Mesmerizing beauty

6 in the evening. The people sat in the ground in a cross legged position while the fire flicker in the center part of the place. The people talked to the person beside them as they wait for the said time. Today is when they will be welcomed into this place.

Nana, Cleo, Marcus and Ania are sitting together as they looked at the people chatting. They are clueless about what will happened to them and neither of them cares. They believed that they are safe here, away from the demons.

This welcome party occur every two days. Ania looked at the three of them. It is the first time for them. According to Marcus, they are always tired and already went to sleep by this time. That's why the three of them keep looking around the circle.

The indigenous materials of drum created a synchronizing sound of a tribal music. Each instruments that are played sync with the others. It sounded cheerful as it connects with the rhythm of the other instruments. The people cannot help but to clap and cheer for the people as they dance.  The cheerful as it may looks and fun as they dance but all of it was stopped when a song was sang out of a sudden. A mesmerizing beauty slowly move out from the pond. Her eyes was dark with a mix of different light, like a universe full of wonders.

The people are immerse of the beautiful song and this mesmerizing beauty that this creature holds. When her body finally appeared, the body is already in its perfection.  She is singing in an alluring voice yet words that cannot be understand.

The left eye of Ania moved towards the direction of the mesmerizing beauty. The original pink eye of Ania turned darker until it change into red. "A demon!" The left eye of Ania is a special device. It can detect demons that are in the given area. A demon detector eye.

The mesmerizing beauty is a demon in disguise. They are called by some people as a water nymph. It can shift into a beautiful lady to lure the men into their traps. While they will suck the souls of the women, making them a wandering lifeless body.  It is not a wonder anymore why there's a lot of sources of water here. The demons cannot get in here because they are already here from the start. This place should not be called a safe place. Instead the right word to call this is feasting place of a demon and the humans are the dishes.

The mesmerizing beauty is not what Ania can see in her eye. Instead an ugly woman with a green skin. Ania wanted to vomit because of the horrible sight. To define it as an ugly woman is not enough. A monstrous face of a horrendous witch with a decaying face and skin is what she can see.  A sharp nail and a sharp teeth can add to that sight.

But is she scared? The answer is no. She was thrilled to be exact. It's been five days since the last time she saw and killed a demon. The anti demon weapon that she have is already thirsty for a demon's blood.

The water nymph still continues to sing while making the men move towards her. This must be stopped. The drum that is lying in the ground caught her attention. You have to beat music with music. She pound the drum and it created a sound. Bang bang bang! It started from a range of uplifting  to cheerful. Then the sound became complicated and dark until it turned into a heavy and aggressive tune.

Which music will prevail? The beautiful voice of the water nymph or the aggressive tune of the drum? With each and every pounding of the drum challenge the song of the water nymph. The drum and the voice are fighting with each other. The ears of people cannot help but to hurt. They hands instinctively move to their ear to protect it from the hurtful sound.

The spell of the water nymph disappear and the color of their eyes returned to normal. The spell is now broken. The people look at each other until their eyes stopped at the sight of the water nymph. Just like the spell, the magic that keeps their looks mesmerizing disappeared. The people who saw this cannot help but to be frightened and run away from that place.

The water nymph is now furious at the sight of people running. She directed her eyes into the person who caused this to happened, Ania. The dark eyes of hers turned bloody red as she moves to Ania's direction. Ania looked at the Cleo and Nana who have a worried face at the sight of the demon nearing. Marcus is hiding them at his back.

Seeing that the water nymph is running in there direction, Marcus picked up his knife and threw it to the direction of the water nymph. But to his dismay, it didn't even hurt the water nymph. The water nymph has a special coating in her skin that protects her from a mortal weapon.

" it's useless. Marcus! Bring them and run far as you could. I'll take care of this."

Marcus pick Nana up and carried her while Cleo grab into his shirt. Seeing that they are starting to run, Ania also run away from their direction to give them enough time. Seeing that the party separated into two, the water nymph followed Marcus. "Sh*t!" Ania cannot help but to curse. She moves towards the water nymph to focus her sight into her.

"Hssss." The water nymph attacks her seeing that she caused her sight to be blocked. Using the sharp claw, the water nymph tried to scratch and damage her skin. The sharp claw is very lethal once you get scratch. Each and every nails contains a strong poison enough for you to paralyze in just a few seconds. Seeing that, Ania avoided it.

She moved in the left side of the water nymph gaining enough time to take her weapon out of her clothes. "Hisss!" The knife keeps buzzing at the smell of a demon.

"Time for you to taste a demon's blood."
