16 Ch 15:Kamaboko Squad~

Four years have passed and I finally completed what Oyakata-sama had asked me to do.

My crow had alerted me of demon sightings at a nearby forest before I could even rest. I tiredly sigh at the new information and continue to travel to the forest mentioned.

'I wonder how Shinobu-san is doing? Last she wrote was that she became the Insect Hashira when Kanae-san stepped down.'I think back to the last letter I received a month ago.

The sound of leaves crushing below me can be heard as I make my way to the centre of the forest.

"!"

I quickly step away from the spot I was standing on, thin lines could be seen as they swiftly cut through the air.

'There's only one demon who could do this...'

"Rui?.."I look around before hearing a gasp behind a tree.

"Onee-Chan?..."He steps out of the shadows.

"Rui it really is you!"I took off my mask as I walk towards him to hug him.

"Mm, I haven't seen you since that day.."I pat his head as I hug him.

"Onee-Chan is warm..."He slightly melts into my embrace.

"Caw! Demon slayers reinforcements coming!"

I look into the sky to see Kasai flying above me.

"This is a bit troublesome..."

I change my outfit into my demon outfit.

"How do I look?"I finish tying up my now white-ghost grey hair into a ponytail.

"Very different..."Rui looks at me with wonder.

"Haha, glad you think so.."I ruffle his hair.

I can hear the footsteps approaching as I told Rui to go easy on them.

I hid nearby as I saw him make quick work out of the demon slayers, controlling their limps with his thread to make them walk out of the forest instead.

'Thank you, Rui..'

I can sense four different presence entering the forest.

'3 Males and 1 Female..'

"Who might it be?..."I look up at the moon.

'Hopefully, not too much blood has to be shed today...'

The 3 males were venturing into the forest as they were stopped by other demons that Rui had change into.

The yellow-haired one was taken by his 'brother' and the other with a boar head was fighting with his 'father'.

I sigh as he was stopped by Rui. Black to red hair with dark red eyes, his aura was warm and gentle yet his eyes show the strength of a warrior.

'Wonder what's in the box he's carrying..'

"You best leave demon slayer."Rui held up his hand.

"I am only giving you mercy due to my Onee-Chan."He glared at the black to red male sending shivers up his spine.

A cut formed on his cheek, a warning to not overstep his luck. He just stood there with his katana ready to fight.

I shook my head and sigh before Rui had to force him to leave.

Rui's hands swipe back, pulling something with his fingers. The thin thread was closing in on him as he had to step back to avoid it.

The fight continues as his sister woke up and tried to help him tank an attack.

Rui wasn't expecting another demon to help, too late to pull back the thread as it cuts deep into her skin.

"Nezuko!"

He then steps back with his sister in hand.

'The arm was almost cut off...'I watch as he holds on to the bleeding arm.

He left her at the back before continuing the fight.

"Tch, you still won't give up?"Rui's expression turns into an annoyed one.

"Water breathing,first form:Water Surface Slash!"

A water slash was materialized before my eyes as he leaps to attack Rui.

I can smell Nezuko moving about even with that attack from before.

Seeing how Rui was focused on Tanjiro, I step in.

Rui felt a gust of wind beside him as he stops Tanjiro's attack by cutting his sword.

He turns around to see me holding Nekuzo's wrists before she could strike him.

"Onee-Chan!..."His eyes widen.

"Be gentle with her would ya?"I whisper to him.

"..." His thread now held Nezuko in the air, almost cutting her skin, drawing blood.

Tanjiro looks up when he saw something red drips down onto his broken sword.

"I thought I said to go easy on her?"

"Sorry."

"Nezuko!"He shouts before placing his attention on us. His eyes were filled with anger before attacking us again.

"Rui you should be fine without me yes?"

I leap back into the trees.

"Blood Demon art:Cutting Thread Cage."

"Total Concentration Water Breathing,Tenth form:Constant Flux!"

A huge water dragon appears before the broken sword and it cuts through the normal thread before reaching the Blood Demon Art's one.

He widened his eyes at the sight before his body had done something interesting, to which I notice.

"Hinokami Kagura!Dance!"

The water dragon changed into a powerful slash of fire as he dashes towards Rui, cutting some of the thread.

He continues running at him even though he gets cut by the threads. Nezuko who held her glowing hand up and closed it, the blood around Rui's threads began glowing as it combusted into flames, destroying it in the process.

Now Tanjiro has a clear way to cut Rui's head off. As he slashes his neck with the pure fire on his blades but then I notice how his thread was first to cut his neck instead so I wasn't too worried.

I watch as Rui's head flew off into the distance and Tanjiro's body began falling due to the excessive use of water and fire breathing.

Nezuko also fell onto the hard ground of soil as Rui's thread was destroyed by the flames.

As Tanjiro crawled to Nezuko, Rui's body picked up the head and place it back on its neck.

"Rui that was kinda gross..."I walk out of the shadows as he approaches the two.

"Sorry, you had to see that Onee-Chan..."

"Head pat?"He gave me a puppy look which I couldn't resist.

"Alright alright..."I pat his head as we stop before the siblings.

Tanjiro had cuts all over his body while Nezuko's body had already recovered from the threads.

"You really should have back away when you had the chance boy."He looks up at me with fear as to what I was going to do.

"Next time do follow instructions."I squat to whisper to him.

As I stood up, "Let's go Rui."

Rui glared at him before following me.

"!"

I grab Rui's arm and pull him into my embrace, shielding him from an attack.

'Ugh!'

I fought back the tears as the attack landed on my back. Blood gushes out as I cough up blood in my mouth.

"Onee-Chan?..."Rui stares at me before looking back to see Giyuu attacking once more.

I quickly leap out of the attack zone with Rui in my arms. As we land onto a thick tree branch, "Ugh..That's going to hurt.."I lightly leap on Rui as blood continues to stain my clothes.

"Onee-Chan!"He grabs onto my arms before angrily staring at Giyuu.

"No! Leave them."I whisper to Rui before he could attack back.

"But they attacked you!"I can feel his anger coming out.

'I will bleed to death if I don't treat this wound.'

"Rui, Do this one favour for me please."

He looks at me before agreeing, helping me to a safer place. I look back to see Giyuu and Shinobu arguing, to what I assume is probably Nezuko.
