Arranged Dates

Faye is in range; his step-father talks to her on the phone, giving her instructions on whom to date. If Faye entertains the man in front of her, her scholarship in her studies at Zenith University will consider paid.

Faye can't hide her irritation at the man in front of him. The man flaunts how he is studying overseas how he is the future CEO of their family business.

The man named David Grayson faces him. The man looks like the typical rich kid, wearing a suit and ties with his neatly combed hair. No single strand of his hair is sticking out.

David smiles so widely, and his eyes in Faye's imagination is glittering with a dollar sign. She sure that this young man is in love with money, and it shows in the way he talks,

"You know I purchased a house in your Village; I heard Elites of the country live there, so I bought a house immediately. I will come back to England for my studies. I know it is sad that we will have a Long Distance Relationship, but I guess it's for the better. We get used to it. When we get married, I will take a trip inside and out of the country, so it's okay we can get used to it by now."

David speaks proudly, and it pisses Faye.

Faye tried her best to control her temper, this man is so brave assumes she will marry him, but she works her best not to be rude.

"Faye Chennester, as soon as the Chennester and Grayson have merged, you don't know what we can become. We are both mighty and influential family in the business sector, and If that happens. No one will come close in our riches, not even the Hamilton." David continues.

Faye suddenly snaps when she hears Raven family name,

"Mr. David Grayson; Now, if you may excuse what make you think I will marry you," Faye said firmly.

David's eyes widen as he listens to every word she said; he gasps in disbelief and asks.

"What makes you think you cannot," David said to her, not amused.

"What makes you think you can say "No'. It is a long-time family agreement. Talk and agrees by our parent even before we are born, so what makes you think you can reject me." David's voice sounds threatening.

Faye sighs and looks at the man in front of her eye to eye, "what makes you interested in marrying me? If the reason is about the money, then you can't have anything from me. I'm broke, and I'm not what you think, am I. An heiress without riches is what am I. What makes you think you are lucky when you will marry me?" Faye's voice is shaking.

"You are a Chennester, the one and only heir of the Chennester's. What makes you think I would believe your stupid lie so you can push me and get rid of me and be with whoever you like? No, You can't throw me. I' am your future and husband, and you are my future wife. It's decided." David says, pissing her off.

Faye doesn't care all she knows that the man is pissing him off. She doesn't like the man either.

David Grayson is arrogant and greedy. He wanted her as a trophy wife for his family name to expand their power, riches, and connection.

Faye knows better, but for the moment, she has no power to disagree in his step-father commands, for he held his dear mother as a hostage.

Fate reminisces. She doesn't know how it happens like a snap. She wakes up one day her mother is madly in love with that strange man.

Faye has never seen him before. The man is not his father's colleagues nor business associates in the country; she never heard his name once; his step-father is so foreign in her ears.

Mr. Arkin Reikenson is a strange name for Faye; he doesn't know anything about him. The only story she heard is Mr. Arkin is from a foreign country, the one who manages her father's business overseas.

Faye never sees him until her father died and her mother becomes ill; he is the one who takes care of her, watch over her until she recovers.

After one year, her mother gets well, and at the same time, she fell deeply in love with this strange man, Mr. Arkin.

There are moments Faye wanted to reach out to her mother, but she does not let her. She doesn't talk to her and ignores her.

Before she becomes eighteen, she was surprised that her mother agrees to marry Mr. Arkin. All of the "riches" of the Chennester is in control of the strange man.

Faye's inheritance is in the bank; it is a trust fund frozen until she reaches eighteen.

Faye has no power over her heritage. It states in the last will testament of her father that her trust funds and the inheritance will legally release with the consent of her mother's signature.

When she turns eighteen, she expects her mother will let her have her trust fund and let her live her life. She felt her mother doesn't need her anymore, and she doesn't want to force herself into her mother's life.

Faye can see how happy her mother was in his step-father and the newfound love of her mother. She is willing to live independent and far away if she gets her trust fund. Still, to her dismay, the trust fund release from the bank with her mother's signature. She can't leave the Chennester's mansion for her mother as her legal guardian has the right to make her stay in their home and control her finances.

Faye knew her mother doesn't have an interest in the business and riches of Chennester's. Faye felt her mother is under Mr. Arkin's spell.

Faye doesn't think her mother is happy in the arms of the man that controls her in his favor.

His step-father talks to her one day look at her in his intense gaze, she wanted to break the eye contact, but she can't look away;

"Faye Chennester, as a good daughter that you are, I expect you follow your mother's command, stay in the mansion. There are a lot of eyes roaming around the Chennester's family. We can't afford that rumors might break, you don't have to run away. You are studying at the finest University, and when you graduate, you can secure a position in Chennester's Airlines Company. Don't worry about your study for now. I handle it, but after you graduate, you have to pay for it. Nothing is free in this World." Mr.Arkin said mockingly

Faye looks at the man in front of him in disbelief; she can't help but gasp in disappointment.

