2 A New World....
To say that I was disappointment was immesurable and my day was ruined would be an understatement.
when I saw the King would be an understatement. I clearly passed by at least three who were stronger just by mana alone and he didn't really look like a fighter.
He sat on the throne as I noticed the other one empty. where was the queen? If we were world saving important then I am sure the queen should be here too.
"So these are the four Cardinal heroes of this generation." The king looked at us, he looked around forty, had a flowing white Mane, at least his behaviour was somewhat kingly.
"Introduce yourself."
He ordered as my Norlov genes wanted to tell him to fuck off, before I make his wife my bitch.
But I controlled myself, not the time at least you needed to look at the goods before making such a dicision.
But the spear guy came to my rescue, as he stepped forward.
"Motoyasu, 21 year old University student."
"Itsuki Kawamari, 17 year old high school student.".
hmmm I should blend in, I thought as I stepped forward,
"Adric Norlov, 20 year old college student"
"Naofumi Iwatami, 20 year old University student."
"Motoyasu, Itsuki and Adric huh?" The king replied,
I couldn't help but frown he skipped Naofumi completely.
"Yo, king you forgot about me!" Naofumi spoke up, as I could hear the murmurs from the people standing up in the balcony most likely Nobles of the kingdom.
"Hey you can't just, yo king here he is a king you know"
This was Itsuki, who spoke up as I chose to remain silent.
While the King coughed," I see, anyway I am Aultcray Q Melromac XXXII the king of the country of Melromac and I welcome you heroes to this world."
He spoke as the long ass explanation began.

Basically this world was similar to my world where we had gates except here the monsters invaded only during the waves which I thought were similar to dungeon breaks.
The four heroes were tasked with defeating the waves and we would be rewarded according to our contribution.
Sounded simple enough, but then things started to get complicated since I was never plaayed RPG, as the king started explaining the status window and how it worked and how all four of us couldn't work together blah blah blah.
I was still going through my screen when something caught my eye (and yes it's singular)

If my thoughts were right, that lady did all of this dragon related stuff so I really was going against a Dragon god it seems fuck.
Though some parts were sealed like my left eye it could be because I would die if I used them now.
What caught my eye was mastery, at 0%.
Digging more a screen popped up.
|Mastery: After reaching 100% can be used to raise the grade of a sword form.
It can go from common, uncommon, rare, Super rare, legendary, Artifact.
Each upgrade will give user a chance to copy sword exclusive skills onto the abilities section plus unlock new skills.|

I was doing all this while sitting in Motoyasu's room as we were discussing what to do. More like they were discussing what they wanted to do.
I was pretty clear get stronger and see what happens.
"Haa this world is really like a game isn't it?" Naofumi sighed as Motoyasu just laughed.
"Of course it is, it's the same as VRMMO emerald online."
Huh? Never heard of that game before was it famous in the east?
"The hell are you talking about, it's dimension web"
Wait two games with similar world's?
"I didn't play any of those" I spoke as they turned to me.
"Seriously you never played emerald online it's famous all over the world it even has world cups" Motoyasu asked only to get me more confused is he and I really living in the same world?... .. wait a minute..
"Uh...do any of you know anything about Gates or dungeons?" I asked as they looked at me?
"What like those in the light novels?" Naofumi was the first to speak as we all started at each other.
Yep we were from different worlds altogether as another conversation started out.
Turns out thier world's never had gates or anything the closest thing to abnormal was Itsuki who was an ESPer.
I didn't really say that I was a hunter, but lied about being a civilian, Motoyasu and Itsuki knew about this world through similar games and Naofumi was someone who was completely new.
"What am I supposed to do with a shield?"Naofumi asked as Motoyasu picked on him saying.
"Naofumi let me tell you some truth, all the top rankers never use a shield!!" And laughed seeing Naofumi's defeated expression.
It was then my left eye became a little painful as I looked around until I was staring at the door.
It wanted to tell me something.
A spy? I picked up my sword as and enhanced my arm with mana and flung it straight through the door into the spy's shoulder impaling him into the wall.
"What the?" Motoyasu and the others came running to see the man impaled into the wall.
"What the hell are you doing? Adric!!" Motoyasu grabbed me as I looked at the idiot.
"He was spying on us" I replied shaking him off and walking towards the spy who was groaning in pain.
"So then Mr. Spy who sent you?" I asked pulling the sword just enough to get it out of the wall and twisted it.
"Aaargh!!!!!"
"Hey! Stop it" Itsuki said as I looked at him,
"Stop what? for all we know he could have been sent to kill us." I replied as they turned silent.
I was just about to go into the questioning when I was intrupted by another man.
"Please stop sir hero, I apolegise for his conduct. He was doing what he was ordered to do" he was one of the people standing in beside the king earlier.
"And what would that be?" I asked smiling lightly as the man looked at him. we both continued to stare at each other before I pulled out the sword,
"I belive Motoyasu is going to need a new room" I said pointing at the door that was half broken, the man looked at us and nodded.
"That will be arranged, I apolegise again" the man bowed as I could feel the mana of about three others hiding in the surrounding, one just under the balcony.
"Well then Good night" I waved at them and walked towards my room.
They didn't stop me, as I entered my room and immeditely let go, I was barely holding myself the mana useage was too high.
I sat down on the bed breathing deeply, I will need time to recover my mana especially since I didn't have a mana circuit.
Thankfully the mana density in this world was quite high, I breathed in, allowing the mana to slowly sweep into my body slowly recovering my mana.
I should start making my circuits soon especially since my level is too low.
That attendant would have given me trouble, from what I sensed the king seemed around high C or low B - ranks.
And those three high mana signatures were all around high B-ranks.
I sighed I think I showed too much, I opened my stats looking at the species Draconic Human Hybrid.

I read the discription, I don't know what a Filolial is but seemed to be some kind of animal.
Rest were quite easy to understand.
Though I could not read anything about Dragon God Eye.
First I needed a mana circuit then I could build up from there.
Establishing a mana circuit with the level of mana that I had right now is going to be painful and slow.
I kept absorbing the mana until it was full again.
I breathed out, time to start this.
letting the mana flow making a formation that we Norlov's used.
I guided my mana slowly according to what I was taught, and had done over and over to increase the imprint as the circle began to take shape.

Just one, round and I was down, I wasn't this weak even when I had just started out as hunter.
I was just thinking this when the screen popped up in front of me.

It was the next morning we were standing in front of the king, and getting our party memebers, and Naofumi didn't get a single member.

"My name is Myne Sophia, I would like to accompany the Shield hero, if he allows me to." She spoke as my gut feeling was telling me,
