Sleep now my dear wife°

~She finally succumbed to sleep. William happy to see his wife's resting face, decided to leave the room to inform his family of the new addition. ~

~Meanwhile, on a farmland at Yaba, dressed in a green tattered shirt, Black torn trousers and a long rubber boots adorning his legs, a sunshade hat atop his head, harvesting yam. Moving to the next section, he uprooted the weeds surrounding the yams.~

©I can't wait to get home, I'm sure mum would have put to bed. I know mum said it'll be a surprise but i can't wait anymore. I need to get home on time before its too late and i can't leave dad alone to take care of my siblings all by himself, he needs to be with his wife now more than ever.©

~Pilling all of the yams into the basket, he lifted it on his head, leaving the farm for the day.~

~The walk home wasn't an easy journey, After 2hrs he finally got home, arriving home, the place was extremely quiet. His siblings weren't running around neither could he hear anything from the neighbours house. Still not phased, he had work to do.~

~After 1hour 30 minutes of cooking, he freshened up, picking up the packed food he headed to the nearest hospital. After checking in he finally got to his mother's room where he could hear voices from inside. Opening the door and entering he became deaf with the screaming voices of his junior ones.~

°Brother Arnold!!°

~They screamed with so much excitement happy to see their favorite big brother and second father.~

°You shouldn't be screaming, you'll deafen our new born and how do you want her to hear and know your voice if you deafen her ears?°

~Their excitement dying down a notch~

°We're sorry Big Brother Arnold, it won't happen again°

~Finally able to look at his surroundings, his father smiling face towards him and his siblings, His Mother Bright Grin and his neighbours who were trying to hold back their tongue from slipping the gender of the baby. Noticing the crib at the left conner of the room opposite his mother's bed. Walking toward it, he placed the package he brought on the table before moving in slowly towards the curious child.~

~Finally seeing his sister, he couldn't help but feel emotionally, he wasn't sad or upset he was just emotional and he couldn't explain it. But all he could see was his sisters beauty which he admired~
