I am Ruby Miller an undergraduate of Sanclair's university in Paris studying software engineering but I love doing skincare routines which has always been my dream career. As the only daughter and first child of the Miller family, I had to sacrifice my Education for my younger brother, Teddy because I wasn't born with a silver spoon in my mouth. He is and has always been my only responsibility after the death of our parents. Yea my parents are dead and I have been trying to close that gap and make Teddy fulfill his dreams of being a footballer without the help of anybody but myself.

Both my parents are from Philadelphia also known as Philly in the united states, we all lived in a small family house in Philadelphia before I travelled to Paris to further my education. Since then Teddy and I grew much apart and we were not as close as before again and should I say that my going to Paris had made things worse.

On coming back to Philly, I found out from my mom that my dad had been loaned some money by the Maxford's before he died and hadn't finished clearing the whole debt. I learnt more about the Maxford's when they came to warn my mother to clear the debt and since then I have been determined to clear the whole debt before they took our only possession and rendered us homeless. I also could not let my old mom to overwork and stress over a sum of money.

Few months later my mom gave up the ghost due to stress, stroke and over thinking. I cried my whole eyes out and witnessed the lifeless body of my mother being overpowered by the cold hands of death. I tried to put myself together in order to be able to console my brother whom was my only family and relative.

Since then passion, hatred and revenge grew in my heart and my only mission was to clear the debt that my father owed the Maxford's. I worked tirelessly everyday and also made sure I had enough time to spend with Teddy. I even made sure we had our siblings days every Saturday, my life went on easy like that and life kept on being peaceful for me till a particular day.

Teddy you know I have to go now, I don't want to be late for work, I said stroking his well packed hair.

Sis don't go to work yet, I really want to spend some time with you and I am so bored staying home alone, please sis, Teddy pleaded.

Ohhh Ted you know I really have to go now, we need money to get foodstuffs for the house and you also now I have to pay your admission fees into the football college.

Okay sis but promise me you will never leave me come what may, promise me now.

I felt a strange feeling crawl into my mind as I remembered the debt we owed the Maxford's but I had to fake a smile at the front of Teddy because he wasn't aware of what was happening.

Okay, I replied using my baby finger to touch his which we both called a pinky promise.

Okay bye Teddy, I said waving to him.
