Chapter 10: I don't know.

From this point, Belphegor could not continue with certainty the rest of the story because he did not experience it with his own eyes.

The beginning of the story he was able to comment on because some of Lucifer's memories were recreated in the new memories of the sins, however some parts such as conversations or sensations were not entirely clear so he could not speak with complete certainty about all the conversations Samael and Lucifer had.

Anyway to complement Belphegor's story, Kimino decided to intervene and relate what she knew about that event.

Because she had been born about a century later, she could not say that what she would say is the complete truth, however, during her lifetime she had the honor of being trained by the same legendary dragon Terminus Drako, which surprised both Belphegor and Gin.

The name Kimino had used to introduce herself was, Karen Alexandra Winter Inmidous Navano Drako, so now that she had heard it from the supreme witch herself, the last unknown surname was in fact a first name.

Wizards usually took the last name of their teachers as a token of their appreciation and thanks, plus in the world of magic the teacher who taught you how to use your magic was like a parent to wizards, so it was not uncommon for a child to have the same last name as their parents.

However with Terminus Drako, instead of using the surname Terminus, which is disowned by most humans of this world and the church, it was not used and instead his first name was used.

A not too clever but still very effective strategy, since most people, know the great black dragon king, as the dragon of the end or simply as Terminus the king of dragons.

In defense of Terminus, Kimino said that at that moment he was in some kind of trance, after all not even the weakest of dragons would follow without complaining the orders of another species, since they were a rather proud race and not even think of dominating the king, most likely according to her was that they took him by surprise and used some kind of confusion magic or similar.

But anyway Terminus managed to be stopped eventually by Samael, which he was grateful for from the bottom of his heart and which at the same time irritated him for having been defeated.

However despite this fact, the hatred and fear of mankind towards the demons only grew, but more than a decision of their own it seemed as if they were being manipulated and it did not help that the church took complete control of society and influenced the masses to destroy the demonic race, while they themselves changed the historical facts at the convenience of the angels and gods.

"The demons attacked the human race in order to extinguish it and when the gods came down from the very heavens to stop them, the angel Gabriel was cruelly murdered by Lucifer and the king of the demons exiled all the celestials to prevent them from saving mankind."

That was the first rumor coming from the church that Terminus heard while in his human form in one of the cities he liked to visit.

However that rumor was the one that started the war, which was formally declared months later.

The war was a massacre for both sides, which showed no signs of relenting, Terminus never had any reason to intervene since after all this war did not affect him in the least, besides wanting revenge on Solomon, nothing would convince him to join the battle, so he just watched.

But if there was one thing Terminus regretted during the beginning of this war, it was not being able to save his friend Samael.

He selfishly decided that this war was none of his business and his pride would not allow him to join no matter what.

It was only a few years later that he saw how Samael offered his head to calm the anger of the humans, to perhaps in a distant future achieve understanding, perhaps that idealism consumed him, perhaps that noble reason caused his death in order to become a martyr, perhaps it was just a way to leave all the suffering behind, perhaps if he had been close to him that fate would not have been sealed, perhaps if he had moved, Samael's smile directed towards him during the execution, would not have hurt so much.

That regret gnawed at Terminus' heart and mind to this day, especially since his death was in vain according to him.

Since then the only thing Terminus saw was the enormous destruction that the human race could cause to other species and after a few decades, he stopped relating completely to the outside world, entering a state of meditation until he met Kimino.

On the other hand, things in the underworld were not going well, since there was a constant struggle for power, usually Lucifer always remained at the top, while the other sins fought for second place in power, this in order to have a goal and not go crazy in that terrible place.

The sins sometimes possessed some demons or other races in order to fulfill their mission of maintaining the balance of power in the world, in addition to bringing news about what was happening above.

Apparently a method to keep the great seal of Lucifer active was that a powerful entity known as demon king, was on earth, if this for some reason was not fulfilled, the seal would be broken and the angels would descend to finish their work, that was also one of the reasons why the sins ascended, to find and cultivate the power of this demon king, although from time to time there were some kings who did not need outside help to control their power, although they were a small exception.

But unfortunately due to this constant flow of information between earth and hell, Lucifer learned of the death of Samael, which caused him to go mad with guilt and sadness, plus the miasma full of negative energy that abounded in hell, did not allow him to return to his normal state.

Because of this the other sins tried desperately to get closer to the throne to snatch control from Lucifer as soon as possible, this of course was not because they hated him or something similar, but the underworld is a dangerous place full of madness, which makes it difficult to maintain friendly relations because of the distrust and paranoia that is felt in that place.

Even so, it is most likely that the other sins would never reach the throne due to the most powerful entity of the underworld, the demonic goddess Lilith.

After naming that woman, Belphegor paused for a moment and without giving further details about the current situation of the underworld, and then told the reason why he had transferred to Gin's body.

And with that said, the story, although quite abbreviated, was over.

Gin wanted to know the truth about the origin of the war, not the details about the most important people of the past, or at least for now she didn't need to know, but now that she had finally achieved the goal of knowing the truth, there was one thing she had to resolve.

—Now that you know the truth, what will you do? —Kimino asked that question with an insightful smile, as he looked at Gin who was still processing the information he had been given.

To that question Gin didn't know the answer....

What should he do? where should he go? who should he hate? should he take revenge in the first place? who was his enemy? what should he fight against? the humans? the church? the kingdoms that obeyed the church? the angels? the gods? on whom should he focus this anger and resentment he felt?

The humans fought the demons out of fear of the attack on the angels and were eventually deceived by the church, which changed the whole story, were they really responsible for their actions.

No, they did indeed know what they were doing, however they were unconsciously incited, but... did that make them guilty?

The kingdoms were dominated by the social and economic power that the church possessed and followed its orders, could you blame the kingdoms just for following orders from someone higher up?

The church, changed history to cover up the destruction that the gods and angels had caused, however they may have been forced to do so for an external reason, could I blame them without knowing their motives?

The angels, blindly following the orders of the gods, believing it was the right thing to do and without being allowed to object or show emotions, were forced to attack the humanoid creatures of the world, should he unleash his hatred on these mere minions of the supreme entities?

And finally, the gods who acted according to their beliefs, trying to repair the mistake their supreme god had caused by creating mankind, brutally murdered many people, giving as a reason that demons could not exist, should he focus his fury on them for their irrational motive, or should he investigate more about what led them to make that decision, a century after the demons were born?

The latter option was the most feasible, but even that would not bring his loved ones back to life, and he still had to process the information Belphegor gave him.

Because he was possessed by him, he became a candidate for demon king and not only that, but his time was limited because if the last demon king was killed, the gods could attack the earth again, so he could not waste time and investigate the motives of each species, he had to start his journey, however in his situation, the only answer he could give to Kimino at that moment was....

—I don't know. —With those short words, Gin indefinitely began to meditate on everything he had learned and experienced up to this point.

And without stopping or interrupting him Belphegor and Kimino, they waited in silence until he made his decision, his time limit was 50 days, which would pass in the blink of an eye, so he had to hurry.
