Chapter 22; I love you the most...

" Me? I'm bound to be the President of the Su Company, you know that I had promised Grandpa, so I have to fulfill my promises... I'm tied down to this career path..."

" Ohhh that too ain't bad, I will then also study Management so that I can support you and accompany you all through the journey.."

" Really? You will do that? I'm the luckiest girl to have such a supportive boyfriend you know, I love you the most..." She gazed at the stars and screamed out jovially.

Mo Han tickled her armpits as they cracked up altogether, their free time was always exhausted in the school gardens in an isolated corner where they felt free and they could be themselves.

"Promise never to part ways and never to abandon each other!" He stared into her eyes warmly.

" I Su Mao, if I ever go against my promises may thunder strike and calamity haunt me down, now you are happy right?" Her cheek dimples sunk in gazing at him tenderly.

They grew up together and studied the same junior, and senior high school, so they nurtured their feelings from early childhood.

After a few years, Su Mao began maintaining her distance from him and this put him in an awkward circumstance in comprehending what was occurring in their relationship.

He was graded higher than her and their classes were further apart, so they couldn't meet up as much as they previously did, it was now time to graduate from Senior High School.

"Su Mao I like you... let's date officially...." Mo Han in his teenage hood confessed to his long-time crush on the school grounds in front of the students. They have been dating long enough to know each other and this was what they wanted.

He was now graduating and moving over to the University at that time after having scored outstanding grades and ranked number one.

"Since when did some peasants' son commence on proposing to me?" She sarcastically remarked as her voice was harsh and ruthless, it didn't leave him with any bit of dignity.

Kneeling on one of his knees, his hand lifted exposing the silver ring that he had just managed to purchase from the pocket money he obtained from working out odd jobs, his hand lightly trembled.

"Hahahaha.. look at that ring! Since when did the Su princess turn out to date these kinds of cheap paupers?" A sarcastic remark echoed as people began encircling him as if he was doing some circus.

"Su Mao, didn't we promise each other not to part? Did I do anything wrong?" His voice trembled a little glancing into those distant eyes that were no longer glancing at him tenderly, they were sharp and void of all emotions.

"Mo Han, you must be dreaming! Do you think you can use me to climb up the upper echelons of the social ladder? Never! Just get lost!" She turned around and walked away, no one could comprehend if those words truly came from her heart or her mouth.

Mo Han stood up and chased after her, he caught up to her and held her left hand before tugging over into his arms tightly hugging her.

"Su Mao, if you are encountering any hardships or challenges can't we discuss them calmly? I might have solutions." He inquired as his voice held a little bit of hope, She couldn't wake up one day and decided she didn't love him anymore.

"Stop dreaming!" She roughly shoved him away as he stumbled backward while Su Mao sprinted back into the class.

Mo Han stood there staring in the direction she had fled until she vanished. He was left there holding his silver ring.

"Su Mao, could all your words and promises be all lies? What happened to us?" He felt miserable as he clasped the silver ring in his palm tightly. He couldn't let people watch him cry so pathetically. He was a man and wouldn't humiliate himself.

"Su Mao, I promise you that one day I will become very influential and more powerful, I will make you regret everything and all your choices." He vowed as he scurried away leaving the students who were laughing at him behind.

What he never realized was that Su Mao was standing in a corner as she clutched her heart tightly, it wasn't an easy decision to make but what else could she do? Yes, she was a coward but then what? She didn't have any other options.

" Su Mao.. no matter how much I want to hate you and humiliate you back... I still can't! I'm unable to teach this heart to do so..." He hoarsely mumbled as he got the silver ring and slowly opened his eyes to look at it. It's been fourteen years but he still had it.
