' Where am I? '

These were the first words that came to his mind, Kai tried to open his eyes but he only managed to see some light illuminating his face.

' Had my limbs been chopped off? ' When he tried to move his arms and feet, he felt nothing.

' Ha! So much for being the Night God, I wonder which bastard will have the fortune of being called The God killer. ' Kai mumbled remembering the name that was famous all across the land, he had earned that name by killing countless people.

For the first time, Kai heard something but he couldn't understand a word. Just then he felt his head spinning, Kai again tried to focus on his vision when his eyes opened he saw two beautiful emerald eyes right in front of him, staring at with various emotions that Kai had long forgotten.

As his vision became a little clearer, he was finally able to see the face of a woman. She looked a little pale, and beads of sweat glistened on her face but all of this still couldn't hide her beauty. Her long black hair cascaded down her shoulders sticking to her skin, while a beautiful smile adored her face.

Several questions came to his mind, making it impossible for Kai to assess his situation calmly, also the drowsiness and his slow thinking weren't helping at all. It took him a while before he came to a conclusion.

' This is a new start, but what's even the point when all I can remember is pain- ' Kai's thoughts were interrupted when his head became light again, it seemed he was passed back to the other woman.

The midwife looked to be in her late fourties, she moved the white cloth a little and began to rub his belly. Kai understood that she wanted to get some reaction from him, people check these things by slapping or rubbing baby's bodies.

" Uwaah " Kai decided to fulfil the middle aged woman's wish since he was feeling uncomfortable because of her constant rubbing.

After hearing his cry, the midwife began to clean his body.

" Emily, is your husband not here yet? " While cleaning Kai's body, the midwife asked.

"..." Emily stayed silent, Kai looked towards her and saw her beautiful smile disappearing, her eyebrows were creased making her look sad.

Her love filled eyes and her kind smile reminded Kai of an emotion he had completely forgotten among the countless massacres he performed in his previous life as an act of revenge.

" It looks like this little devil is talking to you. " The midwife commented with a chuckle in response to which Emily laughed a little too.

The midwife had almost cleaned Kai by now, after a few more minutes Kai was wrapped in a new white cloth then she took him in her arms again and brought him closer to Emily.

" Have you thought of a name for him yet? " The midwife asked, as she gently placed Kai beside Emily.

" Yes, it's Leo. " Emily said, as she caressed Kai's cheek with affection.

' I wonder what they are talking about, anyway, I don't want to get through the cycle of life again my previous life was enough of a suffering, I feel bad for her but I'd rather end myself than to go through those things again... '

Kai thought as he wanted to end his life, despite seeing his own family getting annihilated at a young age, his life became an actual hell when an organization had kidnapped him along with many other children.

He tried to look around the room, but his eyes could only focus on things that were closer to him, he stared at his mother and couldn't help but wonder:

But his thoughts began to feel distant when he felt his eyes shutting on their own, the last thing that he saw was his mother's face, as she hugged him lovingly.

" Uaaaiii aaayyy- " Then reality hit him again, and when his eyes opened he again saw two beautiful emerald eyes looking at him.
