Chapter 8

"Alright guys, our first stop is Haven Academy," Jaune said while looking at both Neo and Alice.

"You're going after the Relic my lord? But I thought it could only be opened by the spring maiden hence why we were going after Raven Branwen." Alice asked in confusion.

"Heh. The God of light probably thought himself smart, setting up those vaults and connecting them to Ozpunk's magic. But with my partner, analyzing the nature of the Vault will take no time at all which will give me unrestricted access to the vault."

"Partner?" Alice asked in confusion with Neo having a similarly confused face.

"Yup, my skill [Great Sage] is the best partner I could ask for," Jaune said, nodding with pride at his op skill.

Neo looked at Jaune as if he was an idiot, unlike Alice who was also nodding her head as well.

"But on a completely serious note, I should be able to get the relic undetected without anyone knowing. Which will give us an advantage in the future." Jaune said with a smirk. If RWBY is to be believed then he should be able to get to the underground cavern from the mountain that Haven is situated on. "In the meantime, we need to gather as much information on Raven. While my usual MO is to track her down with tech, the bandit barely interacts with the kingdoms and she has no scroll for me to abuse. So we're going to have to go with good old-fashioned information gathering."

"Understood my lord, I'll prepare to gather useful information for your cause."

Before they could continue to talk further the bullhead began to shake and the pilot shouted from the cockpit. "Yo boss we got Nevermores on us!"

"Open the cargo door!" Jaune yelled back as he got up and headed toward the back of the bullhead and grabbed his sword along the way. As he got to the back of the bullhead he saw the cargo door opening, allowing him to see the Nevermore Grimm flying around. They took the form of large avians with Grimm features such as bone plating over its body and their four deep glowing red eyes.

"You all are such pests and I can't wait till I no longer have to deal with you," Jaune said in annoyance while using [Sticky-Steel Thread] to quickly tie them up and pull them toward him. While Salem shouldn't be paying attention to some random kid fighting Jaune would rather play it safe and have her and anyone else he fought to think that [Sticky-Steel Thread] was his semblance.

Once they were close enough Jaune jumped out of the bullhead and performed a quick spin slash that took off all six of their heads.

With the Grimm dealt with, Jaune now faced a problem. The fact that he was now falling out of the sky. "Okay I've wanted to do this for a while and now is the time!" Jaune said in excitement before turning around so that his back was facing the ground and he could look up at the rapidly shrinking bullhead.

Bringing his hands up he shot [Sticky-Steel Threads] that shot up and wrapped around the wing of the bullhead. Using his momentum along with the bullhead Jaune swung around landing perfectly on the roof of the bullhead.

"Hahaha, that was awesome!" Jaune said with childish excitement after pulling a Spiderman.

"My lord! Come down at once! While that was cool it was also super dangerous!" Alice said sternly though she held a small amount of pride in her voice.

"Fine," Jaune said with a pout while climbing back into the bullhead. As soon as he was inside he was hastily stripped by Alice who began checking his body for injuries. Once Alice had checked every inch of his body she released a sigh of relief.

"Thanks, Alice even if it was unnecessary," Jaune said with a smile while putting his clothes back on.

\What was that all about up there? You were super excited up there./ Neo asked in confusion.

"Oh nothing much, just fulfilling a fantasy of mine," Jaune said while sitting back down and relaxing a smile spreading across his face.

After traveling by air for half a day they all finally arrived in Mistral. As they flew over the city Jaune admired the stellar view of the eastern-style architecture that made up Mistral.

"Alright let's go guys," Jaune said while getting up as the bullhead touched down in the bullhead port. Grabbing his suitcase Jaune stepped out of the bullhead followed by Neo and Alice. Pulling out his scroll Janue pulled up a map of the city before beginning to walk forward.

It didn't take long for them to arrive at the hotel where they got their keys and went to their room. The room was massive with it being more of a penthouse with a personal kitchen, a bathroom, a living room, a balcony, and two bedrooms.

"Okay, you two start setting up the rooms while I head to Lower Mistral," Jaune said before using [Sticky-Steel Thread] to form a cocoon around him. The cocoon then unraveled to reveal Jaune now in his combat gear.

\Okay see you later./ Neo said before jumping onto the couch and laying down.

"When do you think you will be back, my lord?" Alice asked.

After contemplating for several seconds Jaune spoke up. "I think a couple of hours so you can start dinner while I'm out."

"Understood, my lord, it shall be done," Alice said while performing a bow before heading to the kitchen to begin cooking.

Jaune then walked out to the balcony and used [Illusion Creation] to make himself invisible before jumping off the balcony. As Jaune fell through the air his clothes fluttering in the wind he couldn't help but smile in excitement. 'Though it will be a hard and arduous path I can't say I'm not excited to see what's at the end of this journey.' Jaune thought before using [Gravity Manipulation] to bounce through the air toward the mountain that held Haven Academy.

It didn't take long for Jaune to arrive at the mountain from there; it was only a matter of time before he found his entrance. Using [Great Sage]'s great calculating speed to deduce the place that resembled where Cinder broke out in RWBY.

'Alright let's do this.' Jaune thought while using [Molecular Manipulation] to move the rocks out of the way leaving revealing the cavern behind it. 'Nice! Great work [Great Sage].'

["Notice. Your praise is welcome."]

Jaune, hearing [Great Sage], smiled hearing the beginnings of an ego before walking inside and sealing the entrance of the cavern. Looking up Jaune saw the faint orange glow in the distance.

"There you are," Jaune said before using [Gravity Manipulation] alongside gusts of wind via [Molecular Manipulation] to start flying up toward the vault.

After flying for several minutes Jaune landed on the platform that held the vault's doorway causing the ground to begin glowing a light blue.

"Alright, I'm giving you full access to my body [Great Sage]," Jaune said with a smile.

["Understood."]

With that, [Great Sage] took control of Jaune's body, his eyes changing from blue to yellow.

[Great Sage] lifted its/her hand up and used [Gluttony] causing a purple cloud to spread from its/her hand that quickly consumed the vault door.

["Notice. Beginning analysis of spring vault.]

Using its/her sheer calculating power due to the skills [Thought Acceleration] and [Parallel Operation].

From there [Great Sage] spent years worth of time thoroughly analyzing the composition of the vault but on the outside, it only took a few hours.

["Notice. Intrinsic Skill [Small World] acquired."]

["Notice. A solution to master's problem has been devised. Relinquishing control."]

With her job done [Great Sage] released the vault doorway setting it right back to where it was before relinquishing control back to Jaune causing his eyes to change back to blue.

"So that's it huh?" Jaune thought while walking up to the door and pushing his magicules through the door causing the door to begin opening. Normally this wouldn't work since the vault doors were tied to the maiden's magical signatures. But thanks to [Great Sage] he could now tune the magicules in his possession to match the maiden's signatures.

Once the door was fully opened Jaune was greeted by the small desert world and in the center hovering above a stone pedestal was the relic of knowledge, which took the form of an ornamented lamp that was gold and blue in color.

Walking up to the lamp, Jaune grasped the small handle on top and lifted it and began looking at the lamp in interest.

"I have no need for the genie right now so I'll just keep it inside me," Jaune said before storing the lamp inside him and leaving with no one from Ozpunk's little group of Salem's being none the wiser to his acts.
