Demonic Overheal

Within the demonic land known as the Baha Continent, where the act of healing and being healed are considered to be a great sin to the point of taboo—Lothair decided to become a menace to society by maliciously casting 'Heal' at everyone. But the warmth didn't come without cost. Each healing restores the respective amount of sanity on the caster and its victim, and for the demons who live off by the insanity they were born with—it's an experience full of abhorrence and torment. As a thrall who walked the path filled with suffering, Lothair's goal soon evolved from self-sustenance into that of higher beings. . . . Art Of Brutality: The Eyewitness

Having a bad feeling, he immediately conjured a set of propelling thrusters on his right arm with his Overheal before hurling a boosted haymaker on the intrusive barrier.

His punch hardly made any dent nor tremor on the barrier, as if any kinetic energy was immediately nullified the moment it clashed with the barrier.

As if the space had been isolated.

"Ancient Magus," Lothair incremenstely muttered. Before he knew it, the invisible wall had been further reduced, removing a lot of options that he could use.

Seeing the trapped mouse, the goliath of a demon calmly marched forward with a menacing power stride, showing the great difference in both strength and spellcasting power.

The goliath had no difficulty entering the invisible wall as if nothing existed there. Lothair couldn't also detect any kind of fluctuation.

This kind of spellcasting prowess was only available to those who honed their craft for hundreds if not thousands of years.

One by one in the distance, the Abraxas members popped out of their portals, becoming an audience to what would unfold from this scenario. Emil was there too amongst his followers. Despite the favor leaned towards him at this very moment, not a slightest of emotion was shown on his melancholic expression.

Nobody interfered. Or to be precise, nobody 'could' interfere. Aside from the visual, the barrier had perfectly isolated the two of them from the world outside.

The goliath towered Lothair like an anteater to a single ant. The moment he cocked his fist, the air shuddered and swirled destructively as they had nowhere to escape this containment.

A punch was sent, strong enough to bend steel and dent a hole on the foot of a mountain.

And another punch.

And another.

And another.

Flurry of brutal knockouts were delivered to the sinner with hundreds of demons being the witness. For once, it felt more like an execution scene than a battlefield.

After a hundred strikes later, the goliath ceased his violence. Heart was giving a fervent beat to muse the aching body. It looked like the whole thing had ended — that was what many of them thought.

Not even after the dust settled, a black tendril gleamed in green outline — sprung from the corner where Lothair was. It maliciously pierced the goliath on the stomach, before twisting itself and piercing another part of the goliath's body again and again.

More of the same tendrils arose from the limp body of the Holy Witch. As if being possessed, the accursed healer stood up like a controlled puppet.

For 30 seconds after that, the Abraxas witnessed true malice and horror. They could do nothing but watch, as the goliath was revived again and again on his death door, preventing the removal of the barrier that could be triggered by his death.

Many demons hurled their insides, some of them however, smiled with glee, while wondering if they would be able to defeat this hellspawn of a monster. Thinking about the amount of honors and fame they would receive was enough to give them a rush of dopamine.

Finally, after a whole minute, the goliath was left to die, releasing the caged beast to the outside world. Or what they thought.

Suddenly, one of the Abraxas unsheathed his sword and decapitated seven demons within his vicinity. The wind from the whipping steel pushed the hood of the purple cloak, revealing a long silverish hair with many shades of gray.

There weren't only one Lothair's who disguised amongst the Abraxas. In a disorderly manner, ten of his clones did the same as the first one did, striking confusion and fear onto the demons in purple.

An all out war ensued immediately.

Likewise, Emil Sincaste went back to his own private space again.

"The Holy Witch is only one, the Abraxas still have nine thousands more." Emil then opened his observation spell to look at the battlefield once again, all while meaning to assist his followers with his thorns if necessary. "A battle of attrition, something that can't ever be lost when the numbers are stacking."

But just as he set his eyes on his monitoring screen, he felt something was wrong.

The members of Abraxas were stopped on their track, and Lothair along with his clones were nowhere to be found.

Emil depressingly sighed before turning back.

There, across the bland platform of the private space, was the very demon Emil sought to kill, together with ten clones of his.

"You're always at your weakest when you feel at ease, Emil Sincaste." Lothair snickered, before engulfing his whole face with the intense, singular red gaze once again. "Just like when you're young, you tend to not realize when something is attached on your back."

"So you still remember, huh."

"The Holy Witch never forgets."

Emil immediately went back to the battlefield once again, leaving his private space as Lothair pursued. Now that Lothair had acquired the coordinate catalyst of Emil's private space, he could go there whenever he wanted as if he had acquired a key to enter Emil's establishment.

Lothair believed that Emil would possess more than one private space, but seeing how the Archon of the Abraxas went back to the battlefield, the theory that he didn't expect someone who could only cast healing to infiltrate someone's private space had been highly upvoted by the brain cells within Lothair's skull.

Or maybe it was a layered lie to ease Lothair's guard.

After all, Emil might possess a great amount of information on Lothair. The ace was still lurking somewhere, waiting for the perfect opportunity.

The fight continued the moment Lothair and his clones were scattered in formation to take down as many Abraxas members as they could. This time, no more playing around. Many strikes and counters that Lothair enacted were fast and efficient like mowing down a lawn with a roaring grass cutter.

Despite that, the number of Abraxas members within the field had increased overtime. If two of their members died, three of them began to pop up around the corner to replace the casualty.

It was at a point where Lothair felt incredibly annoyed.

With a glare that could sap out the life of anyone who saw it, Lothair was ready to go beyond the limit of his Overheal usage.

"Overheal Series…"

But just before he could unleash whichever hell he created within his mind, a bright army of light appeared from 445 unnatural wormholes in the sky. They gracefully descended to the accursed land, beaming all sorts of prisms capable of deflecting the hundreds of weapons and elemental projectiles that were sweeping every clone that the Holy Witch created.

Behind him, Lothair could feel the familiar warmth that he had accustomed for hundreds if not the majority of his entire lifeline. While the feeling of relief began to gush over his spine, a new sense of anxiety prevented him from looking back to see unknown visitors that might either be the justice cavalier, or the dreaded claws that were aiming at his life.

A zealous chant could be heard from each and every one of those demons in white, with all of them preaching their own respective beliefs and ideals. Nonetheless, their individuality had only strengthened each other even further, providing unique lights and warmth that greatly complements diversity.

Before Lothair could comprehend what was happening — volleys of various projectiles were passing through the upper corner of his vision, annihilating every barrier, every trickery, and every malicious intent that was currently available on the other side.