She doesn't know if it right; this man will cover her studies at Zenith University and pay him after; she will work in their company as an employee.

She never felt so humiliated before. Faye is the heiress of the Chennester's, but this man pays her dust.

Faye is feeling the burn in her stomach; she answers the man since the man doesn't give her any choice either;

"Okay," she explains briefly, and she walks away.

Faye doesn't want to see the man face any longer; the troubles she has now, she is not sharing it with her close friends Leigh and Czerene because she doesn't want to trouble them.

Now, Faye knows another scheme of his step-father is in front of him, the man David Grayson is one of his step-father stepping stone to again use her mother against her.

Faye's mother commands her to meet this man on this date that his step-father plans.

"The Ball Night is coming near. You and I will be a perfect pair for that night. See all those people who will envy us in who we wear." David Grayson continues blabbering.

The University Ball Night is one of the events that Faye doesn't want to give her attention. It is a night where the riches gather and fake each other. They act as they happy seeing each other and enjoy each other company. Fake laughs, chattering, and smiles will paint that whole night.

As much as she doesn't want to be a part of that night but here, Mr. David Grayson insisted that they will come together.

"Your dress is marvelous; it came from my country, made by the famous fashion designer in our country." David continues to chatter.

"I would love to see that dress then," Faye fake commented and smile.

David smile widely, "I see; now you're warming up to me. Women love dresses; it makes them soft." He teases.

Faye can't help but hide her irritation inside. If Faye can only stab this person with the fork she grips, she will.

Faye looks around, the man in front of him; David fixes his tie, he looks at his wristwatch and seems to prepare to leave.

"Let me take you home." David offer

"Okay," she answers distastefully.

David provides his hand to assist her; she breathes in before taking the man's hands.

The man offers the car door for her, and she steps in. Faye found out that David likes to talk, he keeps on talking, but everything he says didn't interest her.

Faye is looking outside the car window when a car that familiar to her passes them by, a Maserati; she looked at her watch. It is past nine in the evening.

"Raven is still out in this time," she said in her self.

She knew she shouldn't care where the man came from and not to mind the reason Raven is out this late of the night while she is out too. The realization that the Ball Night is coming sinks in her system.

Faye's thoughts drift by the possibility of Raven meeting her date for that night too. It saddens her in a way she doesn't understand.

The house she lives in with Leigh and Czerene is inside the University facility. David park in front of the house and opens the car door for her; she immediately gets out.

David call her as she passes by him, "Faye, my Dear, don't you forgetting something?" he asks.

Faye looks at him, puzzled, and the man points his cheeks. She then gets it that the arrogant man is asking for a kiss.

She can't think of ways to keep away from the situation. She looks around and makes excuses.

"You know it's the first date for both of us. I hope you don't expect that much." Faye said honestly.

"But we aren't ordinary dating; we are future husband and wives, so what not start getting close beside it just a kiss on a cheek. Okay, fine. I understand you are shy. If you don't want to do it, let me do it." David says as he slowly makes his way towards Faye.

Faye knows martial arts, but she knew better she can't hurt this man if she doesn't want to put herself in trouble. She breathes deeply and closes her eyes.

There is a loud beeping sound they both heard. The supposed kiss on the cheek is interrupted when both of them look to where the sound coming from;

A Maserati is beeping David's car, for it is in the way. Faye knew very well who owns that Maserati.

"What is your problem?" David asks

"Man, you don't know how to park properly. Your car is in the way is my problem." Raven snorts.

Raven looks past David that is mad for getting interrupted; he signals to Faye to go inside the house.

Faye catches Raven's gaze, gives Faye a signal for her to go inside. She smiles sweetly at him and immediately runs into their house and lock the door.

David looks in Faye's direction as he heard the door is locked. He sighs. The man wanted to vent his frustration to the intruder in front of him, but he back off when he saw the security approaching the man.

"Mr. Hamilton, what is the problem, Sir?" the security asks.

"Hamilton." David mumble

David clears his throat and speaks, "No, sir; there is no problem at all. It's my fault; my car is in the way. I'm sorry for causing trouble Mr. Hamilton." David looks at him with an intense gaze; David goes inside his car and drives away fast.

Raven doesn't like the way that stranger man look at him, and he doesn't like what he saw earlier;

"Hey," Raven heard the sweet voice. He very well knew who it belongs.
