Tony was running through the woods.

' I'm totally doomed' he thought.

Today was like the worst day in school. First, it was in Chemistry class when Mrs. Norman called him out to solve a chemistry equation written on the board, and chemistry was his worst subject. As if that wasn't enough, Troy took his lunch. To top it all, he stood up to Troy. Now, after school, Troy and his gang were chasing him. The worst of the worst was that he was now lost deep in the woods.

He suddenly stopped in his tracks.

' oops!'

He was already at the edge of a cliff. Below him was a bottomless valley, because at the other side was another cliff. The jump was impossible.

'what do I do? what do I do?!'

He was totally freaking out.

"Hey Tony!"

Tony spun on his heels. In front of him was Troy and four other boys. His blood ran cold, and beads of sweat began to form on his forehead.

"I-I'm so s-sorry" he stuttered.

Troy giggled, and the other boys followed suit.

Tony was at the edge of the Cliff. He was definitely at the wrong place and at the wrong time. Any wrong move could cost him his life.

"You slapped me?!" Troy said, with a cold expression.

"I apologised" Tony said, his voice several octaves higher.

Troy's face suddenly became stern.

"Motherfucker sorry to not I'll still kick your ass"

He raised his hand to slap Tony.

"PLEASE!" Tony shrieked.

It was the last word he said before the ground gave way and he slipped. In a desperate struggle for survival, he grabbed at everything, but nothing came to his aid.

He just slowly fell down the dark foggy abyss.

Tony woke up, startled, panting like he just ran a marathon. He was still in his quarters, his room in the Mutant Holding Facility. It took him several moments to realize it was just a dream.

MHF was a government facility that was used for taming, training, and testing mutants, metahumans and basically anything extraordinary. His dream was an incident that occurred a few weeks ago. He blacked out as a result of hitting his head on a rock.

MHF was actually nice. They just gathered mutants and any extraordinary creatures they can find and test them and train them. At least that was what Doctor Iris told him.

He examined his room.

It was nothing special. Just a white room, no window, one bed and a sink. The doors could only be unlocked from the outside. He move closer to the door and touched it.

'Titanium'

He couldn't get out if he wanted to.

He sat down on his bed.

His powers hadn't been discovered yet, but he had a feeling it would be cool.

He suddenly heard the door been unlocked from outside.

"There's our little supe!" Doctor Iris said as she strolled in. She always knew how to make him feel little. She had bright brown eyes and black hair, and also a well chiseled nose. Her smile was angelic. She wore a black mini gown, which was covered by an unbuttoned lab coat, and like all hot female scientists she wore glasses. She was extremely beautiful. Tony didn't know what was wrong with him, but he always liked older women. She had also taken a special liking to him. Perhaps it was because they were both black.

"Good morning!" Tony said, forcing a smile.

She smiled too, but hers was more authentic.

"Today is test day!" she announced.

Tony's shoulders fell.

"I hate tests"

"Not school tests, honey." she said, crouching to his level. She was very tall, especially in those heels.

Tony raised his eyebrow.

"Huh?"

" Today we test your powers!" she straightened up and walked out.

Tony followed suit.

After walking for a while, they both reached "the chamber" as Doctor Iris called it. It was where abilities were tested out. It was just a rather huge glass chamber. Scientists in white lab coats sat outside, in front of computers obviously preparing for ' the test'.

The door suddenly yawned open.

"Go in Tony" Doctor Iris said, smiling.

Tony looked at her. Her bright smile encouraged him.

"Walk to the middle of the room." a voice said. It was another scientist, outside the chamber using a small microphone.

Tony obeyed.

"Now kneel" the same man said.

"What the hell?! No way!" Tony retorted, frowning. He wasn't the toughest guy, but he always had a problem with authority. He looked around, scanning his new confinement.

"Tony kneel down"

He didn't need to look to know that it was Doctor Iris.

"Its for your own good, Tony. Don't you want to know what your ability is?"

Tony slowly turned his head.

Both of their eyes met.

As much as he hated authorities, he knew she had a point. Also, he had no choice. But he wasn't going to submit completely.

He sat down, in a cross legged position, like a meditating monk.

Doctor Iris couldn't help but smile. Her subject was the most stubborn man she had ever met. And she loved that about him.

"Close your eyes" this time, it was Doctor Iris speaking.

Tony obeyed.

"In order to get into the state of ability manifestation, you need to be calm and have a clear mind. Meditation works well."

To Tony, it sounded like she memorized it, and was talking like a robot. It also sounded like a load of horse shit.

" So now, empty your mind"

Tony opened his eyes.

"How exactly?"

"Just inhale, exhale. Focus on your heart beat and nothing else."

He closed his eyes. Then inhaled. Inhaled. He inhaled until he thought his lungs would burst. Then he exhaled, slowly. His tense body was now calm. He felt so new, so refreshed.

'why didn't I know about this before?' he asked himself .

He repeated the process until he could do it without thinking.

Then he focused on his heart beat.

'why is my heart beat so faint?!'

He was panicking. His heart beat increased.

'ahh there it is....'

Meanwhile, outside the sound proof glass chamber, everyone was working. Since it was Doctor Iris's subject, they all had to report to her. It was as if they were working for her. But that wasn't how she saw it. She saw it as a terrible headache, and an epitome of stress. Even now, she was very sure she was working harder than anyone else.

"Brain waves dropping" the scientist monitoring Tony's brain waves said.

"Pulse is normal"

"Brain activity static"

Doctor Iris kept writing down their reports, plus the meanings and details. And they all seemed to be talking at the same time. So it wasn't easy catching all of it.

"Bone structure normal"

"Heart race increasing"

Doctor Iris paused.

Something was missing. The analysis wasn't complete yet.

"Doctor Polly?" Doctor Iris called, finally figuring out whose report was missing.

The said Doctor just sat down in front of her computer, refreshing and rebooting her system with wide eyes.

'I don't have time for this' Doctor Iris thought, frustrated.

"Doctor Polly what is your report?!"

No answer.

"Polly what is your report on my subject's vitals?!"

Because when it came down to it, Doctor Iris and Doctor Polly were best friends.

Doctor Polly slowly looked at Doctor Iris.

"His organs are incomplete"

'what the...?'

Doctor Iris walked over and looked at Doctor Polly's system.

Truly, most of his organs were failing. His heart seemed to be in good shape, but by the looks of things, it wasn't going to be for long. Then Doctor Iris said something she hadn't said in a long time.

"What the fuck?!'
