Epic love. It can happen when you least expect it. It can be dangerous, powerful and scary. But it can also be magical, earth shattering and healing. This is a steamy contemporary mafia romance about a damaged anti hero and a strong heroine who falls for him and all his darkness. Angelo groaned and she pulled him up and lightly ushered him out the door. They walked down the hallway and descended the stairs together.

Angelo took her hand, "I will not be long." He looked at her like she was a flight risk, and it made her giggle.

"I will be here." She reassured him as he glanced upon her sceptically. She giggled, "Who should I tell so Rory can visit me?"

Angelo nodded, "Killian is in the kitchen let him know what time so she can come in."

She reached up just as he lowered, and they shared a brief goodbye kiss.

He stared at her another moment before heading out, followed by his driver. She watched as he got into his car and saw Luca smiling and waving as he got into his own car, which followed behind Angelo's.

She was happy he had back up.

Sighing happily she closed the door and turned towards the large empty living room, she glanced up and not a sinner about she mused to herself.

She took out her phone from her pocket and dialled Rory first, she answered after a few rings.

"This better be important." Her voice was sleepy again.

She giggled, "Want to meet me and have some girl time."

"I could be swayed to leave my bed tell me more." Rory added.

"I am staying with Angelo." She smiled as she admitted this to her best friend.

The other end of the phone was silent then her friend erupted "Ahhhh no way, send me the address." She said enthusiastically.

"I will. Bring the snacks though I doubt he has any." She surmised.

"Don't I always." Rory added.

She hung up rolling her eyes, she always lost herself while painting and she never had snacks in the house they would run out and all she would have left after an exhibition would be some instant noodles.

She sent a quick text with his address. She had always known where he was if she wanted to find him but somehow him finding her again had been right.

She sent a quick text message to Milo with her canvas requests and put away her phone. She knew phoning Milo would take too long and Rory would be on her way on her motorcycle.

She headed for the kitchen and once she opened the door she was meet with a loud commotion.

Giovanni and Esther were at it again, she smiled at their interaction and glanced at the kitchen table where two men sat.

As she approached one stayed seated, she recalled his name was Lorenzo. He was muscular with blonde hair and the bluest eyes that reminded her of the sea. Not a calm sea but one that was dark and stormy.

The one who stood to greet her hit Lorenzo's shoulder and only then did he acknowledge her by standing. Not that she wanted them to stand on ceremony around her, she just thought he looked at her with disgust for some reason.

Putting that thought to the back of her mind she smiled at Killian as she approached him, she waved her arms, "Don't stand up for me. It is Killian, isn't it?"

Killian was taller than Angelo and bulkier. He had his black hair slicked back, it was wavy, and his eyes were green like the forest. His beard covered his face so she couldn't say he was handsome. Only her Angelo could be considered handsome but then she was biased.

He gave a brief nod and so she continued, "My friend is visiting today, and Angelo said just to tell you so you can let her in."

Killian nodded.

He didn't speak so she spoke up again, "My friend is called Aurora, but she prefers Rory."

Killian nodded again this time he spoke gruffly, "No problem."

She stood for a moment not knowing what else to say so she smiled, "Thank you Killian."

She turned and left the kitchen, she wanted to chat with Esther or steal some cookies but her and Giovanni where so busy fighting over which flour was best used for something that they had not even noticed her in the kitchen.

She stepped back into the living room and curled up on the sofa.

She could see why Angelo had his own suite, the living room was too cold, too impersonal and the sofa… it was not comfortable.

She took out her new phone added Milo and Rory as contacts before going online and doing some shopping.

She bit her lip, pausing for a moment before checking out. She opened up her messages and sent Angelo a quick text message.

*hey*

Before she could add more three bubbles appeared he was typing.

*Miss me already? *

She laughed.

*Maybe*

She replied then added.

*Can I order art supplies to yours?*

A reply came quickly.

*Don't ask stupid questions… less you are looking to be spanked*

Her cheeks heated and she closed the message app. She returned to her basket and completed her purchases.

She heard the door open behind her then a voice entered that made her smile.

"I'm off today. Come see me Monday morning and we can work something out. For now, where's my girl?" Rory's melodic voice asked.

She stood and smiled, "Right here." Rory walked forward and hugged her friend.

Rory had long wavy chocolate brown hair, she wore it in a ponytail, and it swung as she walked. Her friend was smaller and had curves men loved to drool over. She had the biggest hazel eyes, like two warm pools.

The guard that had walked with Rory into the house stood watching Rory with pleading eyes.

Raven laughed, "I swear you are the only one that could have all these big men beg."

Rory was wearing her motorcycle outfit, tight black leather trousers and a black leather jacket to match. Her heeled boots gave her some height, but she still looked so small beside the large guard.

With a motorcycle helmet under one arm and her leather backpack over her shoulders she grinned as she heard Raven.

Rory laughed and turned to the big guard, "I will be here a lot it seems so… you let me in and look after my girl here and I will squeeze you in."

He nodded gleefully, "Thank you Rory." She made a shooing motion and he left quickly.

"I wish I had your magic powers." She said as she pulled her friend up the staircase with her.

Rory offered her a smile before stating, "Says the woman who has Angelo Russo wrapped around her little finger. I bet he would bark if you asked him too." She said with a mischievous smile.

Raven's cheeks heated and she pulled her friend into Angelo's suite quickly.
