The Pendant of Protection

Xuan Hao got seated in the car which was running behind the SUV.

"Why isn't Wao Xu giving that immortal drink to that Lord? Why is my bride a human? Why is her blood needed for that ritual? Why Fei Ming Si has told me not to fall for the girl when he clearly knows that my heart just belongs to me, no one else. Mingmei was saying that I need protection from bad omen but why? Why did that old woman tell her that she's a demon bride? How can it be possible?

Ahhh….It seems father has hidden something huge from me. Even Fei Ming Si isn't telling the complete truth. Yang Dao and Feng Lui don't have that much information about this. There are so many questions and every answer involves me and Mingmei."

These thoughts were revolving in Xuan's mind when he was disturbed by Dye Gushi, the sub- assistant of Fei Ming Si.

"Xuan I never saw you before in the SJ agency. But Fei Ming was telling that you used to work there," said Gushi with confusion.

"Hehe...I was just a common worker there. You must have seen me in that event where he confessed that in his childhood friend. As a friend he recommended me here in this Agency," said Xuan with a smile.

"Oh I didn't know that. I was on leave that time. It's good then. Btw this work is really tiring but then again you enjoy it too," said Gushi and smiled.

"Hm...I know," mumbled Xuan. "Wao Xu is the one who is making me tired more than this…," thought Xuan in his mind. After two hours they reached the venue where the two actors have to sign for the roles in the drama. The two actors, Fei Ming Si and Wao Xu went into the hall where the whole team for casting was present. After greeting each other they got seated on their respective seats and started reading the scripts.

Xuan sneaked out from there as he was feeling uncomfortable there. He sat on a bench in the garden and started thinking about the way from which he can enter Wao Xu's house.

"Should I break his manager's leg for a while? Or should I ask Fei Ming Si to use his powers to send her on a leave for a while. Yes that would be great. But there's no surety that they will make me his manager. Think Xuan about the other way," thought in his mind.

"What is the great found master doing here?," said a woman. Xuan recognised the voice and immediately turned his behind and then ran to her. He gestured to her not to raise this loudly.

"Why?," asked the woman.

"Ahhh….Lee Nuwa, come with me. Then I'll tell you everything," said Xuan looking around. He grabbed her hand and took her away from there.

They reached an empty room.

"What?," asked Nuwa.

"It's a long story. Ask Fei Ming about this later. Don't call me young master here…..just Xuan."

"Okay...I won't. But what are you doing here?," asked Nuwa.

"I work here. I'm on a mission. For now it's enough for you to know. Rest things will be explained to you by Ming Si...I should go now as we shouldn't be together," said Xuan and walked out of the room.

Nuwa was surprised because for the first time she saw Xuan acting weird. After Xuan disappeared from sight, Nuwa walked out of the room.

The script reading got over in the late afternoon. Xuan saw Wao Xu was going with his manager and bodyguards. He ran after them as Lim has to discuss with him about tomorrow's schedule. Fei Ming Si looked at Xuan but didn't say anything and walked away with his manager.

Xuan was sitting on a bench in the garden, hitting lightly his shoulders when Fei Ming Si came there, grabbing his hand and they disappeared from there.

"Woah….You must be feeling good using this power," said Xuan, looking at Fei Ming and walking towards the couch and sitting there. He found Nuwa was sitting over there.

"So tell me what's going on?," asked Nuwa. Fei Ming Si told her the entire incident. "So you don't have any power with you. You must be feeling empty," said Nuwa with a smile.

"You can tease me later. First help me in getting inside Wao Xu's house. I've to search his house for the immortal drink,"said Xuan with a smile.

"We can't use our powers there. I mean Wao Xu is a demon too. He will sense it. What if he did something to that immortal drink? Do you have to find a way on your own to get into his house," said Fei Ming and sat beside him.

"Then what's the use of your past when it can't help me?," asked Xuan and made a face.

"Xuan you're sent here for a certain reason. If we have to use the powers then we have used them earlier. Don't forget your bride is still here whose blood is more powerful than the other. In short you are sent here to serve dual purposes," said Fei Ming Si.

"Mingmei," mumbled Xuan.

Yang Dao and Feng Lui are walking along with Mingmei.

"So you two are saying that Xuan Hao is the invincible warrior there?," asked Mingmei.

"Yes. He is. He hardly comes home. He mostly goes for the battles and hardly has time to think about the other things related to his life," said Feng Lui.

"It must have been tough for him. Going alone, fighting with those demons and returning safely," said Mingmei with a concerned look.

"Hahaha….nothing is tough for him. He does things on his own because that's his specialty. No one can beat him in his powers and might, not even Lord Haya," whispered Feng Lui in her ear and then backed off.

"Still he must have felt lonely in those battles. He returned after two years and then he was sent here, unable to spend time on himself. He also wants to enjoy life like every other person but the responsibilities he haa, don't let him," said Mingmei.

Yang Dao and Feng Lui looked at each other. "Where is he?," asked Mingmei.

"Maybe with Fei Ming," said Yang Dao.

"Should I call him?," asked Mingmei with a smile.

"No don't. It's not good to call him here," said Yang Dao.

"Okay," said Mingmei. They reached home after sometime. Mingmei prepared dinner for them and the trio started eating.

"You have good cooking skills," said Feng Lui while eating the fried fish.

"It's not that good," said Mingmei.

"Btw you don't have to fall in any kind of danger because some demons are really stronger than us. We won't be able to stand before them," said Yang Dao.

"What do you mean?," asked Mingmei.

"He means that don't ever go alone anywhere in any circumstance. Tell us beforehand. If by any chance you fell in danger then we won't be able to save you because we ain't that strong. None of us except Xuan Hao but his powers are suspended for the time being. If he tried using them then it won't be good for him," said Feng Lui.

"Oh...I won't," said Mingmei and put the rice in her mouth. She fell in deep thought about Xuan when Yang Dao snapped his fingers before her and she came out of her thoughts.

"Don't be sad for him. You're a human so don't increase your feelings for him, else it will be difficult for him to return to the demon world," said Yang Dao. Feng Lui too looked at her and said, "He's saying right. If you will fall for him then he won't be able to return. A human and a demon can't be together."

Mingmei nodded and continued eating. After eating and washing the dishes she went to her room and laid down on the bed. She looked at her pendant and recalled the old woman's words. "He needs it more than me," murmured Mingmei. She walked out of her room and went to the basement. She knocked at the door and entered. She saw Yang Dao and Feng Lui were watching something on the phone. Seeing Mingmei Feng Lui put aside the phone.

"Do you need anything?," asked Yang Dao looking at her.

"Well it's a special pendant that will protect Xuan. Please give it to him," said Mingmei.

"Xuan is capable enough to take care of himself," said Yang Dao and smiled.

"An old woman gave me this when I was 10, saying that it would protect me. She said I'm a demon bride so when the time will come I've to give this to him. Please give it to him, it's for his safety," said Mingmei with a worried look. Feng Lui looked at Yang Dao and took the pendant from her. "Don't worry we will give him. But why didn't you give him?," asked Feng.

"I tried but he refused. You've to give this to him at any cost," said Mingmei. Yang Dao and Feng Lui nodded looking at the pendant.
