CHAPTER 85: The Invisible Shield

Aella saw a small ball-like item rolling towards her and the scene came in slow motion.

Her heart rate accelerated but every one of her other limbs was put to a stop, unable to move.

The thing opened its large mouth to reveal the razor teeth which were about to snap her head and that was when one part of her body moved with instinct.

Aella swung her arm in the air and the sharp edge of her blade collided with the head of the creature and tore it into two clean pieces.

Then her head returned to reality as the other beings began to snarl with vengeance for killing one of them.

Aella stepped back and pushed one of the doors so she could lock them out but one of the monsters was faster as it held the doors apart with its arm.

"Arghh," Aella gritted her teeth as she pushed the door with all her might.

One of the monsters stuck its head through the opening and grazed its teeth close to her.
