Demonic Prowess

A loud snap echoed through the air as the tree began its gradual descent to the earth. Tsuyoshi swiftly brushed off his hands before pulling the tree along behind him.

Upon reaching the clearing around his house, he took a deep breath, lifted his hands, and swung his hand at the tree in a chopping motion. Fragments of bark scattered through the air, revealing a noticeable chip in its surface.

He repeated this action twice more, slicing away nearly half of the tree, when suddenly, a distinct Ding sound caught his attention.

Tsuyoshi grinned triumphantly as he continued to chop away at the tree, effortlessly splitting it in half and leveling up his class to level three.

"Well, that was easier than I thought!" he exclaimed happily. Curiosity piqued, he turned to his system and asked, "Hey system, when does the story begin?"

The system responded, "The story has already begun. In just three months, Tanjiro Kamado will partake in the final selection."

Tsuyoshi's eyes widened in shock. "What?! I thought I had more time! Why didn't you tell me earlier?!" he exclaimed, frustration evident on his face.

The system retorted, "Because you never asked." tick marks appeared on Tsuyoshi's forehead as he let out a sigh of annoyance. "Well, I guess I'll have to step up my game," he muttered determinedly, returning to his task at hand.

The moon loomed overhead, illuminating the earth below with its gentle radiance. The rustling of leaves and snapping of twigs were rare occurrences in the stillness of the night. A mysterious figure cautiously made its way through the darkness.

Suddenly, the figure halted as it caught sight of a pack of wolves in the distance. The wolves moved stealthily, their eyes scanning the surroundings for their next meal before retiring for the night.

Tsuyoshi couldn't help but smirk. He had been tirelessly searching for animals to hunt, a means to gain experience points and level up. Little did he know, this endeavor had even led him to embark on a thrilling quest.

Tsuyoshi let out a frustrated sigh as he unintentionally snapped a twig under his foot while moving forward. The wolves immediately halted in their tracks, turning their heads to investigate the noise.

"Well, there goes my chance for a surprise attack," he muttered to himself, brushing off the dirt from his clothes and confidently approaching the wolves. As soon as the wolves caught sight of him, their demeanor shifted, their teeth bared and ears flattened against their heads as they emitted low growls.

"Hey, I'm right here!" he called out, trying to catch their attention. The wolves began to encircle him, their movements cautious and calculated. In a hushed voice, he quietly whispered "[Observe]" to himself, focusing his attention on each of the wolves.

Suddenly, out of nowhere, a wolf pounced towards him from his blind spot. However, thanks to Tsuyoshi's [Enhanced senses], he was able to spot the wolf before it could reach him. Swiftly, he turned towards the wolf and skillfully evaded its attack, swiftly retaliating with a powerful chop to its neck.

With a thud, the wolf fell lifeless to the ground. Witnessing the demise of its companion, the other wolf growled menacingly, clearly agitated. Without wasting a moment, two more wolves lunged towards Tsuyoshi.

Reacting quickly, Tsuyoshi leaped backwards, skillfully dodging the first wolf's slashing attempt. Just as he thought he was safe, the second wolf sprang towards him. In a display of agility and strength, Tsuyoshi planted his foot firmly on the ground and swiftly brought his other foot up, delivering a powerful blow directly to the skull of the attacking wolf.

With a satisfying crack, the second wolf was on the ground bleeding, but Tsuyoshi knew he couldn't let his guard down. Sensing movement behind him, he swiftly grabbed bleeding wolf by its tail and with all his might, hurled it towards the approaching wolf that was attempting to sneak up on him.

As Tsuyoshi shifted his focus to the third wolf, he noticed it charging towards him. Reacting swiftly, he sprinted towards it head-on. Caught off guard, the wolf couldn't respond in time as Tsuyoshi delivered a powerful punch to its head.

A loud crack echoed through the air as the impact shattered the wolf's skull. With the wolf incapacitated, Tsuyoshi seized its head and relentlessly struck its face until it met its demise.

Now, Tsuyoshi directed his attention to the remaining two wolves, still entangled in their struggle. Approaching them, he raised his legs as high as possible and brought them crashing down, instantly crushing and killing the two wolves.

Tsuyoshi let out a sigh of relief and took a moment to pause when he suddenly heard the sound of footsteps. As he turned around, he noticed another wolf approaching him. This particular wolf appeared to be larger than the others. Curiosity piqued, he decided to cast [Observe] on it too...

As the wolf halted in its tracks, Tsuyoshi greeted it with a friendly tone, saying, "Hey there, big fella." He prepared himself, locking eyes with the wolf, showcasing his sharp fangs. The wolf responded with a growl and then lunged towards him. Tsuyoshi swiftly dodged the attack, gracefully evading its grasp, and retaliated by slashing at its vulnerable underbelly. The wolf let out a howl of pain, but it didn't back down. It charged at Tsuyoshi once more, determined to continue the fight.

Tsuyoshi firmly planted his foot and lunged once more. This time, he seized the wolf by its jaws with both hands. The wolf retaliated by clawing at his arms with its sharp claws. Despite the hissing pain, Tsuyoshi held the wolf high and forcefully slammed it onto the ground.

With a sense of triumph, he let go of his grip and observed as the wolf whimpered in agony, blood flowing profusely. Eventually, the wolf ceased all movement. Tsuyoshi let out a sigh of relief, relishing the sight of the healing of the claw marks.
