Planning A Trap

Dean, Orion, and Andre were in the middle of the table in their dorm. Orion and Dean looked rather grim while Andre had little to zero idea on what was going on the minds of his two friends. Orion was more than well-aware that he had been pulled into Dean's affair. After Scarlet, he became afraid that he would end up pretty much the same.

"We need to strike back as soon as possible," Orion said. "I don't want to end up like Scarlet."

"Well, tomorrow will be the chance then, but we need permission from Corporal Lirza and we need that fast. Otherwise, we might as well as losing the last trail of Mick," Dean added.

"I agree, but man, how should we do that in the first place?" Orion asked.

"Well, use Adams."

"Alright, that's quite solid, but how are we suppose to ambush him. Dean, I don't want to underestimate the enemy's strength, knowing that he sent a SWAT team to ambush you," Orion added.

"Let's think logically, shall we?" Dean tried to disperse the fear away.

It was basically a stealth infiltration, no way in hell those people would be dressed heavier than Dean in this regard. Dean always carried assault rifle during an assault at the very least, or his battle rifle. Bottom line, he would not face anything with the capability of injuring him.

At most, he would probably only face Mick with a pistol, but that was it. If there was more, three might be something else. Dean wasn't exactly a fool, he could beat a magic user in a gun fight. This was an opportunity.

"Yeah, I see where you are coming to. You are saying that you are capable of beating anyone, right?" Orion asked.

"More or less, you're right to a certain extend. I might be able to hold an edge over any student as long as I know how to counter them. Look, I don't want to be arrogant, but thing is being what it is."

"Yeah, I know. You're strong with your rifle, yada yada yada, Dean, you're not going to be allowed in one of the most academic boosting activity in this whole academic year because of your rank," Andre added.

"And that is?"

"I don't think an F-rank would be allowed to join the tournament," Orion added.

"Why not?" Dean asked.

"Simply because it is too risky, Dean. You see, it's not like you are allowed to bring guns into tournament for some unexplained reasons. Wait, have you ever heard of this in the first place?" Andre asked, questioning Dean's knowledge.

"Do I look like someone who knows?" Dean asked back.

"Of course not, to be honest. Anyway, the tournament is at the end of the semester and is available for every students. However, F-rank students are an exception for the most part, and some of the students won't participate because of health reasons."

"How this will affect my academics?" Dean asked.

"Well, say, this thing take 20% of your whole grade in the entire semester. So, even though you are smarter than me, it's like losing out 20% of your grade. However, I do think you'll get compensation," Andre added.

"Hopefully. Anyway, back to the main topic, are you two trying to derail me or something? Anyway, Orion, I want you to accompany me in this one, knowing that you are a better magic user than Andre," Dean added.

"That's cold, man," Andre protested.

"You're a good driver, but not a good shooter, Andre. Besides, Orion's magic is very strong, right? What was your magical ability, again?" Dean asked.

"Electricity, remember? I can create a mini thunder rod if the need arose," Orion answered.

"Ah yeah, I see. Alright, so, here's the plan. You saw the two big wardrobes in the middle of the administration room, right?" Dean asked.

"Yeah, you can hide bodies in there, why do you ask?" Orion asked back.

"I think it's a good idea if we hide there, don't you think?" Dean asked.

"Yeah, good enough for me, but Dean, what if we need to face resistance, you know that we won't win any engagement without any arms, right?" Orion asked back.

Dean headed for his wardrobe and grabbed his M4-EC and put it on the table. He also grabbed his ShAK-15 and put it on the table as well. Dean also grabbed two magazines of 6.8 ammunition to the table.

The ammo inside of the magazine was a special M990 MK 1 ammunition designed to be an armor-piercing bullet capable of penetrating heavy body armor while giving fragmentations to the body that it shot.

"M990 MK 1 6.8 ammunition. This should help you, Orion," Dean added as he gave the rifle and the magazine to Orion. "This thing would be able to pierce anything sort of grade IV armor."

"Dude, is this thing even legal?" Orion asked as he saw the black tipped bullet inside of the magazine. It was a tungsten bullet covered in a very thin layer of copper propelled at speed beyond 1,000 m/s. Overall, a solid armor piercer.

"Yup, it's legal. Dude, it's not even an Elspectran-rated bullet, relax."

"Yeah, I know. Still, Dean, thanks," Orion checked on the rifle using his hands. It felt solid in his hands, and as a former military student himself, he knew how to operate the thing.

The last step now was to ask for authorization from Corporal Lirza and all would be set. The plan would be in motion and it would only be a matter of time before Dean caught Mick stealing the classified documents.
